Jeez man, I don't blame any kid in this anime for what they're feeling, everyone is such a trauma bean from their neglectful or abusive upbringing. Barring Takopi as a spanner in the works you see these kinds of personal stories play out everywhere in real life - they manage to put so much care into the character writing, it's impressive for such a short story.

Im a bit disappointed in Alicia for seemingly who allays said "its adults fault kids a messed up" Like oh she dont care about people? no thats not it! at all, she DONT KNOW how to care, not a single person in her life has thought her what love means. Lock he up? why not luck all the pieces of shit that gave her life but never love, up. Im honestly so on her side, like why the F should she care about the life of children that got all the love she never got? the dad made a monster and the fact shes back to hunt him is literally just karma. you create a life and then leave it to root, and when that life comes crawling back to you in pure desperation you kick it again. The moment he said that to her I was like: "oh shit, villain arc has begun" "she selfish" yearh gee, I wonder why, her dad and mom are both such pillars of "empathy for other" A girl like this needs HELP! she not to far gone, yet, but if no one helps her, she naturally will be. Honestly im ride or die for her, her selfishness is justifed and is a product of the world. Asking a kid to figure out how to love others with no one to teach her is expecting the impossible. Giving love to others is so important, if only she had had a big sis or something that could have helped her... but all she got is this pink alien that in way too deep.

"absolute sympathy" eh, not really shes a victim of her mothers abuse but she also took out all her pain on a innocent girl who could do nothing. ( and she she got dog killed, so her death was justifed at that point ) it did not really add much for me on the front, but it explained why Tokopi said he could not return and use the clock, and put things in a interesting new messed up perspective

She does need all that AND also needs to deal with the consequences of what was done. (Even if just helping to hide the body. Hell that makes things even BETTER for Shizuka. ) Right now she has no regard for any type of life in general because nothing bad happened to her after what happened to Marina. She's now thinking , "okay I can kill my problems and get away with it." But if she gets punished for a while , not like it'll be life sentence for her , she then learns that lesson and theeen get that deeper help she needs. Maybe even at the same time DURING being "locked up." ( I imagine that's an option as well. )

Shizuka just needs a freaking hug and friend. Shes the main victim of the story, hating her is missing the point that she is not the problem but the result of all the problems colliding into one spot. Alicia saying "she should be locked up" is so messed up to me, like what first the hole world screw her over and now you want to put her out of the way like every one else did? blame her for all the problems? just like everyone has? "she's manipulative" yes thats what children are, thats why they need adults that can help them lern how to care for others, yet all she have is a pink alien that just showed her that murdering is great way to get rid of you problems. yeah.... Shizuka Is Not The Problem.

The amount of hate from chat when the dad froze up, and pretended that he doesn't know Sizuka... It was a bad decision, I give you that. Imagine you are just home with your family, playing with your kids, and suddenly from nowhere your kid from your previous marriage shows up at your door. Not the best circumstances for quick thinking. We also don't know anything about why he left Sizuka's mom, but based on how was that women portrayed back when they took the dog, and how loving he seems with his girls, I would bet it was not his fault they did not work out. Still, he should not hide his past, from his current partner. We don't know if she knows about it or not. And his daughters doesn't need to know about everything until they are old enough to understand it, and "a wild Sizuka appeared" kind of random encounter is not the way for breaking it to them anyway. I don't think there was a good option for him right there. That does not make him a bad parent.

Don't forget the cops, who ignored Shizuka's home state and how she is alone (and shouldn't be a parent/guardian present when she is questioned?) I have a feeling Shizuka is ignored on purpose because everyone is judging her mother.

Bro Shizuka pulled up to his doorstep seemingly alone looking the way she did and the Dad didn't even ask why his kid came to his doorstep alone. That man clearly did not even want her in house leaving the kid on Tokyo's streets in the rain he's the worst Dad in the show and he's gonna continue to hide the fact he had another daughter enough said

after finishing this I realized, in the second timeline Takopi not only killed the girl he was trying to save but also took her identity for a period of time, lived as her not remembering anything about her. That would mess me up.

I agree that it wasn't good what he did. I just said there was no good option for him. This show is all about prespectives, every time it shows things from a different POV, who's right and who's wrong just changing constantly. This is not the show where we can just throw judgement this lightly. And also we don't know what happened exactly either in the past between them, or right now after he rejected her at the door.

Yeah I get it... But you also need to see how a danger she is to other innocent people. The moment she felt that killing those two girls was the solution was when she went off the road. She killing Takopi was also her telling that was going to take two people who had nothing to do with this. Lives away. I think the locking her up is more of. "Hey, she needs to be in a difference environment while getting help from someone." Cause this isn't someone you can let walk around in school or just on the street. For her safety and others.

Telling to your probably 4-5 years old kid, that's different. "Hey, so btw you have another sister, who you will probably never meet, because she lives far away." Good luck with that, it will be fun to explain, and will do nothing good for anyone. And than abandoning the kid: WE. DON'T. KNOW. SHIT. Almost every time in a divorce the mother get custody even if she's the worse choice. That's just a fact. There is no info about he abandoning anyone. He left, maybe because he wanted to, maybe because he had to. WE. DON'T. KNOW. SHIT. Maybe he's paying child support properly, maybe he's not. WE. DON'T. KNOW. SHIT. Ha started a new life, seems like he has a good family now. Good for him, don't ruin it for the sake of moral superiority. If your past put your present in danger, noone should blame you for throwing it away.

Like she is completely giving up hope for her. is her character triggering something deeper in Alicia, that's making her hate her I'm starting to wonder. My take on why Shizuka wants to kill her half siblings is she jealous of them but doesn't understand her own feelings. She also knows that her dog is dead, but doesn't want to give up hope so her brain came up with a way to solve both issues

I'm sure the mother is an escort because the father pays child support. I don't think there is much of a scenario where the father is not a pos. (I agree the kid scenario is a lose-lose scenario either way) There is a huge contrast between their life. Guy lives in a good place in Tokyo, and Shizuka lives in a dump. I doubt that ahole pays a cent in child support. The bigger kid is very close to Shizuka's age. So far, every possible adult is garbage here. Parents, teachers, cops, everyone ignores/f* up the kids. The only decent human being we've seen so far was the brother, but even he should be f*** blind not to see how his mother treats his younger brother. (Szia Zoltan egyebkent :)

Not to excuse Azuma but I know that pattern in myself. Somehow it feels more comfortable to seeks out "damaged" people since I derive some selfesteem from accepting and helping them. Also those people are often disassotiating from their own situation and are therefore ready to welcome you into this fantasy land where you are both "the missing puzzle piece" to each other. I know now that real relationships are much more than excusing the flaws of oneanother.
