Obviously, we're not done with the Persian Predicament yet, so that continues and we've got another poll down below to track how you guys think it's going.

This isn't only a bit of fun, but representative of the swings in the battle. This is something that came out of Fight Club's Black Sea Sundays, where reinforcements arriving at different times for either side could tip the balance and keep players on their toes.

In other news, I'm plugging away at other bits and bobs. I've gotten another Micro Unit Guide done- covering the British Archer (which is a bit of a freak of a vehicle, really).

I kinda randomly picked the Archer, but then thought that, having started with the letter 'A', I should tackle future micro guides alphabetically. So I've scripted out another one for the letter 'B': just need to record, cut and grab the footage for that.

It's an interesting one- see if you can guess what:

The paintjob is a bit of a giveaway for which game it's from... might be a little too obvious.

Anyway, here's the poll for this week's Persian Predicament chunk:

Looking more like a mutual punch out.

Could still be minor American victory In hindsight the major Soviet attack right now is the center of mass, all available forces should be deployed at that point. Light infantry do not counterattack well, a forward defense is a necessity. The enemy truckborne scouts do not pose a serious threat, a squad would be sufficient to deter them

We already done Bradley and BMP and BTRs, what other thing come with a B? The BA armoured cars? BRDM? (do they deserve a whole unit guide?)

UsuallyHaplessVideos

I looked at them and thought they were a bit too similar to the T70. Looked at the Brumbar too, but decided I'd just done two WW2 ones on the trot.

Ben Kerry

BM-21? Really, I think artillery deserve a lot of study in this game (coordination of artillery is practically the thing that defines early modern military science and much of the staff office works) Or BMDs? (don't know whether or not Cold War has these) I think the video will be about BRDM I guess

Ben Kerry

Bradley? Didn’t we have a video about them already? Really need a video about Germans in CMSF2

I think it all depends on this airstrike, which is asking a lot, to be honest. My bet is minor Soviet. TOWs are on the wrong side of the battle for the North objective at present. Soviets still have loads of 120mm mortar at their disposal(albeit not a lot of time). Seems like Luka's been using the mortars as harassing fire more than anything else. Concentrated 120mm is very nasty. Luka stays relatively close and retains enough inf to buffer the IFVs, he might pull it off. In any case, one helluva battle given the distances and numbers involved.

Ben Kerry

I think Soviets have suffered too much casualties during the offensive. It may be possible that the TOW vehicles will run out of ammo before enough BMPs are knocked out for the offensive to lose momentum. (at this rate consider pushing all infantry units to the front, mass is mass)

Ben Kerry

A major shortcoming of Luca comes from the relatively lack of mortar fire employed. I’d suggest a forward defense throwing all infantry left towards the eastern airfield buildings. The soviets are running out of time
