Comments

Timmy Sim

She bout to hate the hell outta part 2

Spicy Noodles

I was literally just about to say "the batman before the joker movie 💔🥀" until i saw the notification 😭 we are eating good

Eric Miller

More cinema on the weekend? I shall enjoy it.

Robert Collard

I think what I still love most about this movie is that you can take out all the references to Batman/The Wayne family and it is still a great movie in my eyes. Too bad we got the sequel.

Cardboard

Back to back peak ✋😐🤚

Rowdeemunkee

Sequel is notoriously bad, and not in the fun way.

Mr. Ewok

Glad you enjoyed it! Loved it when it came out, and we... dont talk about the sequal. Just a cash grab from the director.

Alex

Honestly part 2 would just literally be a waste of time for yall 😭😭

Blade Martin

The court scene with Gary was pretty good.

T0rk_

I myself haven't watched part 2, but for what I've heard you'd get one hell of a reaction out of it lol. Love this movie in particular tho

Blade Martin

"i just hope my death makes more cents than my life" wasn't improper spelling but a play on words.

Dark Sunrise Studios

I don't know if more details came out later, but at the time I have a theory that they didn't want to make a second movie, but the execs probably pressured them into it for money. So they did the best thing they could: They made it into a joke that wasn't funny, a punchline that never comes. (I won't spoil it for anyone else, but the end of that movie ESPECIALLY seemed like that.) Just like Arthur would have done.

Jaffar Black Fang

You and Ant might enjoy the Dark Knight returns part 1 and 2 its an animated DC movie but its a good one

Blaw

I personally do not like this movie but I’ll def watch watch y’all’s reaction. The sequel I can not bother with tho

Rowdeemunkee

Id love to see them go through all the DCAU honestly. It's where DC has been shining the last 15 years

Nick

really like this movie. good story, start middle and end, and no need for a sequel to be made... Edit: oh also crazy timing with the whole SMILE fruit in OP and watching this after about somebody who cant stop laughing

Badgersan

"There shouldn't be a second one" well said

Jacowab

i haven't seen the second but from what I heard it was basically the director getting an infinite budget and using it to make an artsy film that he wanted and most audiences didn't like it.

Barbietube

Such a good movie, shame we never got a sequel

Sean Cruz

There is no Joker 2 in ba sing se

Jaffar Black Fang

I used to think my life was a cringe compilation but now I realize its a Try not to laugh challenge

Mr. Ewok

Ooooh, but they're Canadian tho. They probably dont have that kind of currency there and didnt realize the pun.

J.U.N.E.S

I rarely comment on these but Alicia please listen to us: DO NOT WATCH THE SEQUEL, IT RUINS THE FIRST ONE. There is no Joker 2.

RedSkeith

Fun fact: this movie was considered "problematic" when it came out because the media was worried it would rile up people (particularly men) who related to Arthur/Joker, and it's because people sided so much with the character that the director made the sequel. You're not supposed to relate to, side with, or even like Arthur...according to the director.

Noel

Funny thing, basically Director got to work on something he hated and made a masterpiece like Joker by accident. Sad thing is, no such accident ocurred when he made Joker 2

W3REWOLF3

Was badass hearing Alicias insights while watching the movie.

ComradeRaccVT

PLEASE DEAR GOD JUST DONT WATCH THE SECOND ONE. It's not even fun bad

IvI

There is no Joker 2.

VonZale Carson

I'm always surprised on what Alicia hasn't seen

RamenRay

Alicia please do Batman under the red hood

Rokkettdog

Oh, Don't worry about what they could possibly do in a sequel, Alicia and Ant. Cuz there never was nor will be a sequel. This movie ended just how it should have : )

DocteurNS

Yeah. So instead of escalating and showing how despicable he truly is so that people realise "Oh, sh*t, maybe I shouldn't glorify sociopathic killers", they decided to to a complete character assassination to make the character unappealing in a complete different way that even taints the first movie in retrospect.

Moviejunkie

Now that you’ve seen them in separate movies. You might enjoy seeing them in their big premiere together in Batman 1989 from Tim Burton.

Swan Ronson

One smaller thing I love about this Movie is that it answers a HUGE question I always had. How the hell does someone like the Joker, who is obviously a mentally unstable supervillain, always seems to have an infinite amount of goons ready to step up and help with whatever crazy plan he cooks up? Well because he's a hero to 90% of Gotham who have nothing left to lose, and are more than happy to risk their lives to burn the whole world down around them.

Bix

This is a good film, I'm glad they didn't make a second one.....

MMDXXX

I highly recommend watching The Suicide Squad (2021) next!

