Hormones are cruel creations to exist and the writers love to mess with me while mine are heightened! How dare they! Great ep though, the shifters may not be my fav but they soon changed that introducing the typewriter at the end there! Walter and Peter's story stole the ep though for me, no surprises there.

Phew, that’s a tough episode to rewatch, those Peter and Walter scene really try to break you 😭. Those scenes are a prime example though of what i meant in previous comments when i was talking about how this new timeline would allow us to see the relationships between the characters from a different perspective because now we almost have a reversal of what happens at the end of season 2/beginning of season 3 when Walter was trying to salvage his relationship with Peter after he found out the truth and now Peter is the one that is going to have to fight for this relationship by making Walter believe that he does deserve a second chance and that reversal really allowed a fresh perspective into their dynamic imo. It’s definitely hard to see Peter and Olivia so distant from each other in this episode but it makes so much sense because with Peter having all of the memories he has he is super confident in the way he talks to her but to her it feels like an aggression because she feels one step behind in her conversations with this man because and we know already that when Olivia feels threatened she tends to retreat into herself which is what she does in this episode, their journey is going to be a tough one for sure but i think i think you’re really gonna like it in the end. I’m loving all of your post ep theories, your really covering all of the options and trying to decipher the story and so far you’ve do a great job, obviously i’m not gonna reveal if any of those theories are correct but i love hearing them!! We got a little bit more from the Nina and Olivia relationship in this episode and i always found this change in the timeline so fascinating and interesting, we’ll get more in future episodes so there will be time to talk about it but it’s for sure one of my favourite changes. On that note that scene between Walter and Nina was just spectacular and it is something that i think was partly missing in the og timeline because we never really got a full confrontation between them about the night he crossed over, yes they talked about it in passing but i love that in this ep we really delve deep into it. The shapeshifter come into play big time in this ep and now they actually fiction as they should and yeah this new version are really scary, the fact that they can easily switch between all of the identities the have taken is crazy. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s ep. definitely one of my favourites of this early part of the season! P.S. I’m glad that you caught on to the fact that it is weird that with Peter’s absence in this timeline for some reason the shapeshifters are somehow more advance because it is very peculiar but the explanation for it is actually pretty cool and i can’t wait for you to find out!

I don't think Olivia would remember meeting Peter as a kid because technically that didn't happen in this timeline. In blueverse it was a few months after Walter brought Peter from his universe but in here he drowned. And I always assumed none of them remembered it because of their childhood traumas (easier explanation - a plot hole lol) and that montage was nothing more than that - a cute montage for the viewers without any deeper meaning. It's not like it showed all the events from Peter's POV as some sort of revelation. Plus realistically speaking I doubt anyone would remember a random kid you met once when you were 8. I don't think I remember anyone I went to primary school with and I would see them every day for years 😅 I'm sorry, I'm still not sold on this season although now that Peter's back I'm hoping it'll change. It's just that he's the stand in for the viewers POV and I find it particularly frustrating to be doing all this emotional work for 3 seasons creating bonds and relationships just to have it all reset. Why would Peter (or a viewer) want to do it all over again?

Not connecting to a season is completely valid, everyone is drawn to different aspects. Don't worry, I know you're a big fringe fan. It is indeed a friends T 🥰

I think I can shed some light on Nina. She's the head of a company with many government and international contracts and agreements. She doesn't make it a habit to disclose much information. In fact, she tries to give out as little information as possible out of habit. Who knows who's listening? She does this even with the people she trusts so when she doesn't answer right away and needs clarity, it's to make it so she is helpful without unnecessarily and excessively giving out any information. It's just a precaution, not necessarily evasion in this case.

**THERE MAY BE SOME LIGHT SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT, NOTHING CRAZY BUT JUST TO BE SAFE** I get the frustration i really do and i imagine it was even more present for a lot of people when the show was airing weekly but while i understand it for me it’s quite literally the opposite, for me the interesting part is the fact that those relationships that took so long to build are now gone and have to be rebuilt and i especially love that Peter is the only one that remembers them so far, the person who spent so long running away from his home and felt so lost when he found out where he really came from but was then able to build a home for himself with the right people, i think this season is a testament to the evolution/growth of the character of Peter and this is his final “test”, also i have to say that if Peter had come back into a timeline where the people he loves were in a better place than when he left his timeline i would feel very different about this storyline but the fact that each person he cares about is permanently damaged or at least heavily affected by his absence makes his return much more impactful and paves a way for him to once again “fix” this world (or the people close to him) like he did in the og timeline but unlike the og timeline this time he doesn’t have a predetermined destiny to do it, he has to choose to do it. Sorry that comment got away from me there a little, i hope i didn’t come across too strong, i’m not saying my vision of season 4 is the correct one because nobody has all the answers and each person has their personal opinions and taste but i do hope that you will give this season another chance because i really believe it’s a special one.

I completely agree Christian. I think the fact those relationships were so well-built in the first three seasons makes repairing them this season so much more impactful. I really like the fact that Fringe took the bold step to shake things up so drastically. It makes such great TV. That's why seasons 4 and 5 are my favourite.

*pokemon battle music* peter used EMOTION and PATIENCE. it was not very effective! lol unfortunately, olive couldn't've met young peter as she only met him if he survived the lake, which he didn't in this new universe 100% agree with everything christian's comment of the day!

Once again the show cheats by having the shapeshifter put on their victim's clothes in literal seconds after taking their shape. That's how fast they took the agent's identity here, same as they did with Charlie in season 2.
