One thing I will note. Amethyst is the only one who continues to use the weapon upgrade from bismuth. Guess garnet and pearl couldn't stomach the idea of using bismuths weapons after she tried to attack steven and rose, but amethyst has no emotional connection to bismuth so its just a weapon to her

As for Jasper she seems to think of fusion as a purely combat focused technique and not something done out of care. It’s what made Garnet so special after all! It’s less to do with her not understanding consent and more her not having or knowing the personal implications because homeworld gems doesn’t fuse for reasons like that. (This is not a critique or me pointing out any flaw, just something I personally noticed).

I liked how THIS was the real indication of who Pink Diamond was. Gems like Jasper, Amythyst, AND Rose Quartz were MADE to follow their Diamond. So the fact that Rose started a rebellion spat in the face of thousands of years of societal tradition. In the grand scheme of homeworld, the crystal gems are basically terrorists.

Even though Era 1 gems like Amethyst can shapeshift temporarily and make minor changes to their base appearance; they cant permanently change their general shape or mass from what they were “born” with. That’s why rubies have to fuse together to get stronger instead of simply making themselves bigger.

noo alicia you dont get it gems dont grow they stay the exact same size they are when they are born from the ground, the clothes they wear and the weapons they use may evolve but their physical forms dont they can shapeshift but eventually they have to return to what their normal state is

The Fusion between Steven and amethyst is so satisfying and i love the fact it's due to powerful emotion a literal explosion happens. There so much emotion in that episode between their climax, Jaspers resolve and pain showed in just 10 minutes

something you seem to overlook so far in these reactions is that for gem culture, its not a sterotype or a stigma, They are LITERALLY purpose built. All amethysts should be tall broad shouldered soldiers like jasper is, and all other jaspers are exactly like jasper. its like the ruby baseball episode, all the rubies have individuality sure, but they all look the same and do the same job. thats how our ruby was able to infiltrate so easily.

its a theme of the show that people shouldnt be viewed that way and i would go so far as to say its the whole premise. This isnt hate or anything like that im just saying it could be frustrating for you or viewers if you apply your morals to gem society while analysing character moments. Theyre supposed to be the worst
