Happy SPN Monday folks!

Let's get stuck into 14x13 guys! WARNING - Many tears shed!

Thank you all so so much for watching, hope you all enjoy the video & I will look forward ro reading your comments as always,

Have a lovely week everyone!

Much love

Dakara x

Rating - 10/10 - Oh my days...what an absolutely heartbreaking but brilliantly executed 300th episode! This one 100% hit different, I lost my dad 2 days after my 24th birthday. Losing a parent is never easy & I just felt for the boys so deeply during this episode. The acting was utterly phenomenal! The dialogue was great too! On reflection some plot I got a little confused about with the whole time changing aspect BUT that was easily looked past during the initial viewing as I was so wrapped up in what this amazing fictional family was experiencing! Enjoy my tears yet again guys.

Brandon

John & Marys reunion is so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. 🥲

Brandon

This episode had me in tears the whole way through, I was right there with you Dakara! Sorry to hear that this episode hits so close to you. :( Cannot wait for the next episode. 14x14 is probably one of my favourites of the season tbh. XD

Helen Wood

I was 47 when I lost my mother. It felt like losing half of myself. This one always gets to me too.

Sharon Etcetera

Aw can not play it right now. Something with limit and views… anyone else?

AussieOfSteel

I'm not an outwardly emotional person, but man, this episode gets me. Just everything: Sam and John finally getting the moment to reconcile, having a family dinner. I love how each of the show's hundred-episode milestones are different. 100th ep was just a plot heavy episode, 200 they dedicated to the fandom with the musical, 300 they bring back JDM! Oh and I dont know if you know, but this is so far the only episode of the entire show where Jensen, Jared, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Samantha have appeared on screen together.

Brenda Lewis

After 14 seasons and they still have these amazing episodes! This show does hit differently. We have this long rich history and when they reach back into the past, they get me every time. No show does time travel like Supernatural, no show can break you like Supernatural. And when they put those two elements together apparently it is the recipe for tears. Just a home run all around. So good, awesome reaction too. Who wouldn't get emotional with this show, they always make a person think about their own life and relationships.

Brandon

Watch the Dropbox version. I don’t think it has the playback issues that google drive usually has.

Helen Wood

That scene where they destroyed the pearl provided the best blooper of the season and watching them literally collapse with laughter in the middle of that intense scene is just wonderful.

Nicole Garver

The guys had announced prior to S14’s airing that 15 would be the end, so they knew exactly what it would mean to finally give us John (JDM, not Matt who I also love) back. He got to give John a bit of redemption and reconciliation and that felt like such a gift. Also finally getting to see Jeff, Sam, Jared, and Jensen sharing scenes felt huge, we’d never had that before. The show made no secret of the plan to have Jeff appearing in the episode (although I wish they had let it be a huge reveal) so we got some AMAZING publicity around it. The magazine EW did a dedicated issue with the most gorgeous “family portraits” that I’m sure are available online - definitely worth looking up. I’m so sorry this brought pain for you on a personal level, believe me when I assure you that we all cried. The fact that Jeff, Jensen and Jared have matching tattoos makes me realize what a family they truly became. ♥️

Gina St Phillips

Yes, as others have said, they knew they were winding down to an end in season 15 so I think this was an emotional touchpoint they wanted to hit before the end. I know they were trying for years to get Jeffrey Dean Morgan back for an episode, and they apparently managed to find a way for this friggin gut punch. Oh, and "Skip Day" or "Senior Skip Day" is a thing in America. On a particular day every year all the seniors skip together and every town has their tradition of what the kids do. In my home town they spend the day at the lake nearby. Many teachers and parents look the other way knowing it is a tradition, but not all. Lord knows my ass was in school on skip day. My mother would have been horrified if I skipped. So basically I was in classes with half the number of students and had a day of watching movies and having extra study halls. Also, I was in band and we were preparing for a huge competition, so every senior in band was at practice. If my band director had to, he would have gone to the lake and carried us back bodily. He was very competitive, lol.

I love how the subjects of every 100th ep is very very different, the first one was an epic resolution for the Winchester and Castiel fight against heaven and hell, breaking destiny and choosing free will (Point of no return), then the ep 200 its made for fans and what the show means to a lot (There’s a delated scene were the girl who wrote the play explains it) not to mention a call back of the road they’ve been with that beautiful cover of “Carry on my wayward son” (Fan fiction) and then this, a shutout for family and even in that matter, Dean came to a realization that he has a family, he has Sam, Cas, Jack, Mary, Jody, Claire and so many more along the road, cause what Bobby teached him its true, Family don’t end with blood ❤️ Really great episode, outstanding acting from everyone and a heartwarming reaction. This show does hit hard in the most unexpected ways ❤️

Jack's World

The *emotional* addition really puts the cherry on top lol

Stacey

I just couldnt get on board with this episode as I am not really a fan of John but I did love seeing JDM return after I think 12 seasons away and I do get why people like this episode, I also loved the throwback to old school cas before he met the winchesters you sort of forget how cold he used to be

