MajinEddy

Was not expecting a binge watch but not gonna complain either.

Moviejunkie

In the comics The Brain and Mallah lead the Brotherhood of Evil, but here their an old retired couple and I love it.

Vincent Price

Imagine you are funding and monitoring a secret research facility where they are experimenting on a gorilla and you get a memo that one of your scientist is now married to the gorilla.

Jaffar Black Fang

"Relation ship a muck" But what about Grimer? Feels like Lois and Sups skipped a step lol

Jaffar Black Fang

If your sister hasn't seen this show You gotta show her this episode she's gonna squee when she see's those lil robots since she's a fan of the reference lol

nervouspirate

Monsieur Mallah & Brain are villains in most timelines, but one thing the show got right is that they are actually one of the earliest canon queer couples in DC.

Pheonix

Jimmy knowing all along puts that little snark about the alarm clock exploding in the first episode in a different perspective. Rewatching I noticed he looks away a little disappointed when Clark brushes him off/deflects. It's a nice touch that your not really gonna notice without context.

Orpheus Leroy

Mallah and the Brain 's relationship isn't beastiality because both can 1. Understand the implications of a sexual relationship 2. Express the giving or withdrawal of consent and 3. Neither has an inharent upper hand intellectually or socially over the other. Thank you for coming to my ted talk

Connor Grynol

Bruh, I clicked this thinking it was episode 2. This show really pulled her in to be this far in.

Fei Ashtear

Man, every time my eyes wander to the twitch chat, someone is crashing out over how much they hate Lois. Jesus, calm down lol. It's not that big of a deal. She's impulsive and opinionated. She didn't do something bad enough to garner actual hate. I think this Lois is cute and fun. Her personality creates conflict for the plot. Not that deep guys.

Connor Grynol

I both agree and disagree. I think it is deep. Lois clearly has trust issues and its a huge part of her character. But I think the hate is super unwarranted. It's like people think characters aren't allowed to have flaws anymore. Ironically, I think most people who say "it's not that deep" would say that Lois has no depth and is just a poorly written character. But that's clearly not true. Lois' trust issues stem from her father (as mentioned in episode 4), who kept things from her, the extent of which has not fully been explored.

Connor Grynol

Yes, it's bestiality, but I think the primary issue with bestiality isn't the interspecies part (otherwise Kryptonians and humans wouldn't be okay either), its the fact that no other animal can give consent. But Mallah is a super-intelligent gorilla with the ability to speak. He can consent.

Fei Ashtear

By "not that deep" I intended to express that the way the character is portrayed is not so horribly offensive that it garners paragraphs of hate in the live chat.

ShreddedNinja

I wouldn't consider Brain and Monsieur Mallah's relationship beastiality. Beastiality is a thing because animals can't consent, whereas Mallah is fully capable of that as his brain was mutated to be human.

BakaSama

I genuinely did not expect the Malah reference in Episode 1 to be foreshadowing of an actual appearance from probably one of DC’s oddest couples. Seeing them depicted as an eccentric, old married couple is kinda weird to me, since the two have been apart of such groups as the Brotherhood of Evil and Society of Sin. And then there’s that time from the comics where they nuked the city of Bludhaven with a living chemical weapon…

ACVIFOR

I only saw the one dude, but he was really vocal about it.

Magikltrevr

The gorilla and the brain are no different than dating any alien in Mass Effect in my mind. As long as everyone in the partnership is capable of understanding it all then no harm, no foul.

Porpoise Power

I love Monsieur Mallah... Gotta love a gorilla in a cardigan.

Kyutoko

The writing is so good, it made me cry.

Brandon Boll

When you finish this series and you need more adorable Clark. He also voices one of the main cast in Star Trek Lower Decks and is just as adorable.

Jon C

I never even thought about you reacting to this show but was so excited to see you are because this is like the perfect show for you.

DrCatspaw

Just like anywhere else on the internet you have people like that. Could have been someone who got hurt once and now hates all women who have any character flaws. Or it could have just been a 12 year old trying to be edgy/deep.

thedangmaster

Them turning the Brain and his gorilla buddy Cartoonishly Good while keeping their characters traits is hilarious and such a twist. I recommend the Doom Patrol Tv series soo much!

Aqua Lantern

lmao chat having a meltdown x) Anyway, I love the Unreliable Narrator exposition Brain gives. Of course he would think the General is an utterly ruthless monster, yet we immediately see him regretful of what he did to Cadmus.

Nico andHades

Would highly recommend going back to watch some of the older DC animated shows like Young Justice after this series. I feel Young Justice is a great introduction to the wider DC universe

6CatsInAnAlley

I wouldn’t consider it beastiality because if we use the logic of human with relations with a nonhuman that would count Lois and Clark since he’s not human, he’s Kryptonian, so I think the general consensus is if the non human can consent and has sapience then it’s not beastiality

ComradeRaccVT

Is it a DC thing or was the stuff in the tube at 10 mins a Gurren lagann reference?

