Ok, Steve earned himself some credit back this episode through the reveal he didn’t do the actual slut spray paint and ditching the assholes he was hanging with. That out of the way, I am continuously impressed by this show. Part of that is because I apparently remember very little about it from my previous watch through and the other is just how objectively good this season is with the main cast acting, storytelling, effects, etc. Also, someone help poor Key out. Dude was catching L’s this reaction.

The Steve glazing is what it is, he was terrible for what he did and that shouldn't have been defended, but I do know you only did it because you knew where his character was going. Steve is genuinely introspective and asked himself "why did I get my ass beat? Because I insulted Jonathan's dead brother. Why was I insulting him? Because he was with Nancy in the alleyway. Why was he with Nancy? Because I spray-painted the movie theater. Why did I spray-paint the movie theater? Because my friends dared me to. Why am I friends with them? I don't know, they're assholes."
