With time travel there are a few things to remember. You have an open loop and a closed loop. This is about if you can remember and if it affects you. With a closed-loop thing, your chance will change your memory and affect you. So if you kill yourself in the past a closed loop you would get a problem because then you would disappear and that means you couldn't have killed yourself. So in my opinion an open loop is the only possibility. If you kill yourself in the past with an open-loop then you will still have your memories even though you're dead. The memories won't disappear. And you will stay alive. Only when you return will people think you are dead so that's a difficult one. The problem is that Rory explains it based on the closed-loop concept. But that's a big problem. Because Rory said Lucifer can't change it because if he did she wouldn't go to the past and therefore she would disappear. But if she would disappear he wouldn't have changed something so that's a paradox. The only logical explanation is that even if he chanced she would still be here because of the open-loop concept. More logical and realistic if you ask me.

And that is the sound of my heart breaking several times. God damn screenwriters. Even more so when you realise that the "goodbye" scenes were scheduled so they would be the last ones they shot together.

This is probably the most emotional episode in the whole season, at least for me. First of all, there is the reconciliation of Lucifer and Rory. They were able to heal the rift that Lucifer didn't even know existed until a few days ago. Then there is Dan, finally dealing with the last bit of his guilt and finally going to Heaven. But the most emotional, at least for me, was Lucifer and Maze saying goodbye. They were literally together ever since Lucifer was cast into Hell. I wonder how many eons that was, down there. It must have been extremely painful for them to part. As emotional as the final episode was, this was the one that got the most emotion out of me.

I LOVE IT that on Lucifer's To-Do List, "Check in on Father Frank" comes immediately after "Prove I Love Rory", even before "Azrael's Blade Still Secure"! Dakara, again, thanks for a brilliant reaction!!

Wasn't expecting this upload! I also wasn't expecting to cry this morning either 😅. The Dan/Trixie and Lucifer/Rory stuff really got me. I always get emotional when it comes to father-daughter relationships in shows(it's just a pretty personal thing to me that I really relate to). Chloe's reaction confused me a bit as well(she's been contradicting herself a good bit the past few epsiodes IMO). I know some people may delve deeper into why she felt/reacted the way she did. But in the moment of watching the show I was just over it. Felt artificially placed there to create a little conflict/drama that was unnecessary. Glad it only lasted a brief moment. I think all of the actors knocked it out of the park in this epsiode. Definitely felt all the emotions of each goodbye.

I also loved this episode. It was such an emotional pull and something we Lucifans have come to expect from the writers and they always deliver. I agree with all you said, Dakara but a little extra info now that avoiding spoilers, etc you might have missed (may I recommend when it is all over you watch some of the season 6 interviews with Tom and Lauren together and also Jo Henderson and Ildy Modrovich, the showrunners who talk about everything we have seen and shared with them this season.) but to explain, from the interviews we learn that all the goodbyes in episode 9 were the last scenes recorded by most of the cast and definitely with Tom Ellis so the goodbyes, the emotions and the tears were real. They knew they were saying goodbye to each other and the show and this makes it all the more emotional and poignant for me at least to realise, the catch in the throat, the struggle to say the words sometimes- all of it was real. Beautifully done. A powerful episode.

Michele

Very good and very emotional episode. I think I got everything I'd been wanting when it comes to character interactions - Lucifer finally giving the real talk to each person in his life and admitting how much he cares about them and how much he appreciates them and what they've done for him. But - time travel - ugh! It can get really annoying.

Michael Abberton

I agree. I loved this episode, and the Maze scene was sooo well done.

Ashley

I loved that inclusion as well! It took me a bit to really get into the show during the first season. I thought it was entertaining/funny, but it was the episode with Father Frank that truly got me invested in Lucifer as a character.

I'm telling you, Lucifer wants you to rewatch Bones 🤣🤣🤗
