Hello All!

WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!! I can't cope, it's too much for my tiny brain to deal with...Peter, why did you and where did you go??? The observers all watching in preparation gave me chills - I'm not prepared for what's ahead, I also can't wait for it!!! This episode was a wild ride as was season 3 as a whole! Bring on season 4!!

Much love

Dakara x

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Having trouble watching this video? Please follow the below steps:

- Please make sure you are signed into your Google Account to watch the google drive links. The links are temperamental if you are not signed in.

- If for whatever reason the links still aren't working for you, please try an alternative browser. For example, if you are using Microsoft edge please try google chrome. Again though, you must be signed into your google account.

- The above should solve your issues, in the odd case it doesn't, I can only put it down to it being a fresh upload and too many people are accessing the link...on this occasion I typically leave a temporary link at the bottom of the description. This lasts for 4 weeks after my initial posting. The exceeded views does reset so please be patient & try again on another day.

AEON_42

Same dude 😅😁😆

AEON_42

And at season finale come on…😁

DB

I was planning on leaving the office right after watching the finale and now I don't know if I should just go home and watch it there later or stay in and wait... Decisions decisions... ETA: thank gods I went home, wouldn't want anyone at the office think I'm that dedicated to work 😅

FedeM

the links disappeared like someone else did...

christian chirico

Too soon, i know this finale aired almost 15 years ago but i still haven’t recovered from it 😂😭.

DB

@christian lmao was gonna reply the same

christian chirico

I’m just glad that i didn’t catch up with the show until season 4 was already airing because i don’t think i could have handle that wait after this finale 😅, i really don’t know how people did.

DB

@christian I think everybody was busy with the annual "possible cancellation" threat to compensate lol

christian chirico

That’s true i remember hearing it at the time, you know what though? In some weird twisted way i think this could have actually worked as a series finale, an incredibly sad and heartbreaking one that’s for sure, but one that people wound not have forgotten any time soon.

DB

One of my absolute favourites has that kind of a finale and when done well (when it makes sense) it can be absolutely brilliant. Not mentioning the title nor details because I'm still hoping Dakara reacts to it some day ;)

christian chirico

Agreed that it has to make sense, both for the show as a whole and in terms of timing and i do think overall for the type of show Fringe is at it’s core the finale of season 5 does fit much better as a series finale with the tone and messaging of the show, we’ll talk about it more in depth when Dak gets there though.

Thank you for the quick reply!! Can't wait to see it.

Just a heads up Dakara, the Google Drive link you posted doesn’t have access granted. I thought it was fixed, but I was just on the Dropbox link instead. Oops. But the Dropbox link works fine. However, I’m curious whether others can use the “message” button, or if it’s just not working for me? The browser and device I’ve been using (abslightly older iPad) can be a little weird when it comes to some things working. So it may just be me.

DakaraJayne

When you can, refresh the post and try again, hopefully all is working but please let me know if there are still issues 🥰

Will Sofer

It’s working! I also figured out that I could still message you through the Community tab, since we had a prior conversation. As you’ve probably already seen. You pretty much fixed the issue right as I was messaging you about it. Ha. :)

Awesome reaction! As far as I am concerned (to answer your first question) it's pretty clear that they are referring to the fact that Walter is responsible for breaking the universe and that's why he's in prison. This is such an important and complicated episode. The origin of the machine it's so simple and it's crazy that in a way, no one saw it coming (since its specifically connected to Peter and Olivia, and it's not like a prophecy or magic show) of course it came from someone who knew and trusted them both.. Walter. The first people didn't exist. They are a explanation made by someone from the past who discovered the drawings and schematics for the machine and it's coordinates as a possible explanation for the discovery (the Sams). Walter built the machine (created) and sent its components through time into both universes, so they can find them and build them. A few things. Peter wasn't supposed to exist in our universe, he was supposed to die with Walter not being able to save him. Walternate was meant to cure his Peter (therefore the Peter we know was supposed to live, but not here) - remember the observer distracted Walternate when he found the cure. This event is what sparked Walter's decision to cross over to try to save Peter and started the war (and linking the universes). And since Peter was not meant to exist in our world, the observers (not a spoiler since it was clear they did it) erased Peter this episode once he stepped into the machine and bridged the universes in this point at the machine (thus completing his ''purpose'').

