Its the same OP as s3 btw - I think we could get a new one for the final season tho

Broccoli Ben

Fun fact, Taryon Darrington was Sam Riegel’s second character that he played in the campaign (first is Scanlan). Sam doesn’t voice him here for obvious reasons

WillGlacier

THIS is how I find out the new season is out?! AHHHHH!!!

Dragon0921

8:10 Taryon Darrington was Sam's 2nd character while he was taking a break from Scanlan in Critical Role. However for the animated series, Tary is voiced by Wayne Brady! 20:34 - If you don't remember, Priestess Talia was in the first season, who helped Pike try to reconnect with the Everlight after she branched away from the group.

In case people aren't aware of those obvious reasons, it's because Sam had a big scare with throat cancer and had to go in for surgery to have it removed. That emotional song that Season 3 ended with was recorded literally the night before the operation. In the following months Sam literally had to learn how to speak all over again as part of his recovery. Fortunately he is back and healthy as the operation was a success, but this season was recorded during his recovery period and so rather than voice Tary himself, he brought in someone else to play him. That someone else is none other than Wayne Brady, truly the best man I can think of to give Tary the eccentric nature is Sam himself couldn't. As an aside this is also the reason why in Mighty Nein Sam's character Nott speaks with an artificially pitched filter. Sam's voice had recovered to the point he could record himself again but the screeching voice he did for Nott in the campaign was too rough for him to do again so they artificially pitched him up to try and match her voice from the campaign.

Taryon's introduction in the main campagin is absolutely hilarious. It was a rug pull against the whole cast by Sam and his entire design was meant to mock the worst traits of each member in Vox Machina.

Blizzky

What what what, there’s was no advertising that it was out

ChaosSepher

Yeah I didn't know it was out until I saw a Amazon Video recommendation.

Vex being horny is old news by now lol remember the time she opened the door naked for Percy, and the hot tub scene?

KyleIronheart

Matt cant voice all the main npc characters anymore so hes just doing all the other npcs XD

Taka

another fun fact: campaign 1 episode 85. During their play, Scanlan(Sam) leaves the party in a heart wrenching scene only to introduce Taryon(Sam) an hour later releasing that tension like a trebuchet in our hearts.

BakaSama

A Bard’s Lament was absolutely gut wrenching and then Sam sucker punched everyone with the introduction of the complete goober that is Tary Darrington.
