Moviejunkie

This was actually the first Fast and Furious movie I saw and it cracked me up.

SONICX1027

The Actual Drift King himself is a Cameo in the movie, which is awesome

Vendacator

Best drift movie ever

mld-Drake

as much as i agree that he looks like he's in his early 30s. he was like 23 when this released so probably 22 when it was filmed.

Ramon

I always wanted to know what happened to the nephew after that race, was he ever seen a live again. He did embassies his Uncle twice.

JJ CooL

In the scene where they drifted through the crowd, the director actually got in trouble for it. Japan's a bit strict when it comes to foreign film making, and both the director Justin Lin and Universal Studios knew that. He didn't get any permit to do that scene, so he did it illegally to get the shot that he wanted. After they shot that scene in Shibuya, the police quickly kicked them out of the area and went to arrest him. But someone else said that they were the director and took his place to spend the night in jail. Turns out that guy was hired to be the fall guy so Lin could continue to make the film. I know this is a long read, but just thought I'd let you know before YouTube does. :)

dakota zdonowicz

I will have you know, that I started to lose my hair at 16... 😤

mld-Drake

also one of the most annoying things about this entire franchise is that every movie has a different naming scheme. The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, F9, Fast X

AndreTheRed

I'm so hyped for an Initial D reaction

Hexx Gear

"Dominic Toretto..You don't know me.. you're about to." Iykyk Shhhhhhh

Lukundra

Wonder if you know

Donald Armstrong IV

Yea and now it’s even harder to film in public in Japan, you have to go through an excruciating permit process that can take up to like 6 months or more unless you have connections.

Mojo

This was the first Fast & Furious i saw as well. And what made me get into Initial D. Honestly, this kinda IS like Initial D with drifting & absoloute banger music & kinda silly plot with racing.

Logan Minyard

Jotaro went to school in ep 2. Lucas Black was 22 during the filming of Tokyo Drift. I'm annoying Ik.

LordVed

If you wanna see more of Han, the snacking one, check out 'better luck tomorrow', the actor( Sung Kang ) played Han in that movie first, then the character was brought to this movie as the same guy.

Jacob

FUCK YES. FUCK YES. FUCK YES. I am LOVING this series' movie reactions and I haven't even started this one yet.

Ivan

Best soundtrack

Faroth

i love the fact that the story of the "born of drifting" came in the movie as 2 guys who practice in that mountain but they didnt added the fact that they didnt just "practice it", they were delivery guys who worked for a "30 minutes or free" store so they NEEDED to be fast in that mountain so they learned in common cars how to drive faster in that mountain since they have to do the travel each day in 30 minutes or less so they dont lose their jobs, and the story is actually real and the 2 guys fishing at the docks (the ones in the preview image) while the guy is practicing are THOSE 2 guys, and thats why they just go "now THAT is drifting" there is also an animated movie/series about drifters compiting in the mountain and they then invite one of the guys to compete and he just took a normal delivery car and destroy them, which has a music meme of the guy doing the drift with the "deja vu!!!" theme

Cyric Sherburne

"Get me your manager!" to a Yakuza member, bold plan

Depresso

This is my favorite movie in the series.

Rain

Btw for anyone who didn't know, the crowd of people drifting scene wasn't actually okayed by the Japanese government, but they still did it anyways, and just had people take the fall and spend a few nights in jail.

Michael

Alicia being so hung up on the guys facial hair is weird to me because he’s so obviously not 17 but the facial hair isn’t why. I could grow a full beard when I was 16, and in all of my highschool photos from after junior year I have a beard,

Miguel Luna

super hyped for inital D and see what you think

xxDrain

Fast and Furious lost all soul, but this one is like a must-see for the meme value alone :D

Phantom Pledge

Ah. My favorite of the original 3. I just love drifting so much more due to the actual skill level it takes rather than sprint or drag racing down a strip

Faroth

i mean, is the only one that isnt actually relevant to the other ones, it can be a standalone movie by itself

Depresso

They had the car from [Initial D] in the movie!. It was in the first drift race that Sean won when he was going around the corner heading to the circle ramp. (Im not a car guy so I had to look it up to make sure I was right. Its a Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86)

