Persian Predicament: The Minigame that didn't happen is out for Patrons! (Patreon)

I can hardly believe it's Friday already, but here we are. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

This is a leftover from the early Persian Predicament work that got dropped. The original intent was to play out the run-up to the battle using this as a crude strategic layer- essentially an excessively complex (read: immersive) means of deciding where the Americans and Soviets would clash near Bandar Abbas and whether they would be fighting a Meeting Engagement, Blue Attack or Red Attack.

It fell through essentially because it was much easier to make one scenario on one map instead of 9 potential missions spread across 3 maps, leaving us with the more focused hasty Red attack vs hasty Blue defence on Havadarya.

But it's an interesting little experiment despite it's flaws.

In other news, I've spent this morning gathering all the names for the Adopt a Pixeltruppen initiative into a spreadsheet. Once again, there are loads, though an added piece of friction this year is that there don't seem to have been many Youtube members putting their hats in the ring. I don't know whether that's because I've missed them, YT isn't indicating members reliably or it's just not something YT members are that into.

So they're going to get a ping, just to clarify.

I'm also considering going all-in on the turn-by-turn as the US by using all the members names for the squad/team leader positions and then naming the individual pixeltruppen in each squad/team as well. That's a little more legwork and I'll probably have to print out the spreadsheet to stay on top of it, but that may be a better way to handle a massive number of names that playing multiple games.

It could be a bit disappointing to those of you who would rather be Soviet pixeltruppen and go a long way to de-exclusifying (definitely not a word!) the Adopt A Pixeltruppen Initiative, so I'm not decided yet.

It may be more interesting to go with the original plan for excess names which was to convert the scenario to CMBS and see how it plays out differently in 2017.

Either way, we are close to kick off. I just need to input the names and then we're essentially good to go!
