Simone is brilliant, for a brief part, she pulled me in so well. Hope to see her again. The scene that KILLED me was the Polivia scene though, obviously...they NAILED IT! Dakrya out in full force as always...sorry guys!

Ahhh that last scene with Peter and Olivia!!! I fear that I don't have sufficient words to describe my love for it. As others have commented, Josh has done an amazing job with his slow evolution into an observer and it's great to see Josh do something different. All the other actors have been able to play other versions of themselves but Josh has only played one Peter so to see Josh play a different version of Peter has been great. Josh's acting in this episode is next level. The way that Josh delivers his lines in a typical emotionless Observer way yet also instills so much emotion at the same time. I love the words that Olivia says "Etta's not gone, Peter. Windmark didn't take her. She's still here with us. She saved my life today with the bullet she brought to us. She's alive, inside us. There's nothing that Windmark can do because the love that we can share with her now is invulnerable to space and time, even to them. I know that our hearts are broken and it hurts but that's what makes us human. It's our strength because it's the one thing that they don't have. Now, we need to hold onto our connection with Etta... feeling what we felt for her or she dies all over again. And we cannot let her be erased. Peter, I'm not asking you to abandon her. I'm asking you to hold on to her. You're not one of them, you're one of us. I want you to listen to me. I'm not gonna lose you again. Peter, look at me. I love you." I was gonna cut most of that quote out of this post but I couldn't bring myself to. It's all so good and so powerful. And then to watch Josh's acting as Olivia is saying this stuff you can just see the words melting through that Observer/emotionless barrier. It's still a thin barrier but I also don't think that anyone but Olivia could have gotten through to Peter at this point. The way that Peter breaks down and crumples into Olivia's arms destroys me. Btw the soulmatism of how Peter took that Observer tech out of his neck and put it in Olivia's hand and then Olivia put the bullet that had been in her head into Peter's hand. I love these two and their intracranial or craneal adjacent gift exchanges lol

That last scene is kind of hard to describe honestly, it’s a scene that i feel like wouldn’t really work in most shows because it would feel too “cheesy” or “melodramatic” but here it does perfectly because the characters are so well fleshed out that we understand exactly what’s at stake and why/how these two characters have reached this point, everything is laid out and then Olivia does the impossible (as usual) and manages to convince Peter to forsake this road of vengeance and keep the memory of Etta alive, god the fact that the episode starts with people scraping out the poster of Etta and it ends with Olivia saying that if Peter continues down that road she will be erased is just *chef’s kiss* . Also call me corny but i love the use of those quick flashed of memories to represent Peter trying to remember the important parts of his life and i love it because in this season Polivia has been mostly separated and it makes it so that you kinda forget what they look when they are together and those flashes help us remind us of that as much as Peter. This show is very carefull with its use of “I love yous” but man when they decide to drop that line it’s always extremely impactful and the fact that most of them come from Olivia who (like you pointed out Dak) is by far the most guarded/reserved character in the whole show is great because then when it happens you know that it’s something specials Olivia’s interactions with Simone are awesome, two women similarly gifted that have a completely outlook on why they were “given” those abilities and man that speech from Olivia about how she is an anomaly is amazing and perfectly encapsulates her as a character. “ I’ve seen the fabric between the universes ripped apart, things humans shouldn’t see” I don’t know how they did it but somehow they managed to make a used bullet slug the most thematically perfect object, it really is astounding. Windmark is truly the worst isn’t he? And i’m saying it in a complementary way btw, that fight between him and Peter was so cool and in general i enjoyed the game of cat and mouse that they played in this episode a lot. Boy we are really flying through this season aren’t we? Next week are going to be an amazing duo fo episode and i especially want to see you reaction to ep 9, i’m really curious 😂. P.S. Btw i’m glad that you noticed the differences in the way Walter and Olivia approached trying to convince Peter with Walter emphasizing what would happen to him if Peter went through with it whereas Olivia focused more on the effects of Peter himself, i think the reason why that is related to Walter’s brain and the fact that he keeps inching closer and closer to “the man he once” was and that imo is why he wasn’t able to get through to Peter, in other circumstances i feel he would have been able to.

Remember S03 E03? The Platau in the redverse where the character Milo was able to predict futures like the observers do? He put the pen on the newspaper stand to create a chain reaction. The scene in this episode with Peter putting the tea cup on the edge of the trash can was mirroring that scene. The next episode in kind of crazy, but a really good one. And the one after that ...well...one of the biggest F U's in TV history any character has uttered (figuratively speaking), and an amazing character arc is revealed.

One of the cool things about the observers for me is that every single ability they have has been showcased in some form throughout the show, often in a more rudimentary form but all of their abilities originate from an episode of the show, it really makes them feel like a future version of humans and it’s great.
