I cannot express how much I hoped Oda would use Sanji’s awakening to end the simp bit or at least tone it down a ton with the excuse of his emotions getting colder when I first saw this. Also the suit causing the awakening makes perfect sense, it being because of his feelings towards Luffy would make utterly no sense and would be completely out of nowhere.

I don't like him either. He's fairly boring and doesn't have a great power(in a world filled with some awesome ones). Well, his power might be fine but he doesn't utilize it in any good ways. What do extra lives mean if they fall damn near instantly. If he trained his base strength and was a contender without the lives.. he'd be damn amazing.

The explanation regarding Kinemon's survival makes complete sense. On Punk Hazard, they were able to pull his legs off the dragon, attach them to Luffy, pull them off again etc. It makes sense that unless Law is the one that reattaches things, they aren't properly attached.

Yes, it would change his character, it’s called character development. Like how Robin’s character changed after Enies Lobby. He can still keep some of it but I just want it to be toned down to a point where it doesn't materially affect his combat capabilities.

So for Why Sanji is so much more than his siblings..... Think of it like this. His siblings all they HAVE are the enhancements. Normal average people. Enhanced. They always had them so they never learned or built up anything else. Sanji was for the most part full human and spent most his life with little to no enhancement being activated. He learned to fight. Toughened up a LOT and even learned Haki as a human. Or MOSTLY human. So when his enhancements actually activated his base line the enhancements were starting from was MUCH higher. Its like taking 1 x 10. you get 10. But if you increase that 1 to a 5. You get 50. The rest of his siblings had a base line of 1 and the enhancements increased it x 10. But sanji when his activated later in life had a base line of 5. So That x 10 takes it to 50. It goes a LOT farther.

This will be my most useless correction ever, but weed wackers don't have blades, they have string/line usually made of plastic, which gets extruded as gets used up. Blades would defeat the purpose, which is to cut places where mower can't get to without destroying the blades. Like around side walks and rocks etc. That's where the "wacker" comes from, they wack the weeds rather than cut them, but the "correct" name is string timmer. In One Piece terms, Sanji is closer to a weed wacker than Killer is. 😁 There are cutters like the ones you mentioned, but they aren't string trimmers, so they can't be weed whackers either. I don't know what the standard name for those is. Basically any name I try to search ends up showing me what I was looking for, because AI/bot listings for them are search engine optimized to high hell with more tags than there are One Piece episodes...

What part of getting a power up would address his issues with women, exactly? Because if there's an 'issue', for the character to grow from it, it needs to be addressed and dealt with, which has not happened at all during this whole part. Expecting his character to suddenly change NOW, when he hasn't dealt with the core issues behind why he acts like he does towards women, is - quite frankly - stupid.

Or maybe yknow just learn reading comprehention before calling someone elses opinion stupid, so you don't end up looking stupid yourself? The op meant that, due to him awakening his latent genetic modifications, it would also slightly awaken the emotional supression part of those modifications, hence reducing his extreme reactions towards seeing a woman, (or at least seeing 2 mm's of skin on one while in combat). Doesn't require any psychological 'issue' addressing, just needs to follow the writing and lore of his backstory. It wouldn't need to totally eliminate his views towards women, which would require what you mentioned.

You mention reading comprehension but want the Germa augments to supress Sanji's emotions? One of the central things that was used in Whole Cake Island to show how Sanji is a better person than his brothers and his father DUE TO HIM HAVING HIS STRONG EMOTIONS, stated by Sanji's Mother and was what Luffy was trying to show Sanji all along when Luffy retaliated with their second fight; after Luffy was fed, next to King Baum? Just because you can bring up the reasoning, doesn't mean you've got a point. It's a bit. Which makes the comparison to Robin in Ennies Lobby even sillier. How is it to say Sanji hasn't at least stopped the dream of him spying on women? Spoilers for the manga but he's only been fawning over Stussy and Gerd in the manga. He hasn't busted in any bathhouses on Egghead and Elbaf. It was only Toei who animated him with heart eyes for Jewelry Bonnie, and even in that instance he was spinning around the room giving food to all the girls in the room.

while i agree with the fact of bad reason of survival and even that more characters shouldve died throughout the series the growth is still there because the characters think they're dead during their moments of conflict to overcome for me it's more the numerous fake out deaths now overshadowing real deaths because you start not fully believe them at a certain point.

