Hello All!

My schedule for Buffy will be 2 episodes a week here on Patreon. Hopefully one on a Tuesday & one on a Thursday :) please check updated Tiers.

The FX in this one had me howling haha. So funny to see the Hyena's eyes glowing green, followed by the teens. Tickled me up. The love square (that's not really a square) continues in this one as well, I see heartbreak in the future! Willow is quickly becoming my favourite right now, she just seems so precious & needs protecting at all costs!

Thank you all so so much for watching, hope you all enjoy the video & I will look forward to reading your comments as always,

Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

I'm gonna watch it on my lunch break but aaaaah.... This was the very first Buffy episode I've seen! 1998 - I was 17 and I randomly found it on tv. I've never seen anything like that before and I was hooked. It's such a dark and unsettling episode tbh You get an attempt at SA between 2 main characters, cannibalism, and it's all happening in a school setting on a teen show. Completely bonkers when you think of it!

Bart Aansorgh

Not one of my favourite episodes, but Willos is extremely adorable in this one. And people who make Willow sad, deserve to suffer! Can't wait for the next ones :)

William Lawrence

Oh god, this episode lol. Isn't this the worst episode of Buffy? I think I recall seeing/hearing that somewhere. Time to watch your reaction :)

Alan Pownall

I picked the series up in season 2 for reasons I'll discuss when we get to the episode. I like pretty much all the characters but of the main four, Giles and Willow will always have a special place in my heart. The show is well aware that if you want somebody to have a negative reaction the easiest way is to have somebody/thing hurt Willow, Whedon did the same thing again on Firefly with Kaylee.

Gina St Phillips

I was about 30 and dating a guy who used to go watch it with friends when it came out each week. He invited me to join them. I think they were on season 3 at the time, and I was hooked so I had to go back and rend the DVD's (at a Blockbuster, lol). We did the same with Babylon V. I got married to somebody else and divorced, he got married to someone else and divorced, now we are geek buddies. We go see the Marvel movies together and since Quarantine we have been video messaging and watching Supernatural. He hadn't watched it! We're on Season 8, lol.

Gotta admit, this is the first episode so far that made me cringe a little 😬. The little jungle theme that kept playing in the background had my dying lmao 🤣. And the laughing meant to mimic hyenas was a no for me. Still loved seeing your reaction though! I didn't pick this show up when it was originally airing(I think I was a bit too young at the time..was around 9 when it first came out). I first saw the show around 2005 through re-runs on TV. It came on at 6pm and they showed two episodes in a row that I would record on VHS haha 😄. I liked it straight away but never got around to finishing the entire show.

Whisper_dvm

I like this episode. I think it was pretty daring to put a main character in an adversarial role so early in the series! Plus you had students EAT the principal! That’s crazy. I was a day one fan of the show. I was the perfect age (14) when it premiered. It quickly became my favorite show because there were no other shows like it on the air at the time! Closest thing was Xena and while I loved that show at the time too, it wasn’t near as relatable as Buffy. It’s still my favorite show over 20 years later.

I watched the movie in theaters when it came out. I thought it was a fun flick, but when I heard they were going to make a series out of it, I couldn't imagine how, and thought it sounded like it would potentially be sooooo bad, so I never watched it. Eventually I heard so many recommendations for it, that I thought I might have misjudged it (plus I heard it was way different than the movie) but I was way behind at that point. Eventually I bought the first season on DVD (in 2007) when the price went down. Then the second season. Then the rest. Loved it, binged it a couple times since. Joined Patreon to follow Alley Box for Buffy (she's on season 5) and you for Lucifer. I plan on staying for all the Buffy reaction goodness.

Oh no!! ... I am gasping for breath! You just made me laugh soooo much at your innocent foreshadowing. No spoilers here, just know I enjoyed it. ❤️❤️🤣🤣🤣😭😭🤣🤣🥰🥰

I’m scratching my head thinking what this could be referring to, i have no clue! I love that it’s caused a chuckle whatever it may be though haha

I was 13 when Buffy started airing in the US, but as I was in the UK, I didn’t start watching until it began airing on BBC2 when I was 15. BBC2 aired the Buffy movie first, and then began showing Season 1, starting late Dec 1998 and I watched Season 1 and the first few episodes of Season 2 on BBC2, but then we moved house in early 1999 and finally got cable, so I picked up the show on Sky One from mid-S2 in the summer of 1999… and kept watching right through until it ended in 2003 :). I stayed in the Buffy fandom until late 2004, but then moved onto the Roswell fandom (and eventually SPN in 2011)… and didn’t really think about Buffy much at all for about 15 years… until 2019, when I came across a Buffy reactor on YT/Patreon, and ended up going down the Buffy rabbithole again!

I saw the movie in 1992 and it was only OK. I decided to give the show a chance when it premiered in March 1997 because anything supernatural or superhero-like on TV I would give a chance. I loved it from the start with the mix of comedy, horror, and teen drama and Buffy really is a superhero. It became my favorite show of all time. Nothing else comes close.

Jim Greer

I watched Buffy from the very start & have watched it may times on dvd . As I have said before all these years later and I still consider it the greatest tv series of all time .

DakaraJayne

You always remember your first! Bonkers episode indeed. Hope you enjoyed the reaction DB. Thanks for tuning in 👍

DakaraJayne

Willow must be protected at all costs!!

DakaraJayne

This bodes well if this is the worst one, because I still enjoyed the episode haha. Wouldn’t be one id be quick to go on a rewatch with but fun none the less. Hope you enjoyed the reaction

Josee (Griffe)

I started watching maybe 5 years ago and I almost stopped soon after the praying mantis episode. But I ended up just taking a break and tried again. I don't remember exactly when I got hooked, but it was before the end of this admittedly cheesier season. The banter was always fun from episode one, tho.

Hello, new Patron here. I first saw the Buffy movie when it came out. Then I heard they were doing a TV series & I was really excited at first, but when I found out the original actress wasn't going to be playing Buffy I was like, "no, that's not right, how is this going to work?" I watched the first episode regardless, and it was an instant and life long love affair with the show. My favourite characters have always been Willow and Giles, but I pretty much just loved almost everything about the show right from the start. I'm 49 now & it is still an annual tradition for me to rewatch Buffy in its entirety.

Jella Jellobean

Same I was baby when this show was on, didn't finish the series until last year.