Takanuva

Oh boy next episode she is gonna have such a good time

Da-Jacku

My God, Jimmy is the F-GOAT!

Silver Blade

13:00 .... ugh ... the beast has humanlike intelligence and can consent... and then again by that point it is brain in a bot in love with an intelligent gorilla....

Zeke

I need to slow down my reading, I though your Tag for this was "My adventures with sperm"

Az256

Tf did they do to Brain and Mallah in this 😭 lile they got hit by whimsical rays. I know Alicia distracted by two cute she sees it by Clark at best has known Lois for a month or two like this is something hes held a secret even from Jimmy his whole life Lois demanding him to spill everything about himself is just so out of pocket

Faroth

*checks 2025 sups movie: no, yeah, thats correct

Bombastic Chucktastic

I think the main issue I had with how they handled the situation with Lois, is that they painted Clark as being the only apologetic one. I agree with what you said in episode 5 where they were both in the wrong, but this episode really made it seem like Clark was the only one in the wrong, and what Lois did was perfectly fine. As long as they address this in later episodes and Lois actually recognizes that how she handled the situation was wrong, then awesome. That could honestly be a big growth for her character. But if that doesn't happen...bruh.

Anzac-A1

Lois WAS apologetic.

Bombastic Chucktastic

When? One potentially guilty glance doesn't equal apologetic to me. Aside from that, we never got any inclination in this episode that she felt guilty for how she handled the situation. If she's apologetic in later episodes, great, but she wasn't in this one.

Jane Doe

They're taking a... Gaycation.

Miklar Sihn

On the whole animal/human relationship bit. I think that is handled when one of them is of human intelligence. I personally still wouldn't, but it isn't a moral thing anymore. Also, the other guy is a brain in a robot, so there isn't really much chance of a physical element.

Hampus

i kinda disagree that Clark did anything wrong, he doesnt owe Lois his secrets and even then he was going to tell her (but gott stopped by her unintentionally scaring him). also i dont really think Lois needs to apologize, sure if your an audiance member and annoyed at how she acted then an apology might dound nice but her actions made perfect sense to her character (she is a bit of a self centered jerk, though loveable), and it makes perfect sense for Clark to still wanna be with her whether shes sorry or not. P.S, im writing on my phone and have no idea how to make speces between my points sins the enter key just posts it 😅. apologies for lack of spacing

Hampus

its not really out of pocket, looking at Lois it makes perfect sense for her to act this way (she is a lovable but self centered jerk honestly). i dont blame anyone for not liking what she did or liking her less as a charakter for it, but her actions do make sense

Hampus

just have to point out, F-GOAT! when read quickly as a word really sounds like something else 😅, it really through me of for a moment not understanding what you meant

Az256

Ehhhh, I get that they tried to shoe in the whole dad keep secrets from her trauma into it but time definitely matters. You cant expect to meet to someone Know them for less than a month to know everything about them. People dont work like that, and I think Jimmy's reaction felt the most human.

Dude559

Kyle the vampire god needs to calm the fuck down and shut his bitch ass mouth XD

Cody

shoutout to the one chatter fighting ghosts LOL. some people can't stand the decades old mellow superhero drama trope ig

Ben Gross

To be fair, we’ve already seen Lois cross a Lot of lines when she feels she’s justified, I don’t think he should’ve ever told her the truth

Sean PaulT60

From re-watching this episode and hearing Alecia's take on everything I've realized a few things about the Superman side of this argument. It's that he definitely wasn't all in the right. Yes, he has a right to his secrets, and it was wrong for Lois to force out those secrets. However, Clark's fear of being treated differently caused him to wrongfully distrust his closest friends. I'm not even talking about Lois, he's known Jimmy since they were Freshmen (this was stated in this episode) and while him giving him space was the nice thing to do, he would NEVER have told Jimmy, not matter how much time passed. He's known him for years and despite living with him Clark assumed his closest friend would treat him differently if he knew the truth. That is the reason he gave when they (including Jimmy) pushed him as to why he was so afraid to tell them. If Clark didn't feel comfortable with telling Jimmy by this point, several years after becoming best friends, then it was never going to happen. To sum up this point, Clark wasn't wrong for keeping his biggest secret, he was wrong for assuming his best friend couldn't be trusted with his biggest secret, that their "characters" were not worthy of trust despite how much they clearly care for him. Did Clark really think so lowly of Jimmy that he would treat him differently if he found out? As a matter of fact, one of Lois's points in the previous episode made me realize something. One of Clark's reasons for keeping his secret from Lois was the exact same reason Lois didn't trust Clark wouldn't outright refuse her idea in the first episode. In the first episode despite Lois personally seeing how good a person Clark is, she assumed he wouldn't have helped her with her robot story. In the previous episode despite getting to know her enough to respect and fall for her, he thought she would freely publish his secrets. He assumed despite how much she clearly cares about him that she would betray him like that, that his true identity wouldn't have changed what she would do. It's kind of screwed up how much his insecurity affected how he treats those he would call his friends. It's definitely a "Both sides of the argument are both right and wrong" sort of discussion.
