I would choose read peoples' mind, so I can find out why someone made this episode *rolls eyes* the worst episode of Lucifer. Gonna be a struggle to watch the reaction. I am hella negative about this episode :) Well I made it through the reaction (barely). It was nice seeing you happy when you saw the cast, but yeah... also, this episode provides a plot hole for the show. Lucifer season 1, he got shot while wearing this IMMORTALITY RING and died. C'mon writers.

Loved the episode and having our questions answered about the ring... the ring with Lilith's immortality in it. I remember thinking at the time if now we know about the ring and its history and what it contains if we will see Lilith again, if it will be of any importance to the story going forward, how Maze will cope with this cold rejection from her own mother and how she will feel knowing her mother was alive land not far away all this time she has been on earth and that lucifer kept that secret from her? (Oh Michael you and your wicked ways)! I also loved the Luci and Trixie scenes even though the little minx was playing lucifer in order to find out the secret that he knew about Maze- clever but devious little madam who did it so well! Looking forward to returning to the main storyline again in the next episode and onwards! I cannot wait for more of your thoughtful and entertaining reactions!

Maybe Lucifer doesn't use or need an immortality ring. I always assumed it was for mortals only. No spoilers but that idea still works for me and we are only guessing how it works and if it works but there could be other solutions concerning celestial immortality.

Reading peoples minds is fraught what with the whole concept of, do you really want to know what someone thinks about you. I supposed I'd go with seeing the future complete with the danger of self full filling prophecies. The episode was very much a homage to the old Film Noir days and the likes of Boggy and Bacall. With a tip of the hat to Peter Falk's, Grandpa role in the Princess Bride. Of all the long running shows I've watched that have had a historic episode with the cast playing ancestors or other such roles. I'd say this had the most elements of humour. It was great to see the show runners acknowledge Tricia Helfer's popularity by including her in this episode. The Ring is, as Lucifer said, only important to him as it reminds him of an old friend. The fact that Lilith put her immortality into it is Irrelevant, as Lucifer is an immortal, except when he's near the detective. We know it didn't make mortals bullet proof before Lilith breathed her immortality into it and we don't know for sure what would happen now.

This was such an interesting episode! I loved seeing the cast play other characters except tom who still played lucifer. I was so happy to see Tricia who played charlotte & Shirley in this ep, it was such a nice surprise! I loved learning about maze and Lilith's backstory, I think Lilith was genuine when she said she wanted them to be strong which is why she sent them to hell so they didn't have a family or home to be kicked out from the way she was kicked out of the garden and it seemed that hurt her. When we see Lilith in the present she says : I tried something, it didn't work out" It seems like being a mortal didn't turn out how she expected. Though of course I hate how cold she was to maze, Poor maze, she just keeps getting hurt. I agree with you that even though this was a filler I loved how creative they did this ep to show us Lilith's backstory, and we got to hear Lesley and tom have a duet which was amazing, they're both so talented. Loved your reaction as always! Super excited for the next two eps!!

What part of the episode made you think the ring makes anyone immortal . . . . . . ? It didn't, and now just happens to contain something it still doesn't. Surely that can't be the reason you dislike what is one of the best stand-alone Lucifer episodes?

Um? The part where she literally puts her immortality into the ring? Or the other part where she was thrown into a volcano and lived, so the immortality doesn't just mean long life.

The ring is clearly stated to just be a ring, and had nothing to do with why she is immortal. They couldn't have made that part clearer, it is the basis of the entire ending of the flashback. She contains her immortality in the ring at the end, but nobody said it made the ring magic - it is just a ring still that is now also a container. You would have to find a way to remove it from this container and put it inside yourself to become immortal.

35:50 'The ring doesn't do a damn thing, the ring doesn't work'. It's also stated during the volcano example that people only thought she survived that due to the ring, whereas actually she survived it due to being herself. Also, angels self-actualise, which means that if Lucifer wants to make himself vulnerable as in the S1 finale, he will be vulnerable whether he's wearing a ring designed to prevent it or not.

(she hasn't put her immortality into it yet at 35:50 @Rtozier2011 as for the vulnerability.. Lucifer said to Amenadiel that Amenadiel made himself more mortal than he thought, MORTAL.

I enjoyed it too 💙 was a different style for lucifer. A little quirky and I loved that Trixie was a part of it. Nice little twist at the end wasn’t it? Haha. I really hope you enjoy the reactions to come as well Celia thanks so much for watching

I definitely would be waaay to sensitive to hear those kinds of thoughts. I think you’ve made a good choice on the would you rather Robin :) Thoroughly enjoyed the different style of episode for lucifer as a one off. Couldn’t agree more, Tricia is amazing and so lovely to see her again. Ahhh interesting, so the ring could potentially be passed on to Chloe perhaps?! It could also mean nothing at all haha. The volcano example you cited was before this flashback. Your emphasis of mortal is irrelevant as far as I can see: it's established that angels make themselves anything.

This was an interesting episode, it was fun to see most of the regular cast playing different characters, especially Kevin Alejandro (Dan) as Willy and Tricia Helfer being back in this was a massive shock that I'm glad wasn't spoiled for me. As for your Would you Rather, I would go with be able to predict the future, seeing whats in peoples heads may sound good on paper but their might be some disturbing things in their that I would rather not see. Also I probably wouldn't try and predict everything, I'd want to leave some surprises in life but it would be a neat parlor trick at parties.
