As an autistic person who had a hyper fixation on police procedurals, I really self-inserted myself into characters like Spencer Reid and Temperance Brennan growing up. Used to binge-watch shows like Bones, Criminal Minds, House (basically a medical Sherlock Holmes), Castle, and The Mentalist. Funny thing is, while Reid was my favourite back then, now re watching it with you guys, I think Gideon is my favourite.

Gideon was the only one who knew Elle was on a train in Texas. That’s why he immediately looked and saw her. It’s understandable that none of the others would have noticed right away because what are the odds your coworker is caught up in the hostage situation you just got called in on?

It's kinda insane that the reason this situation started was because someone supposedly killed themselves by jumping in front of the train and it's just never brought up again after the initial comment by the security guy. Was there just a dead person under the train for the like 4 hours the hostage situation was taking place? 😂

Me: I wonder when Alicia will clue in that buddy isn't real. Alicia literally 7 seconds later: THAT MUTHAFUCKAS NOT REAL! I also feel like Ant and Alicia forget they're watching a TV show sometime, and that the characters A) don't have the information we the viewers have. And B) Are supposed to act like real people. It's perfectly reasonable that they didn't notice Elle right away from the security footage, as they didn't know she was even on a train at all, hence why Gideon clocked it right away. And as well, the victim blaming of Elle is just ... weird. You can be as trained as you want in tactics, but when something like that happens, you have seconds to analyze, process, and react. And pausing for a brief second to do all that is one of the most normal things a person can and will do.

Gideon works as a BAU agent like he sees Mass Effect's Paragon and Renegade quick prompts. He's a Paragon that definitely chooses Renegade quite alot. I bet the agents get tense whenever Gideon is in charge of the phone, too.