Nightmareman99

Honestly this is one of my favorites. Either you love it or hate it. Been years since I’ll seen em all but it was like Tokyo drift Fast 7 And fast 5 or 6 (they all start to blend honestly)

Malik myers

has alicia never seen 17 yr olds with body hair half my friends were growing full beards by 17 and like not patchy ones

Nico Sun

Had a classmate who was 16 who had a lot of hair for his age, face and neck. He could get away with buying alcohol and tobacco at certain shops if the right person was behind the counter

WillGlacier

I've never watched Fast and Furious and I saw a lot of people excited for this one specifically Holy shit watching this one hurt. The mc, the cast, the plot, just urghhh

Wil DeYoung

Tokyo Drift is definitely a movie where the story serves as a vehicle to drive the action (pun not intended) . It's just a barely serviceable story with a few likeable characters, like Han. You can tell they used the non japanese actors because they thought if it was entirely japanese, it wouldn't sell well in America. That and they really wanted to go for the fish out of water storyline so they could explain drifting to the audience without it being patronizing. However I do find that the driving action is some of if not the best in the series. The choreography of the car sequences is incredible.

Magikltrevr

The actor who plays the main character was only 23-24 when this movie was filmed. Had a better hairline than I did at that age. Genetics are a bitch.

Spicy Noodles

same, idk if its different in Canada but here in the US its entirely normal to have a full chest of hair by 17. He doesn't look 17 because his face has more wrinkles and his skin just generally looks less youthful.

Brandon Porter

So absolutely hype for initial D reaction [EUROBEAT INTENSIFIES]

Hugh Mungus

Cars dropping out of planes? Driving from building to building? No way Alicia, that sounds way too crazy, even for this franchise.

DanielTheHamster

Still crazy that Tokyo Drift is number six chronology.

Trevor Appel

44:06 That man wouldn't be allowed in the bath house. People with tattoos of any kind are not allowed in establishments such as this due to tattoos being associated with being a Yakuza.

TSP247

I know a lot of people that disliked the hobbs and shaw movie I personally loved it and when we get around to the other fast movies surrounding it we end up watching it together.

Trevor Appel

If it was a Yakuza bathhouse there would have been more men with full back tattoos

TwinCat

He is actually 23, but it is crazy how old he looks

RylerRay

2 Fast 2 Furious is better because it had the PT Cruiser

Faroth

is like any highschool movie where they use 20-something years old people to act as teenagers

Faroth

Alicia: Han is my new favorite character of this franchise Universe: welp, here we go again... *takes the scythe...

Faroth

after watching this and to keep the whole drift and race, she totally should watch Speed Racer, the movie based on the old anime, is a total new classic, is funny since imitate anime, but by itself the movie is a gem and get the viewer excited about racing

QuibblesAndGitz

I KNOW they know the memes about this series, which is why everytime they joke about the extreme potential future stunts, I'm wondering "Is that joke a guess, or do they know that's actually going to happen?.."

Michael

Because of how they kept talking about the song through these movies I expected it to be something I at least recognized from memes like Deja Vu from Initial-D, but it wasn’t.

Michael

Tom Holland is the only actor in history that I’ve seen pull off being a highschooler that you wouldn’t second guess while not being an actual teenager.

Anzac-A1

Hope they react to the Dub, honestly. Initial D's English Dub is really good.

Michael

That’s not all bathhouses, just a big majority, and the culture surrounding tattoos has actually started to shift recently with more people being accepting of them as the young replace the old. Though this doesn’t really apply to this movie since it was filmed 20 years ago.

Michael

Definitely, I couldn’t imagine them driving a car from a skyscraper to another skyscraper.

Michael

I’m in the same boat, Han was great, the drifting was cool, but everything else was bad.

Michael

I also had a full beard at 16 so her getting hung up on it was crazy to me. If you look through my highschool yearbook it looks like I could have aged 10-15 years in one summer in some of the photos because of my beard.

Michael

That’s rough buddy, it started for me at 20.

Michael

I love how the names are all different, it’s fun.

Anzac-A1

Man, the audio for the actual movie is so quiet.

