Hello All!

PETER!!! He better be okay, my heart can't take it! The fact Walternate took his grandson's DNA to trigger the device that will destroy the world his son is in IS CRAZY TO ME! I definitely should have thought about that prior...I'm surprised that he's willing to sacrifice Peter to save his own world. I'd have thought he'd have rather locked Peter away during this process to keep him safe but I guess in his mind he assumed that the second Peter arrived in redverse he'd want to remain there? IDK. Let's hope that Sam helps Olivia and the team to get to the bottom of this crazy war and find another way to potentially avoid destruction altogether!

Much love

Dakara x

I don't know why we can't just have Polivia being happily in love and Olivia witnessing the eccentricity of the Bishop household. I'd watch it lol This is so nitpicky but it bugged me then and it bugs me now - that childhood photo that Olivia was looking at makes no sense. Within the universe Peter looks really young in that photo and it says something about 84-85 league (?) so unless he managed to snag it as a souvenir from his universe, it's a photo of Walter's Peter and if that's the case why would our Peter keep a photo of his dead counterpart? Not to mention if Walter's Peter died in 85 (and our Peter almost died in 85 as well) how the hell would he be playing football shortly before. We know he's been sick for a long time and wasn't socialised because of it. (Also judging by that photo none of the boys playing bb Peter looked remotely similar to bb Josh lol) My goddddd what a ridiculous thing to overthink and comment on for the first time in ages (life's been rough ugh). Sorry!!! Slightly better comment: bb Henry switching from red to blue beanie as Fauxlivia's allegiance changed was a lovely touch :)

Oh boy this episode, there’s so many things to talk about, in terms of the episode in general i want start with the pacing because this is one of those episodes that just doesn’t let you breathe for a second from the moment Peter and Olivia receive the news of vortex until Peter tries to get into the machine and we sort of have a quieter moment with Walter in the chapel, such good pacing to start off with this last 3 episodes that kind of work as a 3 part finale in the way they are structured, and next week is going to get crazy, cannot wait for it. There could be something to say for each scene in this episode because it’s that good but i’ll focus on my favourite ones, the first one is what i like to call the Bishop’s house morning mayhem with Walter walking around naked and telling Olivia to get slippers because it gets chilly 😂, i love how light and happy this scene is because we really need it in this episode and in general we need it in a show that during this season has gotten more and more dark, the happy scenes have to be good or all the suffering the characters go through is not worth it and the writers of Fringe understood that very well and balanced light and dark scenes masterfully imo and once again seeing Olivia happy just breaks my heart because i know it won’t last. The next scene i want to highlight is the conversation between Peter and Walter in the lab and the way that scene embodies how much these characters have evolved throughout the show from their starting point in season 1, Walter (like Bell said in the last ep) has learned the value of humility and now is able to understand that he can’t control everything and sometimes he has to let go even when it comes to his son and Peter has found a purpose for himself after so many years of wandering around the world looking for one, he finally feels like he has found a true home and is not afraid to sacrifice himself to protect it, such good writing. The last scene i want highlight is perhaps the most important one, Walter in the chapel, i don’t think i’m exaggerating when i say that it might be the most important scene in the whole show when it comes to the character of Walter because it encapsulates perfectly his whole struggle throughout the show, i just love how central they have made Walter’s conflict with god/faith in the show, it’s just makes him so much more interesting and layered, just a masterclass in writing and especially in acting from John Noble that just wrecks you with every look in this episode. Ok i think that for that’s enough from me XD, i wrote this comment immediately after the reaction because i wanted to get my thoughts out asap so now i’m going back to watch the post ep discussion. Dakara, as always a wonderful reaction and next week is finale week…. oh boy, i won’t spoil anything but as a word of caution i will say this, next week’s episodes are going to get crazy to levels previously unreached by the show and at times you are going to question what you are seeing/where it’s going but remember to trust in the show, no matter wha happens, trust in the show and it will always be rewarding. Anyways i feel like that’s already too much and maybe i’ll edit it out later but i really can’t wait for next week!! P.S. I didn’t talk about Fauxlivia in this ep who makes a pretty big choice and i wonder how people feel about it, for me it’s perfectly consistent with the evolution of her character throughout the season and i really like it.

Don't be too hard on yourself over not seeing how Peter's DNA could be used with the machine. I'm sure most of use didn't see it coming either, as neither did I.

So, it would appear that Walternate accelerating Alt-Olivia's pregnancy had nothing to do with defeating the virus (VPE?), he did not care whether she survived so long as they got the baby, and couldn't wait, either...

Mirko Paskota

Dakara, You did not comment at all on baby's name, I hope you noticed it during edit. Henry. Obviously named after our favourite taxi driver, who delivered him... Also, notice how Alt-Brendan outwitted Alt-Olivia: there were 6 harmonic rods in that box, and we remember that all 6 are needed - 3 in each universe, to form 2 triangles - Alt-Olivia clearly had no way of knowing this (and even if she did, how was she going to place the 3 in OUR universe..?) Still, she tried (to cross over)!

DakaraJayne

I did clock the name BUT I was confused because in my head it was our Olivia that had the friendship with Henry not alt liv and I didn't wanna sound stupid lol. I missed that with Brandon! Fair play lad haha

Mirko Paskota

You are quite correct, it was our Olivia. However, Henry saw Alt-Olivia one day and thought it was the Olivia he knew, even if she behaved as she had never seen him... And then, in the episode, Alt-Lincoln introduced him as "you can trust him" and the bond was instantly established...

Neumann

as dubious as i am of walternate at all times, the whole thing with VPE is that it's often fatal to either mother or child, and it's common for both to die. i don't think there would be a way to control or predict which one would survive in a normal case. his ultimate goal may not have been to save olivia, but it WAS to ensure he got his grandchild's dna

Neumann

to answer your question about other walters: no other universes are involved in this skirmish, the red and blue ones are the 2 damaged ones. assuming there are other universes, they're fully intact and progressing as normal. if walter had crossed over to one of THOSE, redverse would just be switched out and would be completely fine

Mirko Paskota

Exactly! Furthermore, he could get the DNA even if the baby did not survive...from a dead body...
