Hello All!

Walter got Astrid a present, I repeat, Walter got Astrid a present. Okay, it may have been experimented on and lost it's 'beauty' but he knew she loved butterflies and he tried to make her happy <3

Much love

- The above should solve your issues, in the odd case it doesn't, I can only put it down to it being a fresh upload and too many people are accessing the link...on this occasion I typically leave a temporary link at the bottom of the description. This lasts for 4 weeks after my initial posting. The exceeded views does reset so please be patient & try again on another day.

Dakara, a brilliant post-ep discussion. Just like you said - even when we have a MOW episode, there is so much character growth (all of our main cast) and relationships moving forward (in this episode: Astrid and Walter, Olivia and Peter, Olivia and Broyles, Walter and Broyles...) Also, I believe that (very perceptive) Peter has worked out that Olivia is a person that CANNOT be pushed and harried - he just has to be patient...

Neumann

idky but this episode just sticks with me despite it being kind of a nothing episode plot-wise. maybe it's because it's like the fringe take on 'the hills have eyes' only with more compassion towards the 'hill people', or maybe it's all the little moments scattered throughout not just with the main cast but with characters like rose, teddy, and even joe, that they all clearly don't want this to go on but feel like they're trapped in this cycle for their own safety. i really don't know but i found myself looking forward to you seeing this own despite knowing nothing crazy was going to happen to elicit a big response lol

Honestly, this is one of my favorite episodes. As Neumann said, it sticks with you. Personally I enjoy the stories that don't further the main story arc because otherwise the series would be one or two seasons. These more personal and relatable episodes make you get a bit worked up that ultimately leads to an emotional catharsis. Now obviously none of us are people that have been experimented on and suffer from mutations, but feeling like outsiders or being those that don't want to leave town (or even the house) are real things. This series goes back and forth between therapy and horror and that's a helluva drug. Thanks as always Dak, loved the reaction and the outro. You're the best!

This episodes, like others have mentioned, really are the true backbone of the show and this one is no different, i love that no matter what crazy science they bring to an episode the core of the story is always about people and their struggles in the world.

Nice to see young Shawn Spencer (Liam James) from Psych popping up as Teddy.

Walter's "friend", whom he quoted: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" was Science Fiction author Arthur C. Clarke.

Don

Your initial gut reaction to Walter continuing to get Astrid's name wrong (it was funny at first but at this point it seems excessive) is pretty insightful. I've watched fringe from front to back at least 8 times and never noticed the excessiveness of the running joke until the last few times. The excessiveness of that running joke was indicative of some behind-the-scenes issues between Jasika Nicole (who plays Astrid) and a few of the producers. Jasika didn't have any issues with the cast whatsoever btw. Nothing but mutual love there. It's slightly eye-rolling when I see that joke in the show now but oh well. I just know it was an issue caused by a few immature produces of the show so it doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the shows. https://tvline.com/news/fringe-jasika-nicole-astrid-wrong-name-joke-was-tasteless-2915126/ https://toofab.com/2020/08/25/fringe-jasika-nicole-racism-racist-joke-name-astrid/

For me it was that it's always her name, no one else's. I feel if he fluffed up on others now and again I'd have found it endearing but Astrid and Walter have one of THE best friendships on the show, that's the bit that doesn't track. Thanks for making me aware of this Don.