Konasha

Guy tried to grab the cops gun, so not some poor innocent man. Also the cops were after a killer who shot three people. Was it the best time to pull your gun? Probably not but it’s understandable

Dusty

While I do like peace maker and the series that came after with some good characters I honestly hated Suicide Squad (2021) it felt like a direct copy and paste with only Peace Maker and the polkadots guy being the exception

bc@t

I love how as Arthur becomes more unhinged but confident, his laughing condition fades to genuine laughter. Almost like becoming The Joker is some twisted and malicious cure to his issues. It's so poetic, tragic, and fitting of this version of the character.

Jon C

This movie is great. For some reason when it came out there was a movement to pose the movie or it's fans as alt right crazies. Not sure why most people just laughed at it.

Dimentio

This movie really works best as a stand alone film. It wasn't supposed to have a sequel. The only reason why a sequel was made was because this movie made a LOT of money (it made over 1 billion dollars, and became the highest grossing R rated film at the time if I recall correctly). The sequel was universally despised and failed at the box office. It's a very unnecessary and bad sequel.

John Playstation

And so, this movie ended the Joker franchise once and for all. Hey, isn’t there a secon-ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Supermew

"observations", the o was pressed up against the b so it looked like a d.

Levals

Have you ever seen Gladiator (2000), Joaquin Phoenix was amazing in that move too, if you haven't seen it I think it would be a cool react.

Werguild

2nd was cringe; joker one was based. experience it ya bastaards

Sejju

Alicia - "I feel like there shouldn't be a second one."

Chuck Covey

not understandable, cops of all people should know not to pull out a gun in a crowd, especially during a riot

Konasha

Wasn’t a riot it was a train. Riot happened after the gunshot. Also if you’re chasing a known murder suspect that has a gun, cops have to duty to protect people around and themselves. So yeah it’s understandable, not recommended in a crowd like an already said.

Twisted Fictions

Someone posed this thought to me about Murray Franklin- What if he THOUGHT the act WAS being cringe and unfunny? Like, Arthur was being unfunny on purpose as an ironic thing? If so, the way the booker who calls him speaks - 'Isn't that so great?' - makes sense. They think it's his act.

Gildarts1#fan

This movie is fantastic, it's great to see you react to it. Don't bother with the sequel, it belongs in the trash

Crescent Method

When the gun fell in the hospital, I cringed so hard I spun in my chair

Dougdaboy

Love this first one. Two is over-Hated imo. Even if i like it less than the original. it Feels like a pretty good conclusion to the themes of the first, even though (Just like this movie) it's more of Auther's story then the joker's.

Aye Jaye

Canadians have cents, and also Ant isn't Canadian

Unsaidrumble

A movie so good they neverade a sequel

E. H.

"...hit the whale cry into a scream..."

MrDudePerson

Edit: I've been watching for over a year and this is the first video I've seen that explained how to use the codeword of the day lmao I rode the stand-up circuit in Southern California for a while and even produced my own show at one point. At 55:20 when the host goes "...um, okay?" to belittle Arthur, that's essentially a cardinal sin at comedy clubs and just a shitty thing to do in general. A host's whole job is to make their comics look good and keep the comedic momentum going. Even at an open mic, setting up a comic for failure by belittling them like that would get you fired and, depending on the influence of the venue, blackballed from other clubs. People are trying to make careers happen and behavior like that is a HUGE deal.

Void

2 doesn’t exist. This movie is a perfect stand alone movie. The second one is terrible and unnecessary. It’s like the last of us two. The first is perfect on its own let it be on its own.

Nightmareman99

Yeah tbf there are many version of Batman some of which explore the possibility of Bruce’s parents not being the good people they seemed to be. I know one version he was partners with falcone And another where he would use his influence as a doctor to get his political rivals and their families commuted to Arkham asylum and drug them to hell for his gain. It’s a big dichotomy for the Pillars of morality they are usually depicted as And I’m not religious but if your watching joker 2 I’ll pray for you all😅😅😅

Jacob Funckes

I will warn you now, do not watch Joker 2, it goes in a completely different direction, like it's a musical and not even a good one, and really just butchers the first movie, completely. Unless you want to watch it to see what a trainwreck it is and to make fun of it there's no other point watching it, it is completely terrible.

WillGlacier

Great movie but DEAR GOD DON'T WATCH THE SEQUAL Deadass it game me same same pain as watching that nasty ass 2015 fantastic 4 movie

WillGlacier

"over hated" is an understatement that shit was HOT ASS

Kyutoko

Please do not watch Folie a Deux. It is Fantastic 4 2015 levels of bad. This movie is the only one that exists. There is no sequel. Nothing bad ever happened. Ever. But even I saw this one in 2019 and was like "This is sooooooo dark." Oh they had to take the morphine button away from me when I was recovering from surgery, I just kept clicking it and dancing while lying down. That is some goooood shiiiiiiit.

