Hello All!

SOUTHER NOOOOOOO!!! I can't even...this SHOW-it's too much!!!! I felt attacked watching this one, like a scolded puppy, sulking when I got an outcome I didn't want haha. What a bloomin' twist though, the intensity factor turned to 11! Incredible storytelling and once I pick my jaw up off the floor and reattach it to my face, I may be able to digest what I've seen - no promises...

Much love

Dakara x

Oh gosh the anticipation is building so much...

DakaraJayne

it's too much to handle already what do you mean building??!!! Oh jeez I'm not ready am I???

Jack

Lol, I won’t say any more. Suffice it to say I’m excited!

Mirko Paskota

A little detail, almost lost amongst all the 'big' stuff, but touching - Cotyar's palpable relief when he realises that Avasarala managed to escape ...

Blunderbutts

Gods this is one of my favourite episodes - the UNN fleet absolutely falling to bits with Souther and Nguyen is a brilliant bit of TV. Imagine how that must have been for the other ships - You get one message from an Admiral that was originally in charge of your fleet, telling you he's arrested the other one. You then get a second message from the apparently arrested guy, and then your own flagship starts firing on other UNN ships. Absolute chaos from start to finish.

Shawn Anomaly

Warned you this was coming! If you think this was turned up to 11, just wait til the next episode, lets just say it's going to be turned up to 21 by time it's over AND it's going to outdo this episode. You're in for the shock of your life next episode! Next week can't come soon enough!

Shawn Anomaly

You definitely are not! Nobody's been able to be prepared for what happens the next episode. Might as well get your heart and mind as ready as it can be!

Isak Haugerud

It's great to see how much you love and appreciate this show! You're one of us now, the Screaming Firehawks 😁 I can't erase my memory and watch it again for the first time. But watching it again through your eyes and seeing how immersed and mind blown you are, is bringing back some of that magic, so thank you for that.

Jack

Wow… I was avoiding hyping up a specific episode and just talking generally 😕 Generally think it’s not a good idea to hype it up because at best it then “meets expectations” and at worst it fails to live up to it. I know Dak will love the next episode no matter what we say, but still, hyping it doesn’t help the reactor, the reaction, or the viewers.

Robert

Don't feel bad that the episode got to you. That scene between Naomi and Holden was worthy of an Emmy! It was past time that Naomi got a chance to explain herself. It was just beautifully done. Then the mutiny. What can be said? It was obvious that Souther didn't want to do it, but all the evidence pointed to Nguyen being in bed with Mao and Errinwright. Then the attempted rescue. It was a very intense episode. Side note: The scene where Cotyar shows relief when he finds out Chrisjen is alive. I've said it before, there is an obvious bond there, and if they don't wind up together....I don't know!

AC10

I can almost taste the The Expanse in the air this morning....

"I can't erase my memory and watch it again for the first time. But watching it again through your eyes..." Beautifully said. If I could ever look back on my life and see a new human enjoying INCREDIBLE stories like this and think that I had any tiny part in bringing them to enjoy this experience for themselves that so many of us already love.... Then I would be looking back smiling. 🤗

AC10

This is a great take. And important. Anyone reading this take some time and try and put yourself in the shoes of every important character in this episode (and repeat this again and again for every other episode) and only think about the information they have available at that time in that moment and think about what you would do differently (or the same) as they did... with the same information.... It's wild.

AC10

😭

PongPong31

Right? The show does go down so many avenues and threads, all managing to keep you hooked. Like Alex with his son's message. I knew that was going to get the waterworks going. Such purity of base emotion. Hits different than it probably would have, if you had picked this show, before bringing your own little man into this world, no? And thank YOU, for sticking to it! 10/10 reaction to a 10/10 episode.

Beat Conductor

I'm glad you picked up on the fact that the Martians were right behind the UNN on the path to mutiny. Not many people catch that. Kirino is a great captain.

DakaraJayne

Is that the female captain? If so I did take a shine to her

Jack

Yeah, it's especially wonderful watching parents react to this show, not only with Alex's son but also with Prax's hunt for Mei, the children on Anderson Station, and Avasarala's and Naomi's backstories with their sons - this show loves to tug at parental heartstrings most of all!

PongPong31

If my comment is picked, I hereby designate yours as an official addendum to it.

Beat Conductor

Yes. That would be her. The Martian Officer Corp always impressed me with their cool, open minds, and rational thought. Rarely, if ever, acting in haste or emotion.

PongPong31

Whiffs of Alex's lasagna?

Another great episode reminded me a lot of some aspects of Babylon 5 , no drummer though sadly else this would have been another 10/10

Tony Leadholm

Yes! So many reactors don't seem to catch that moment of pure joy/relief on Cotyar's face as he realizes Crisjen made it through unscathed. It absolutely warms my heart each time I get to that scene. This show has such full-bodied characters coming in from every which way. Just a master work of proper storytelling.

Dylan Monaghan

You know what I think is incredible about the writing of this show is that all these minor characters got a real chance to shine, we felt so attached to them even though the screen time they had was very little compared to our Roci crew. The way that Naomi and James talked is phenomenal too! There was no need for drama just two people from very different beginings just saying how they feel and being acknowlegded for that. I love this show! And am absolutely loving being on this journey with you albeit a little late haha big love from Australia <3
