Hello All!

What a cracking episode this was! Loved the intensity, the story progression and the character dynamics in this one. Mulder getting tested to his limits and Scully trying to put out fires left right and centre! BRILLIANT episode! Fab finale and great cliff hanger for the start of season 3! Season 2 is officially wrapped and I can't wait to dive deeper into this world!

Much love

The tag at the beginning says "The truth is out there" or "The truth is far from here" in Navajo. Season 3 is one of the best of the series. You're gonna love it! I'm really excited for it!

Interesting episode.

It's a refrigerated boxcar, not a spaceship. And there would have been another way out of it. Mulder would be insulated from the charge, all he'd have to do is wait for the fire to burn out, then work his way back through. Like how they worked the Navajo code talkers into it. It was a small group, but they made all the difference. Not enough has been said about their contribution.

It was so frustrating watching this episode; it had a movie-like quality. With one suspenseful turn after another. First, the interesting start of the episode in New Mexico (actually British Columbia), then Mulder's weird behavior, followed by getting the mother of all X-files, then the frustration of it being encrypted. Followed by the smoking man paying a visit to Mulder's father, and then finding out they knew each other when Mulder's father was at the State Department. Then Scully was almost shot in the head. Then Krycheck killed Mulder's father. Then, getting a "to be continued" at the end was like NOOOO! With it being the season 2 finale, it made it extra frustrating. Good that you don't have to wait a whole summer to start Season 3. Also, this is the start of a trilogy of episodes with the same storyline.

Adama gets riddled with bullets, Mulder get blown to smithereens. Not a great couple of back to back finales for you. Chin up, we go again!

It was so hard to not mention that we see Krycek again. That guy showing up was always such a big deal. The "Next Week on The X-Files" preview with a Krycek reveal meant we were in for a doozy and did not disappoint. What a great episode that really deepened the alien mythos. Can't wait for the 3rd season!

OK lets start at the end the good old fashioned 'TO BE CONTINUED'. We were loving you pondering the finale, well this story is far from over! In the previous episode at Chaco Chicken when Mulder was looking at the bones he foreshadowed the name of this episode referencing the ancient Anasazi tribe in New Mexico that practiced cannibalism. This one had everything fast paced with paranoia, intrigue and tension reaching new levels. We have The Lone Gunman back, The Thinker, and Mulder acting so erratically we knew something was wrong. Tying in the old lady shooting the husband in the apartment block, and our earlier suspicions of Mulder's father. When CSM turns up at Mulder's father we know there is so much more to reveal. That MF Krycek back again doing CSM's dirty work in murdering Bill Mulder. Scully gets the two key words from the Native American lady in merchandise, and vaccination, and then we get further reveals in Scully's name being mentioned and the word Test also. Love the fact that they mention Operation Paper Clip here with the Nazi scientists given cover in USA after the war, just brilliant. This one aired in Autumn 1995 so we had to wait until Autumn 1996 for it ' TO BE CONTINUED', but some of us did not! There was no way we could left with this cliffhanger until the following year! This truly was The Unopened File.