To be fair, in Sanji's defense he's very confused. He doesn't understand exactly why his cyborg enhancements have awakened all of a sudden, and the only thing he can think of that could have activated them is the raid suit. Along with that he believes that if his cyborg enhancements have activated it could mean that he'll become as cold and heartless as his brothers because he see's the enhancements and their heartlessness as interconnected since thats kinda how Judge made it sound. He's panicking because he's in a big fight against a powerful enemy and his worst nightmare of becoming like them seems to be coming true. And whats worse is becoming cold and heartless is not as easy for the person changing or the people around him to notice as it would be to notice you gained cyborg enhanced powers. As sad as it is for Sanji to have to deal with this, I actually like that we get a better explanation as to how and why he's so strong and can ignite his legs, whilst being a key part of his character and giving him a personal conundrum to deal with later on. Its fascinating.

The germa enhancements have nothing to do with Sanji's strength or his ability to light himself on fire. The enhancements have been dormant until now. Everything before this was Sanji's own ability and strength. I hate when people automatically assume germa tech explains it all when we have 20+ years of Sanji being a normal human whose just worked hard to be strong, especially in a world as fantastical as One Piece where people can do crazy and abnormal things even without fruit powers or tech

I'm not saying that Sanji didn't work extremely hard to become as strong as he is now. What I am saying is the enhancements clearly had some effect on his growth over the years, and helped him to have abilities that normal humans couldn't handle. At least not without years of training. The first time he combusted one of his legs was out of nowhere. It was clearly inspired by his previous fight with that chef on the train, and there was no sign that he'd practiced using the move before hand. Same with Luffy. 2nd and 3rd gear were both inspired by CP9's abilities and the giants. The only reason he could handle/initiate those abilities is because of his Devil Fruit. There's almost always a reason for why and how someone has a special ability in the world of One Piece. Sometimes we're told right away how and why, other times it takes a while, other times we're never told. And sometimes we're misdirected to believe one thing when there is an entirely different hidden reason for how and why. Is it really a bad thing to think that his enhancements had some affect on his increasing strength and abilities over the years? I understand its frustrating because we're led to hate Judge and having Sanji's strength be partially thanks to him is all the more so, but its a small part of Sanji's character, it gives him more depth and a new personal obstacle to go through. I find the complexity of it, of something bad resulting in something good, of the frustration of having to except a gift basically from the person you hate the most in the world, of thus having to face yourself and except the parts of yourself you've been ignoring because of the person you hate, to be beautiful story telling.

Germa are substantially more durable than regular humans - bullets and swords CAN hurt them, but they're wildly resistant. They never had to train up their durability or strength, they just had to train their skill. Sanji beefed his regular human-ass body up so much that his "tekkai" (armament haki) was almost as strong as Virgo's ... ... BEFORE he unlocked these powers. Think of them as a multiplier. His siblings are 10x tougher and stronger than humans, yeah? Well Sanji is now 10x tougher and stronger than *Sanji.* Yeah. Watch out.

Normal bullets cannot harm the Germs Super Soldiers. The bullet that hurt Sanji's sister was a candy bullet made explicitly to pierce Germa's armor. Random Goon N8756's bullets can't do shit against them.

So thing about Kidd not figuring out Hawkins influence is... Unsure what happened off-screen but... Law, Kidd and Luffy fought together, hawkins fought our favourite admiral Uncle and was nearly killed, those three excluding law here never encountered each other on screen except for luffy but luffy is not here right now, so unless Kidd and Hawkins did run into each other and fought off-screen the only one who knew about Hawkins abilities and could figure out whats happening here would be Law, and to him it just looks like a migraine or an old wound opening I guess... Unless I forgot something from wano, god the arc is too long.

So.. its not at all a forgone conclusion that Sanji would keep his feelings, if he starts getting the other stuff his siblings has.

Hawkins never said that Kidd has a 99% chance of dying? He said "That man only has a 1% chance of living til tomorrow" or something like that and contextually, it's WAAAAY more likely he was talking about Drake than Kidd since that was right before they confronted him about being a traitor.

I when I was first viewing this I was so enfuriated by the fact that kinemon kept living. I love Kinemon but they gave him such impactful fake death scenes twice, story wise I was so ready for a future without him to measure the weight of what it meant to take on an emperor.
