Hello All!

Super long reaction for you guys here. I think this is gonna be a good and intense show to get stuck into. I felt like I had to be switched on and focus incase I missed anything but that could have just been me. I was obsessed with Pacey (Joshua Jackson) in Dawson's Creek so it feels nice to see the actor in something else. There's definitely chemistry between Peter and Olivia. I love Walter though, what a fascinating guy.

Hope you enjoy the reaction folks. Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

The Mindful Witch

With your finishing of the Buffyverse I am 100% on board for you to dive into this series. It might take a few episodes to get a feel for the show but I promise it is well worth a watch. Thanks for the reaction Dakara.

Johann Ludwig

I would absolutely love it if you decided to watch this show, it’s seriously great! …sadly, I have never been a fan of any of the shows you have reacted to recently 🫣😁, so I haven’t really watched your reactions in a while and I’d be happy to be back in the Dakaraverse with new videos to look forward to week in, week out. I could definitely use the distraction after going through some really, really difficult times… Anyway, it’s your call, but it would be worth the watch! 😉

Mirko Paskota

Please continue with Fringe series, one of the best series ever!

Wayne Tucker

It’s been ages since I watched the show and this reminded me just how good it was. The characters are really complex and the stories are so interesting. I think you’ll really enjoy this show. Thanks for the reaction.

TheMartinScott

As I mentioned before, you are exceptionally clever. You navigated the initial complexity and scientific concepts without missing a beat. I'm also pleased that the humor resonated with you. :)

Isak Haugerud

Yes, I think you should 100% continue this show!

Mirko Paskota

Dakara, That was a great reaction. So many insights on so little information... Walter is "everyone"s favourite character, only most(?) of us took an episode or two longer than you to formulate that. When Fringe started the first run, Anna Torv was unjustly described as wooden, cold, unemotional... (this from people that haven't seen her in anything else); Anna is an excellent actress, and it is OLIVIA DUNHAM that is somewhat cold, wooden, etc -- this is actually a plot point, but to say anything more would be a spoiler...

Neumann

whoa whoa whoa, i was NOT expecting to see fringe so soon, not until firefly finished at least! funny you should mention lost as i always tell people this is like a more focused lost lol. where lost was a totally open, no holds barred sandbox, fringe at least has the parameter of "can it fit into the fringe science category?" restriction to keep a bit more centered imo can i also mention the way peter was looking at olivia when he was putting the leads on her? or should i say NOT looking at her; no leering! no lingering male gaze sweep, just a "shit, this lady is crazy and trusting my crazy father and now i gotta make sure she doesn't die" look. that has stuck with me since i first saw it 'cause, like, when was the last time a show DIDN'T take the opportunity for a male gaze sweep when a female actor was in her underwear? literally from that moment, i shipped it lmao hot damn, you caught the "he's not dead" gravestone! impressive! hard to catch in the chaos but john didn't actually want to plane to be targeted, stieg said something about other buyers and john was threatening him because the plane brought down a ton of attention finally: RIP lance reddick, aka broyles

Started watching yesterday so I'm only a few episodes in. Pretty sure that doctor in the hospital was in Orphan Black.

O god please keep watching Dakara, you are going to love this show. I was one of the ones who voted for Fringe initially not thinking that other people would vote for it too and it finished very high. It is my favorite show. I think what you'll find is that each episode leads you on to the next one and mysteries will be introduced, questions will be occasionally answered only to create more questions and mysteries....lol. Before you know it, you will be deeply invested, completely hooked and forever addicted. I think maybe you already are....and I can't wait for this to go forward. This was such a great pilot and I will be here for every future episode that you watch. Please continue...

Thomas Maes

Oh yes, please do this show. It's so goooooooood. I watched it a couple of years ago and would to rewatch it again together with you. :-)

Michele

I think Fringe would be a good show to react to. It's very interesting and gives X-Files vibes.

Valcor

Really hope you go ahead with Fringe eventually. Think it's such a perfect show similar to Supernatural/X Files.

