Hello, since the last post I took a couple weeks off. I met with online friends in-person for the first time, and the time spent with them felt way too short. After that I passed into some post-event depression and sadness (which will pass.) I have made a tiny bit of progress on Grugga, but it has been very hard to focus on anything. What I was able to do was make Ambient Music 8. For some reason, when I feel listless, poetry and music are the only activities left that feel inviting and fulfilling.

When making these ambient tracks, I often have to start over dozens of times; I finally felt like I had something promising when LMMS suddenly crashed and left no backup or autosave. So a couple days later, I recreated the part I could remember, which ended up being the key change at 40 seconds here. The part I couldn't fully remember became the rest of the track, and it is all more somber than the original melody. I am very proud of the ending section, and though I wish the whole track felt just as impactful, there aren't any parts that I really dislike.

While writing the ending of this track, I had it in mind that this would be the final ambient music. But I don't think I really want to be done with them. Perhaps this will just be the "last track" when everything is said and done, like if I want to put them in an OST.

Man I've always enjoyed your music, both in your previous games but especially for Lethal Company, I like listening to the ambience tracks on occasion, they can be pretty calming, especially the echo-y elements present in a lot of them. This one sounds really good!

You got this buddy, ive always stayed with this game and ill never let it go, its too important to me since it was one of the first games I truly loved on steam.

MASTRBAITR

I hope you get better Zeekerrs. Take a rest if you need to.

Kitriff

I don't know how you do it, but your music always sounds very impactful. This track especially reminds me of C418's original Minecraft compositions.

That post event depression is way too real lol

Lovely track! Maybe I'm crazy, but I get a "Laura plays the Piano" from SH2, which I love deeply. Feels very bittersweet, a bit ambiguous, I'm sad? Hopeful? Pretty interesting track. Which reflects on my experience with the game. I recently played with my family after a long time. They forgot a lot of things, so it was like playing again for the first time. The scares and laughs are genuine in a very special way. There are these moments at the start of the day, where I'm far away from them, and then the ambient track starts playing...feels great with the vegetation on Vow I can't help but look foward to whatever you create, so always remember to take it easy (I'm sure you are very aware of that).

1. I love how you either make the wackiest, most psychotic chase music or the most heart-wrenching and beautiful ambient music. There is no in between. 2. Right when I got to the part about the 40 second mark, I was a second or two from that part in the song lol

Will you ever post your soundtracks on spotify? I’d love to listen to more, more accessibly

Writing and music are such valid forms of emotional expression, and this track really turned out amazing. Your music is always so soothing and emotional; I would love to see an OST. You've really nailed the atmosphere in all of your games. P.S. Grugga can wait. Working on more ambient tracks is just as impactful as Grugga. Hang in there. Your motivation will return in no time.

Shaydelity

I really enjoy this one and think it'd make a great last entry for an OST ^-^

finally got my patreon sub back just in time for a new patreon post. I like how calming and inviting the ambient music feels, while also hitting that 'unknown' vibe of the game. it feels like a movie track where someone falls into an unknown world/enviroment and theyre looking around watching the wildlife flourish. Keep it up zeekers, doing great!

because of your banner i always thought the mb's were scorpion things since how the two pictures blend. i watched a dead seater video a super long time ago and before playing the game it gave me the vision in my head that there was only one mb and it was the mother and it was this giant metal thing meant to look like a pulsating worm with bug bits. there was no reason to type this

zeekerss

Setting up with Spotify would probably be a whole process, so I don't knowww but we'll see

Azrakun

OMG YESSSSS! This is amazing! YES to more ambient music!!!! Also I hope you feel better man! Take your time with things!!! We're all rooting for you

Halo

zeekers never stop being awesome all of your ambients have the same sound to it, but all have audibly different compositions (i mean this in a good way) and it really reflects the somber tones of the game and even those somber tones clash with the voices of our friends when playing the game and like its just genuinely so meticulously handcrafted idk how you do it man BUT ITS AWESOME thank you zeekers also hope you feel better

ShineyStars

This is a pretty nice track! It reminds me a lot of C418’s original Minecraft music

Maria Stella Schirrapa

Man your music Is Just peak, i think It's sad that in Lethal you really can't listen to them for too much

TREEDF

Dude! You are actually the best this song and the games you make are incredible can’t wait to see new creations. But if you do read this will you stop working on lethal company at some point?

Billy Caldow

Would love to see the sounds on spotify really calming and brings me nostalgia

One of my friends recommended to me a distributor called Mile Digital. They're a very small indie team based in the UK, and you literally communicate to their representatives over Discord (time zones can be a hinderance), but they can distribute your music to all the major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and many more. It also seems they also don't charge "additional or hidden fees"; they only take a 15% cut from the earnings. I want to continue examining them, but I've heard no complaints about them so far.

bashcatz

I've always liked how calming yet unsettling the ambient tracks felt. That's what they feel like to me, both calming and unsettling at the same time, somehow. How do you describe this feeling?

VarixDog

Really giving off c418 this piece is beautiful!