Salmonero

It's funny because when me and my friends saw this back in the day, we thought he looked like a pretty standard US 17-20 year old.. Alicia would be mindblown is she saw some of the High school athletes over there 😅 If you're not 200+ pounds and atleast 6"2.. when you're 17. Making the NFL is gonna be tough.

TheKingFin

Lucas Black was only 24 when they filmed this movie

PotterBrony

Well, he was 23 when the movie came out, so likely 22 during filming

Switchchris27

I wouldn't say what her and the MC went on was a Date, they were kinda just hanging out. They didn't hold hands, kiss, or even hug, no intimacy was there aside from her telling him about herself that any of her friends would probably know. There was 100% some interest from her, but I don't think she crossed any lines while still with her "Boyfriend".

Switchchris27

Tokyo Drift is my fav F&F movie.

Samuel Brewer

Fun fact: they didn't have permission to record in Japan so one of the staff took the fall and was charged for it so they could get the film out. The only thing that was an issue was at that famous crossing in Tokyo they had to recreate it on another location.

WillGlacier

It's like one of those movies with a awesome awesome soundtrack but acting so bad you gotta' brace yourself for every line (sometimes funny, sometimes just really cringy)

Ryan Searle

The beginning of this movie is the most unbelievable parts 😂. Crushed car with out warrant, interrogated a minor without a guardian, and mom traded sexual favors for the juvie to get dropped off.

Bloodcrusnik

Initial D reaction let's go.

Lance Ivy

the crying is because he knows he has to kill his friend . the "i miss your father" is most likly cause uncle had to kill pops and was tell the nephew . i had to kill my brother youll be okay killing your friend

Nightmareman99

I mean not saying the girl was right in her order of operations but when she went to break up with him he literally had another bitch in his lap and another at his side

Camron Baublitz

I'm currently in high school and there are definitely students who look like they already have a mortgage and 2 kids

Okoga

The movie that opened my teenage eyes to Japanese women. Also another body to the pile for Alicia's favorite characters.

Rowdeemunkee

Wow. Definitely did not think about the age difference shit when I stole this from my uncles pirated DVD binder when I was 12. These are all children, on display. Why the fuck did they make the protag in highschool? ITS SO WIERD

Mojo

I hope the Initial D reaction will be the OG. It's just like Fast & Furious. Incredibly funny & cool at the same time. Not to mention the MUSIC man.

Silvia Dragoness

I love that the track that starts playing when they're taking the engine from the "Mona Lisa" Nissan and putting it in the Mustang is called "Mustang Nismo".

jdoggivjc

Why's his dad in Tokyo? I'm guessing his shirt was a pretty big clue: dad's in the US Navy and he's stationed in Japan.

MrTwister86

Only actual car enthusiasts like this movie to me this and 9 are the worst in the franchise.

Hugo Andres Lozano

It’s a Veilside RX-7 FD, fun fact, the actor that plays Han has the car from the movie as part of his collection.

DanceSnapple

So fun fact, the actor for Sean is at Max 24 when this came out. Meaning 22 to 23 when recording. He's only 5-6 years off. While there are some shots that make him look much older, the majority of this movie he looks almost spot on for some of the redneck seniors and juniors I went to school with. I knew some that were worse off. I feel like Alicia is having a cranked to 11 reaction to an example that deserves at worst a 6 or 7. Lol

Cameron Meow

Honestly this is the best fast and the furious the main actor wasn't bad it seemed like the usual Americans are the best at everything but insider knowledge she might be Australian but she has a Kiwi Accent

Siggy

Please watch Initial D!

SquaredSpekz

All you had to do was wait 10 seconds.

Johnathon

I went to high school with a few guys that looked older than this guy at 22, and they weren't even seniors yet.

Immeasurably Me

The uncle did not raise her. They said multiple times in the movie that it was DKs grandmother who took her in and raised her.

AdivrSity

Surprised you guys watched Need For Speed Carbon

Alex_Blackwood628

sad fact. Lucas Black, the guy who plays Sean. Was only 23 when filming. Bro had a 35 year old hairline in his young 20s