Brian Dworak

If Dak averts her eyes and covers her mouth in the first two minutes, you know it's gonna be good. Echoing others, yes, please choose to react to this series. The actor you recognized as Butcher's father in The Boys that plays Dr. Walter Bishop is John Noble. You might also remember him as Denethor, father of Boromir and Faramir, in The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King and the extended version of The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers, who committed suicide during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. He was quite different than in the books, but I enjoyed his portrayal. I was really impressed that you caught the "He's not dead" on the headstone. There are things like that sprinkled throughout the series, which are quite fun to try and spot. My final question is for the other patrons: To glyph or not to glyph? Those that watched this originally had no clue, so maybe it's best not to explain? I'd be interested in your thoughts regarding that. Love that you're posting so much content Dak, but it also makes me anxious trying to keep up. 😄 You're the best.

Shona

Really hope you pick this up as a regular reaction. I love this show, nearly as much as Buffy and Supernatural.

Neumann

omg i was debating explaining the glyphs too lol. i think it should wait AT LEAST a few episodes, maybe not until halfway through season 1 or later

Brian Dworak

Thank you for replying! I had a couple of pages opened with the glyph stuff and was going to include the info in my comment, but felt like I needed to read the room. It's not really a spoiler to the show itself, but I didn't want to be "that guy".

Buffy and Firefly have always been on a different level for me personally, but as far as other shows goes Fringe is up there as well (defintely top 10, probably top 5, even though it's been a while since I've considered my tv-show rankings). Much like you, I've always had a soft spot for Pacey/Joshua Jackson, so it was a no-brainer to check this out back in the day when it aired, and it got me really hooked pretty early on. With that said. It's a different kind of a beast, but one I think you'll find very enjoyable for this purpose. I also happen to think it elevates to something truly spectacular in the second half of season 2 and stays so strong as its foothold is established. So hopefully you'll make it a regular. As I'm new and haven't picked it up elsewhere. Don't know if you've seen Dollhouse. It's not generally as loved among the Whedons, but there's plenty to enjoy there as well. I've enjoyed your enjoyment of Buffy and Spike as characters, Buffy as a show and your reactions to Firefly so far, so I'm fairly confident Whedon got your number well down for getting his hooks in you. Anyways. Fringe is great, and hopefully I'll get to enjoy you trying to manoeuvre its pitfalls and twists.

sothcweden

I think this show is very rewarding since it is - as you noted - somewhat challenging. It moves fast and trusts its audience to keep up, but the level of attention you pay when watching means you'll be fine. If you ever struggle, there are - believe it or not - graphics out there to help. I really hope you'll continue this one, and after watching Supernatural, relatively short at only 100 eps. Either way, thanks for sharing the Pilot. Even if you choose not to watch Fringe, I think it's definitely time for ME to have a rewatch. ETA: Edited because I hit return by accident before finishing my thought.

DB

I'm really excited about this! I loved this show despite complicated feelings about JJ Abrams (I think he's overrated and can't find an interesting way out of his own mystery boxes... I guess not that complicated then lol). I've never rewatched Fringe so I'm curious to see how it holds up. Apparently, John Noble is gonna be in Ghent for the Belgian Comic Con this November. He's such a great actor. Hated Denethor, loved Walter, ngl it's tempting to attend.

Neumann

omg wtf i never get notifications when people reply to me. yeah, totally get what you're saying. i definitely think she'd at least find that super interesting even if she doesn't try to decode them all, but i feel like we should give her some time to adjust and just enjoy the show for a little while before we add homework lmao

ramon hernandez

I just saw this drop how are there 4 week old comments it just gave me notice today Thjs is such a great show the first season is so good but every other season after this one is so so good just expand your mind and believe

Sara Croughan

I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to this first episode. I look forward to binging this with you 😊. I too loves Walter straight away. He's a funny character as well. Glad I purchased your patreon and found you today on YouTube ❤️.

Sara Croughan

I did the same thing because this is such an incredible show that not enough people react to and I enjoy her commentary a lot

DakaraJayne

Appreciate it Sara! Thanks so much. Hope you enjoy the reactions ahead 🥰
