Rating - 8/10 - MOTW was icky! My attention this episode was mainly on Jack & how he wanted to make friends & struggled to. I really felt for him here. He just doesn't understand the world & humanity just yet. It reminds me of when Cas first came to know the boys & it did take him awhile to learn and he'd been around for much longer than Jack has. I'm also worried with him lying to Sam at the end saying that nothing happened. The clash of parenting was strong in this one too, I find the dynamic so interesting.

Omg! I cant believe that in 2 weeks or so, you’ll be ending S14 and getting into the 15 and final season… Im excited and nervous

Chanty Doodles

I loved this episode so much, only because of my precious Jack, he was his adorable old self for most of it and love how he confessed hes only 2 lol. He really wanted to make friends and i did too but it had to end badly. I dont think Jack struggled because of him not knowing people enough because Jack has always put others first and been sweet, he would never be ok scaring kids so this is when i realised his soul is too low or gone, our Jack would beat himself up and stop immediately if he was scaring people. Thankfully he healed the girl though at least but they were too harsh on my baby i think considering they asked him to come and hes literally a toddler playing with weapons. If Jack looked his age, nobody would be blaming him like that. Plus i blame the girl too, its stupid running off when theres a flying blade going all over the garden. I think angels/nephlims being souless isnt the same as humans being souless. All angels dont have souls yet our Cas learned human ways and definetly has emotions. The only thing Jack mostly does struggle with, whether he has a soul or not is that he's still young and naive which makes him easy to manipulate like Jack said "Well im 2".

Freethinker Ang

You’re so right! Angels don’t have souls, and we have seen how they differ. Jack is just more angelic like if he doesn’t have a soul. The issue of him controlling his powers would be there regardless of him having a soul or not. Even with a soul, him being 2, he could easily be manipulated and his intuition may not be on point

Michele

It would be nice if they had that talk with Jack earlier, but I think Jack still would have done what he did. He's young and wanted to impress. He's still have used his powers. I agree with your comments about the Sam/Dean/Jack dynamic and interactions. For Dean, if you don't push for something, he'll take charge. So you have to stand your ground and stand up to him. He may get pissed and yell or such, but he'll at least usually listen too.

Fernando Ducer

I always love watching the episodes with you again. Also I gotta say, your look that day, absolutely gorgeous! About the episode, the MOTW was gross and easily dealt with, plus there were only two deaths. The conversation that Sam and Dean had with Jack at the end was necessary, and it should have happened at the beginning, I agree on that. And Jack blatantly lying inspite his feelings towards the fact, makes more apparent the total loss of his soul, but until now it's not confirmed. So, let's move on from that. All in all, an okay episode, but not one that I would rewatch. I look forward to next weeks episodes and the finale which comes in two weeks time. Hang in there, it's going to be a wild ride as usual. Until the next one.

Susan Sebert

I'm with you, I liked the parts with Jack. I felt so bad for him when the girl got hurt, and Jack not stopping what he was doing when the kids were asking him to stop. He just wants to fit in and he isn't sure how to do that. Cas should have told Dean and Sam about Jack killing the snake before he took off, this might have given them a heads up that something was wrong. Jack accepting to not use his powers without permission seemed to be a relief for him after what happened with the kids, he seemed okay to relinquish that responsibility to someone else. I did notice when Sam & Dean told Jack to remain in the bunker that when Dean lied about why, Sam gave him the "really?" look, as Sam does with so many things Dean says. Glad they told him the truth when they got back, however, I don't know if it would have made a difference with what happened to the girl.

DerJohn

Nice Reaction Like Allways 😊 I personal think its not on him that these girl got hurt, i mean she literally run into that Blade. He could stop yeah, but her way just run into it was really stupid 😅😂

I agree with the sheriff's argument that they should find a way to break the masquerade and prove the existence of the supernatural to everyone. It would equip them better. I think however that the Winchesters, and all hunters, are stuck in the mindset of 'we must preserve the blissful ignorance in others that we can never have' - they're so traumatised by their own hunting experiences and hopelessness that they can't bring themselves to tell the whole truth to mainstream society, for fear they'd inflict that mindset on them. But if I lived in the Supernatural universe, I'd want to know about the monsters. Better a string of sleepless nights than a grisly death.

Hasnaa

The jack part was the only interesting part in this episode imo, i didn't care about the MOTW

Josee (Griffe)

But Dakara was right : if the sheriff truly believe that it is better to tell the truth, he could have at least tried to tell it to his son over the phone and not hesitate to tell him all after. The fact that it was not clear he that he would eventually talk to his son makes me believe it is not that simple. Think of the level of stress and paranoïa already in the world without that fear of the supernatural. Telling everybody would save a some lives, but probably scew up a lot of people that otherwise would be fine. And it could get the ones telling the supernatural truth (the ones that are usually better equiped to deal with the litteral monsters) into asylum, like Anna - as well as Sam and Dean - in seasons 4 & 5.

Josee (Griffe)

They do a lot of dual story lines in season 14, so they have less time to develop the MotW. That could be why the monsters are more different visually but less interesting as a whole. Everything in the case part of the episode is a little more telegraphed, a little more "phoned in" .

Robevania Siqueira da Silva

I was wondering if we had seen this episode already. I distinctly remember when I watched this ep. It was a Friday morning and I thought it was really scary and I remember thinking they won't end this show any time soon, because if in its 14season they still can make an episode like this, we are safe for some time. That same Friday evening I watched the video of the boys announcing that season 15 would be the last one. I was so sad!

DakaraJayne

I knoooow. This makes me so scared. I’m excited to see everything but terrified to reach the end. I’m gonna love watching all the extra content though.

DakaraJayne

Glad this is a favourite ep of yours. Jack is truly special. I love following his journey. I would never have thought I’d love him like I do when we think back to him being in Kelly klines belly haha. Let’s just hope he learns how to control his powers and no one manipulated him in a negative way!

DakaraJayne

Kids have to make their own mistakes to learn. Their dynamic fascinates me. So much fun to explore. Oh I get that with Dean for sure.

DakaraJayne

So glad you enjoy Nando :) I didn’t consider the number of deaths and for spn that’s incredibly low haha. Jack is worrying me more and more, I pray he’ll get through this. I feel the same about the ep.

Luis Nov

Oh yes thats exciting! I’ve been making compilations of supernatural conventions, I hope that by that time your mods will allow me to send you something 😅