Darynidia

Absolutely loved your reaction, as always. This one was particularly great, because I had such a different reaction the first time I watched this episode. For me, it wasn't emotional at all. But seeing how it affected you (especially because of your dad) understandably differently, finally showed me why the fandom loves this episode so much. That doesn't mean it's my new favourite, but I believe it's easier to change perspective for me now. I hope things have cooled down for you and you're able to feel a little lighter again. Sending you lots of love and hugs <3

AdoptDontShopPets

Thank you, Stacey! I am reading through all the comments and thinking, wow they are all going to hate what I have to say. Glad someone else was not enthralled with everything in the episode. 🙌

Selena

I agree! I have mixed feelings about this episode because it felt like they were erasing his past abuse, but sam and dean did need closure with that in order to move on. I also like the hc that that wasn't actual john, but the john that dean desired.

Emme C.

I was fully prepared to dive in this morning when I saw it posted, but then realized I didn’t want to go to work with an ugly cry face. So I think it’s gonna have to wait until this evening. But yay! Can’t wait to watch it.

AdoptDontShopPets

The announcement to the crew and fans that the show was ending, was done when they were wrapping filming of season 14. It is possible that showrunner Andrew Dabb might have known, though I seem to also remember someone saying they might have held JDM’s return to S15 if they had known the show was going to end…but that could just be rumor. Also another interesting tidbit is that at one point Jensen was told that JDM’s management said they could not work out JDM being able to appear in the episode. They might’ve made it sound like he had turned it down/couldn’t fit it in logistically. However Jensen just got on the phone to JDM and asked what was up and of course JDM said absolutely he would be there to do it. Some suspect the management company was either trying to protect JDM’s time, or SPN was not willing to pay JDM’s typical salary. Whatever the case, JDM did have to make a quick one (possibly two) day trip in for the episode. Anyone who remembers the exact specifics, please correct any missed information.

Arushi

Okay this is going to sound like a silly comment (I promise I have a long thoughtful one too!) but can anyone see 14*14 or is it not posted because Dakara usually posts within an hour - both reactions 👀

rose mnor

This episode aired on Feb 7, 2019. Then a month later on March 22, 2019, Jensen, Jared, and Misha announced that S15 was going to be the final season. So yes, when they planned for this episode they already knew that the series was ending. You can watch the announcement video below, spoiler-free. Their faces, especially Jared and Misha, were so obvious that they had just cried themselves, with their bruised, red eyes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVVFZQymnq4

Brandon

I was wondering the same thing. I did send Dakara a private message but I’m just assuming she’s busy and will post ep 14 when she can. Can’t wait to watch 14x14 though, one of my favourites!! :)

rose mnor

According to Wikipedia, the town of Lebanon, Kansas served as the overall geographical center of the United States. And yes, every single time I watched the episode I will cry myself silly. With hitched breaths and all. You and I, Dakara, have one thing in common. We’ve both lost a parent. I lost my mom years ago to cancer, but sometimes I felt the loss like it was yesterday.

DakaraJayne

Sorry for your loss Helen. Sending hugs your way

DakaraJayne

They never disappoint with their hundredth episodes do they?! So strong! Thanks for watching AoS

☆C~H~A~N~D~L~E~R☆

Its just one of the more serious episodes for the more serious die hard fans of the series such as myself..

DakaraJayne

Just incredible! Saaame Brenda! They know how invested we are & they play with our hearts so often haha. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed my reaction :)

How does what John experienced fit into the show’s mythology? It is canon that the character John's relationship with his sons is very complicated, practically abusive. According to Andrew Dabb, this 300th episode explained the difference in John's attitude towards his sons after he returned back to the year 2003, that is after Sam went away, and attribute the reason as his sort of remembering the 2019 reunion, like in a dream. He thinks it is a dream.

rose mnor

Dabb: "... And it didn’t change him, it didn’t change our history, but I would like to think it did, for maybe just a small amount of time, soften him toward Sam [and] Dean. The John we see in Season 1 is very much not the John we’ve talked about who existed before Sam went away. That John was much more hard-edged… And I would like to think that, possibly, this dream, this experience that happened, marks that turning point.” With this episode, everything about John falls into place, including why he is a little softer onscreen in season 1 as contrasted to the memories we hear about him, offscreen.

DakaraJayne

A few technical issues with the processing, I can upload & you guys can watch the dropbox link but apparently people are getting 'views exceeded' warnings on those now too...a little worrying. I'll post but guys, if the views exceed you will need to be patient & try again another day when they reset.

Helen Wood

So sorry for yours, too.

Susan Sebert

Great reaction. Loved the scene between John and Sam, it gave Sam some closure and now he had a little more understanding of being a dad, and doing the best he could. The scene between John and Mary was great since for Mary it seems like a very short time since she was gone. Also loved the final scenes when he told the boys he was so proud of them since I don't think that happened very much if at all while John was alive. There is a great blooper of the scene when they crush the pearl, don't know how they could pull it back together to get that scene done after that. Great episode, multiple tissues.