Cole Savoie

Noooo. I never wanted to do the secret word thing. Its just bait!

Notto

Alicia please please please skip Folie a deux the people who made it literally made it bad on purpose it’s a complete waste of time and nothing like this film

Notto

Wouldn’t compare it to tlou2 at all. Unless you’re talking about the shit tv show. Cause the game is actually good when you’re not Abby

Notto

The fuck are you talking about. Literally completely different from the other suicide squad besides Amanda Waller being Amanda and Harley Quinn

Notto

No. Movies that old should honestly probably be deleted and thrown out. They just dont hold up today at all and the suit is horrible to look at

PrettiestBeardedLady

People in the comments are cowards, is 2 bad? Yeah. Is it worse than fan 4 stick? not even close and you made it through that garbage fire.

Cole Savoie

Fun fact. When in theaters us military personnel were banned from seeing this film out of fear of radicalization. No one listened to that. No one was radicalized. I think

Phantom Penance

“There shouldn’t be a second one.” The movie director thought the same thing, but the studio wanted that MONEY. So we got the second one.

Moviejunkie

Gonna have to strongly disagree with you there.

Okoga

@Notto That's sure a take, probably one of the worst ones I have seen in a while when it comes to films.

Okoga

Looking forward to the reaction to the second one. Coal. Still confuses me when I see all these people saying "Please reactor, don't react to X!" Just enjoy the ride, it's content baby!

Notto

It’s because the second one is shit to about 99% of the earth

Notto

Just being honest. It’s like using a vhs it’s old outdated and useless and the only reason someone would ever use it now is nostalgia

Moviejunkie

Whatever man. You do you.

Carter King

“I wonder what they can do for the second one?” They can absolutely beef it

Rick Baron

Because the second one isn't worth watching, the studio forced everyone to make it for more money, and all people involved took the piss on the studio making a piece of garbage on purpose

Robert C. Dona

I saw this movie 7 times when it came out in theaters. So glad it got 19 Oscar nominations. Also during the first three weeks this movie first came out there were protest around the world where there was a dictatorship, and most of the pictures that were taken during these events were people dressed up as this version of Joker make up. I don't know if those videos are still up or been taken down .

Cola Phoenix

i always thought there was a possibility that thomas actually had the child with her but he used his money and power to make it seem like she didnt and that she was crazy and adopted the child. this would also drive any person this done this to crazy as well. but she could also just have been lying

Okoga

Well I just watched their reaction to the second one and it was 100% worth it just for the Patreon only ending part, so my point was proven literally less than an hour after my comment here. The movie itself isn't the reason we are watching, it's them, and they made it entertaining.

Michael Eldon

I've always interpreted the TV show scene as that he went there entirely prepared to kill himself on live television, but he changed his mind as he started talking. there a moment where you can kind of see it click in his mind right before he talks about how Murrey is also terrible.

Brian of South-Ebonscar

The movie was not planned to have a sequel, in fact it was a very popular opinion that it shouldn't have a sequel. Great movie. Before the sequel there was a theory that the whole movie happened inside his head and only the ending where he thought of it as a joke was real.

SilvyTheBat

no, shut up. XD I said "Thats gotham baby" Right as Ant did at 1:46:50 XD I may or may not be resonating with this on a similar level ^.^

Eric

One of the things I like more about this movie is that Joker has allways been portrayed as Batmans "mistake" cause he let him fall into a pit of acid, but that's just stupid. In this one he's Batmans (and his fathers) mistake in a more visceral, cruel way. The city is a shithole and his people are suffering. That's allways how Gotham has been and Batman decides than rather using his money to help improve the city, he better put himself into a jumpsuit and kick some mentally ill people. At the long run you start to wonder if he's really a hero or just a mad man like the rest. Joker in this one isn't a bad guy, he gets turned into one as he descends into madness due a society that just doesn't let him live

LordVed

I know she will not see this, but Thomas Wayne is in fact Arthur Flecks bio father and she the bio mother. the papers they forced her to sign were forged adoption papers...

LordVed

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Zorro, The Gay Blade Zorro, The Gay Blade is a 1981 American swashbuckling comedy film from 20th Century Fox, produced by C.O. Erickson and George Hamilton, directed by Peter Medak, that stars Hamilton, Lauren Hutton, Ron Leibman, and Brenda Vaccaro. The film's opening prologue states: "This film is dedicated to Rouben Mamoulian and the other great filmmakers whose past gives us our future." The prologue quickly establishes that Zorro, The Gay Blade is a tongue-in-cheek sequel to 20th Century Fox's swashbuckling adventure film The Mark of Zorro (1940), directed by Mamoulian. Hamilton was nominated for a Golden Globe award for playing the dual role of Don Diego de la Vega (Zorro) and his gay twin brother Bunny Wigglesworth, aka Ramón de la Vega.