If there's one thing that the film/tv industry is consistent with is aging the characters by giving them terrible hair/wigs lol What did they do my beautiful Astrid and whyyyyyyy (still not as bad as Sam's iconic SPN finale wig tho ;)) Josh is now future Peter's age so that's a nice reminder we're all old farts now. The lucky bastard is however aging like fine wine. BTW one of things I was trying to send you was to be opened after S3 finale so on the upside you wouldn't have to wait now lol I don't remember that much of S4 and 2-3 scenes aside nothing of S5 so I'm looking forward to seeing those!

Katie

Oooh you're so lucky you don't remember seasons 4 and 5. They're my favourite seasons. I can't wait for Dakara to react to them!

Audra Foxgrove

I obviously don’t want to say too much because spoilers, but what I will say is this: even though I know you feel confused and unsure about how the next season will go, I’m very confident as both a fan of the next season, a fan of yours, and someone who pays attention to your after episode discussions— you are in for some good shit and I can’t wait.

Michael R

I just wanna thank you once again Dakara. You took a chance with this show following up Buffy (and Firefly) with Fringe is not a choice any other reactor has been willing to make. Personally I'm still in shock that you were so willing to go down this road and so amazingly happy that you did. Now we're three seasons in and I am pretty confident that you are happy with the choice you made in watching Fringe. As I said way back at the beginning, it is my favorite show, bar none, Buffy was wonderful but this show we're watching now is special beyond words. I have lived in fear when talking about the actual show with you that I would say something that would seriously spoil you, so I have been very careful (and still am as we enter into Season Four) not to get too specific about what is to come, but I have loved the experience of watching this show with you. You're like a best friend sitting on the couch watching with me. You laugh, you cry, you smile, you get angry, just like I do and each week has been a joy to know I'm gonna be able to watch a couple of episodes with you. Thank you again for taking a chance on Fringe.

christian chirico

Absolutely agree they are my favourite seasons as well (tied with season 2 that still holds a special place in my heart) and i can’t wait for Dak to react to them!!

christian chirico

Peter? Who’s Peter? Joking aside i’m so happy we have finally reach this moment in the show and boy your reaction DID NOT disappoint, i loved seeing your shocked/confused face throughout this episode XD. In regards to the episode itself i don’t have that much to say actually, that final scene remains the most shocked i’ve ever been whilst watching an episode of television to this day, don’t get me wrong i knew that Peter was absolutely gonna suffer some consequences by stepping into the machine, as they told us many times, but i really did not see the “erased from the timeline” twist coming not even for a second and it truly left me speechless. Absolutely loved all of the stuff in the possible/alternate future we see, from Ella being a Fringe agent to Peter and Olivia being married, they really used the time jump in a smart way. The plot gets a little complicated there at the end with Walter explaining how the machine ended up in the past but the important stuff to remember is that the machine is on temporal loop and that loop starts with the fringe team finding the machine then them Peter activates it (the reason is probably different in every loop) only to find out that they are actually the ones that sent it back through time in the far past through the wormhole in central park that they talk about in this episode, that’s the loop that Walter talks about in his conversation with Peter and that’s why he says that he has to send back the machine because he has already done it, the only thing that changed in this particular loop is that Walter managed to modify the machine to allow Peter to see the consequences of his action before actually doing them and that’s how they escape the loop and this time instead of destroying the Redverse Peter opens a permanent door between them. Now i won’t go too deep in the new timeline that has formed without Peter because that’s season 4 territory, but i will say this, pay really close attention in the first few episode because there going to be a lot of new information thrown at you and a lot has changed so don’t worry if you don’t understand/catch everything imminently because it’s perfectly normal. And Peter? Well you’ll have to wait to find out but i will say that season 4 is my favourite season so take that as you will ;) Other people have already commented on this but i want to reiterate just how good and enjoyable you reactions to this show are, you are truly making me feel like i’m watching it for the first time again, keep it up!! There could a lot more to talk about like all of the amazing Polivia scenes in this ep or even the involvement of the observer at the end but for now i’m going to leave it a that because there will be lots of time to talk about it later on. P.S. If you are interested ( you don’t have to react to it if you don’t want to) there is a deleted scene from this episode on youtube where we hear Peter’s word during Olivia’s funeral and while i actually love what they did in the actual episode with just the music i do think is speech is beautiful and if you are interested i’m gonna put the link below if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e00yUbovMB0