Ashley

First off, I want to say I'm sorry to hear about your father Dakara. And I want to apologize because this may be a long post. When I watched this episode it kind of broke me. I had to pause multiple times because I was crying so much I couldn't pay attention. Like you, it just hit me differently. My dad passed away in 2010 when I was 22, and hearing Sam and John's conversation just got me. All the things Sam said to John felt so realistic to me. After all the crap they went through, and how complicated their relationship was, Sam just regretted not being able to say goodbye to his dad. IMO the writers really nailed the dialogue for that scene, and Jared & JDM did an excellent job conveying those emotions. It just felt good for Sam's character to finally get some closure with his father. I also enjoyed Mary and John's scenes together. The thought of losing a life partner like both of them have is just a devastating thought to me. So I enjoyed them getting their moments together. And the fact that out of all the things Dean could have wished for he subconsciously just wanted all of his family together again is kind of heartbreaking. At least they all were able to sit down and have a meal together as a family, even it was bitter sweet. Anyway, those are my thoughts lol. Really enjoyed your reaction. Sorry it hit so close to home for you. It definitely was a rough one IMO.

Arushi

Sure thing Dakara, thanks for letting us know! :). And just saw the post...dont fret, even if it doesnt work, we will watch tom! 😅

Marta T

Personally I really loved this episode. There's only one more episode in 327 that make more emotional than this one. It was really good to see John back and have some closure with his family. That scene when his saying good bye to Mary and calling her "my girl"... so good. If I remember correctly that wasn't scripted, it was Jeff adding that. Plus Dean admitting that he is good with who he and Sam are, and he wouldn't change it.

AdoptDontShopPets

Being good with who they are was a very nice touch to the episode

Hasnaa

This isn't my favorite episode coz I feel like they tried to redeem john, I didn't get emotional except when dean says to john "I have a family" it gets me every time coz Sam, Cas, Mary & jack are his family, it might not be john's picture of family but it's the perfect family for dean, it's his family that he formed sob, I love them so much, also dean saying I am good with who I am 😍, loved your reaction so much

Hasnaa

I also don't understand why dean's desire was john but okay, my headcanon is that his wish was a happy dinner with his family so the Pearl made john nice

Ed Green

Maybe the pearl plucked John from the moment when he was feeling the most kindly disposed towards his adult sons, and most wishing to be with them.

Sarah Pflaumer

Never apologize for tears! SPN or otherwise. 🤘🏻

Nancy Nicolai

Don't EVER apologize for crying when watching SPN bc I still do after seeing it hundreds of times also this(or any) episode of tv where a parent dies destroys me and my parents have been gone for over 20 years so hang in there and I'm so sorry about your dad💜💜💜💜p.s. I heard Garyson too he sounds like he was having a blast😉👌

Johann Ludwig

How nice would it be to have a day to talk to our loved ones gone too soon…my heart goes out to you Dakara. I lost my dad on a 04th of July when I was 29, so many things I would want to tell him. I had to stop watching your reaction when you broke down in tears, it brought back too many memories. Thank you for always sharing your genuine emotions with us 🙏

Josee (Griffe)

The episode did fly by. Maybe it's because the whole beginning is a completely different adventure... The impact /surprise on first watch for the 300 th episode was less then for you, because there was so much hype about Jeffrey Dean Morgan coming back. It was still emotional, but not dramatic, if you know what I mean. I read Rose mnor comment quoting Andrew Dabb, and I can see some truth in it, But at the end of the day, we probably wouldn't have the show that we love if John had been a better parent.

Ryan Butler

I lost my Father too. My Mom earlier. Loosing a parent is very hard, and not a fun club to join. I imagine your Father would be so proud of you, though. With the channel you have built and grown, the new friends you have met, and proud of your own family as well. No one truly dies. They live on in you, others....and now that you shared that little snippet of you guys together...because I saw it, thought on it, he lives on in me as well.

Ashley

That's a truly awesome sentiment Ryan. Thank you for that. It really got me choked up when I read it. And I want to give props to whoever edited this video as well. Dakara mentioned it might be rough to edit, but to me it seemed flawless.

Amye Sabin

SPN really isn't a show about hunting monsters, et al. It's a show about family. Hunting is their profession and encompasses who they are as characters, but really it's about the relationships.

Butterfleaz

I’ve just watch your reaction and I’m so sorry about your father. Don’t apologies for crying ❤️ I don’t remember crying a lot the first time I’ve watch this episode but I definitely ugly cried with you this time

Shellbot

I felt that pause in my soul. I hope your dad is resting ♥️ R.I.P to him and my dad 28/4/2019. So much love to you Dakara ♥️♥️

Venice Bitch

LOVED THIS EP SO MUCH! John wasn’t a dick for once that was cool. Omg the Mary and John reunion…SOBBED! We all know that messing around w time always ends bad… Well it’s hard to talk bout this ep cuz non much happened except the whole family was back together even tho it was for just a few hours. Loved it and hated it😩

Kelley Coudriet

I kind of feel like the world the boys were talking about where John goes back with all the future knowledge could be the world where the alternate versions of themselves came from...they didn't seem know about God and the angels or anything that had happened...idk just a thought
