We all have to remember that Will kinda has a messed up childhood 2 years running, was lost in another dimension, had a host inside his body, could feel otherworldly pain, and is trying to be normal, if he's had some regression or is stagnant in a time in which he was more happy, i think thats kinda understandable.

"Anything Nancy related she never has" What? Guys you are being ridiculous. Nancy is literally the one who came up with the plan to kill the demogorgon in season 1. She is also the one who came up with the plan to record the scientists convo in season 2 to help bring Barb's family some closure? Y'all are being just downplaying what's she's done previously. I have no idea where this hate is coming from for Nancy lol. It's like she has to be perfect in everything she does while other characters can mess up without nearly as much scrutiny.

Honestly, I think part of it may be related to Nancy choosing Jonathan over Steve. I get the impression that Alicia at least is still disappointed her boy Steve isn’t the end all be all.

Yeah I have the same feeling too. Not taking into account what Nancy wants. She thinks because Steve is a good guy he deserves her when that's not how that works at all. Steve represents the future Nancy never wanted. He wants a nuclear family with kids and she doesn't want that. She doesn't want to be her mom who married her high school sweetheart and is not in a dead-end marriage.

im kinda glad about their opinion on nancy, loved her on season 1 and 2 but here her arc just feels lackluster and more like a stereotype instead of the character that she was in seasons before, idk details but i would believe they didnt have much of an idea of what to do with her character and they defaulted to some type of tough act that could be cool if there plotline was more interesting and aligned better with what we know of nancy from s1 and 2

As the last kid to really "grow up" when I was younger I relate to Will so hard in this episode. Scrambling to hold onto anything you enjoy while everyone around you loses interest or even shame you for still caring is heartbreaking, and especially devastating at that age. I ended up not really knowing what to do with people when spending time together when I was trying to make new friends. With time I found ways to enjoy time with friends, but it was a really tough time. It took a really long time before I actually started playing D&D and finding that kind of whimsy again. It's kinda funny that the thing Will is trying to hold onto is the thing that brought me back to that feeling. That's just a funny little thing lol