TougherCoot 05

This movie was a masterpiece. No notes from me.

TougherCoot 05

It’s like they hated that we loved this Joker and they wanted us to feel bad for enjoying the first movie.

Vegvisir92

i wish some of these people Alicia collabed with would not make stupid jokes in serious moments...in her own reactions she'd usually be more serious but because of these others, everything just turns into a joke

BryceIsRightJr

There's a theory that the whole movie was just all in his mind... and the thought of all that happening is what he was laughing about in the asylum.

Nebula

Society

Lance Ivy

i love the woobifction of joker . "no . no honey we dont stalk stalking is bad no no sweety we cant follow her "

holycobra

14:09 "To be fair, you see a man talking to a child..." done. or woman. Yup. Men don't get to talk to strangers. Ever. Because of people like 39:45.

Fobbles

Wow. There is… a SCARY amount of, not even similarities but absolute PARALLELS with what’s happening in America right now in this movie. Social security and mental health resources being cut, strikes for basic needs, people rally behind the killer of a rich CEO as a figurehead… the people running for power treating half the common folk like clowns…

Nick Lopez

Im sorry I had to stop watching it don't remember the timestamp but when you mentioned that your laughter/crying sound very much alike each other because both are equally odd feelings to have around people your uncomfortable with. Especially when something uncalled for or just morally to you, not acceptable but you just kind have to fake it until you can make it out of that situation... that's my life in a nutshell. Funny enough, this is obvious sarcasm but I digress... I still live with my family (mid 20's is all your getting for lore) and they've mocked the way I laugh for over half my life at least 1 decade for sure. My thing apparently is that my laugh sounds like I'm crying it's just how I react to things around people when I'm in an uncomfortable situation and it's really hurt me as a person growing up, it wasn't the first time I was shunned for having emotions and through that shame as an adult it feels wrong for me to experience joy through laughter because I was scolded for it for years. I can catch myself feeling a sense of guilt like I did something wrong for being happy in that moment and I know shouldn't feel that way but it's just my natural reaction at this point. I am in process of moving out though, so hopefully I can get that taken care of and move on with my life. I just need to save a little more. I'm just glad to have found someone who had a similar experience as me, it's one those " I don't feel alone on this planet" type of moments and i really needed to hear that. Thank you.

Nick Lopez

Batman is cool though because he doesn't hold back his punches. Captain america does because he's all about protecting free will, batman will put anyone crooked behind bars at any means necessary except killing them.

MrGuy3000

Now I wanna see a “Pearl” reaction 💀

Cameron Meow

Dont be sorry for speaking out brother you never walk alone ❤️

Cameron Meow

I remember watching this when it first came out i went with my gf at the time and we were supposed to go to a bar afterwards but I was so mentally messed up I had to go home she was pissed and did nothing to support me but that's a different story

Matt Myers

I've come to my own conclusion that the majority of the movie that iss personal life of Arthur is him talking to the Dr in the end of the movie, he's telling her details from his point of view to garner sympathy, coming down to every kill he's done had a reason.

Benzyon Stuff

Zorro the Gay blade is actually one of my families favorite movies. Its so good and aged pretty well in my opinion. I hope it gets put on the list of movies to watch because its such a fun time. I got very excited when i saw it on the banner rest of the movie, pretty damn solid

Azel !!

25:46 How? Even if he is, how would you know with the info we have been given up until this point? We only know he has some sort of problem along with his laughing, we don't have any specifics yet no? Or maybe I missed something?

Azel !!

1:13:43 How do you know if you're right or not? Who's to say he's not lying to him to cover it up?

Cat on Crack

i feel you i trained myself to laugh different in my mid 20. now it is more of a fast hn hn hn hn hn or a rolling hehehehehe after a while i stopped beeing self conscience about it, really helped my mental state, maybe that could help you too must have been creepy AF if my neighbors heard me^^

Luk42

This is really one of those movies that objectively speaking is really good and I'm glad I watched it, but personally I'm not a fan and probably wont watch it again unless it's to show it to someone who's interested in it

Aye Jaye

Kind of the same for me, I had no plans to really watch this movie again after seeing it in the theaters and I'm only really watching reactions to it for the reactors rather than the movie.

CarcosanTimeshare

I love the taglines on these two movies: Joker: THIS WAS SO GOOD! Joker 2: I suffered... It didn't need a sequel, but they just HAD to try wringing every penny out of it that they could. Choked the damn life out of the actual artistry of the first movie.

Elias

I come back to this VoD so often. It's such a comfort watch for me hahah.
