The worst part about being caught up on the manga, is having certain knowledge ahead of your favorite reactors. But all I can say is... Make sure you are wearing a seatbelt

Solus

I was here lol

Orireth

Alicia's loki rant O.O

WillGlacier

That "the world has been destroyed twice" is actually a huge lore drop since it also eludes to the fact that Joy boy was NOT the original Nika, and there was someone (or maybe even multiple Nikas) BEFORE him. That also adds up with the different interpretations of Nika, since Joy boy might have been all about liberation and laughter whilst the previous Nika was all about dominion and destruction. AND THAT might also lead to WHY Loki is the way that he is, he embodies THE OLD NIKA (before Joy boy) who, I am guessing, is known for "destroying the old dominions/ old world orders", which fits with Loki's whole "Destroy the world" thing.

Egregore

Alicia was locked tf in for this episode. W predictions.

Matthew Newton

Facts. All we can really say is Elbaph really is THAT arc. So yeah, buckle up haha

Goobert

Not to be the 'uhm actuhually' guy, but wasn't it basically confirmed already that Nika and Joyboy were always two separate people, given that they're never talked about as one individual? The world was destroyed twice in past, so it'd make sense that it'd have been once during Nikas time, and once during Joyboys. The fact Nikas power gets passed down is seemingly the why Nika gets brought up so much, by inheriting the power you inherit the title

Grandmasta

holy shit they animated Gunko SO WELL!!!

Cashryn Sins

I love how Alicia expects an anime father to step up and parent. What's the definition of insanity again?

Best Gods Knight Gunko

Matthew Ireland

Oh, they ain't ready for the chaos that's about to be unleashed on the game.

Well, Mythological Loki didn’t start out malicious, he was just a god of mischief. It wasn’t until one of his pranks got the beloved by all God, Baldr killed and everyone wanted to string Loki up that he started being malicious and then after being captured, bound beneath the earth, tortured and forced to watch his kids kill each other and then escaping that he decided to burn it all down. So there’s definitely room for Loki to not be the outright spawn of Satan that everyone paints him out to be. Also, as an anime only One Piece viewer, I’d like to pat myself on the back for being right that the two robed figures were Holy Knights/Knights of God…even if it was fairly obvious from the visual cues. Still waiting to see if my theory about what Gunko did to the giant guard in the castle involved Haki or not, or if it was just some variation of her ribbon (for lack of a better word) power.

UltramanUltimo

What was Kaido's strongest attack called again? "Destroyer of three worlds: Ragnarok "? Oda again with that foreshadowing

So that maybe-maybe-not-Shanks-guy is being voiced by "Kenjiro Tsuda", an absolute legend in the voice acting business. (Just a few of his most popular roles: Nanami in JJK, Joker in Fire Force, Hyakunosuke Ogata in Golden Kamuy, Tatsu the titular House-Husband, Kishibe in Chainsaw Man, Overhaul in My Hero Academia, and a gigantic list of further characters.) Him voicing this character instead of the usual VA for Shanks can either mean that it's a different person, or it could be a red herring and an attempt at having us think it's a different person, when really it's just Shanks doing a weird voice as a disguise. Unless we see definitive evidence (Jazz Hands), everything is still on the table.

Okarun

anime only folks: Jeez, why did they completely changed Shanks's design? and why is he evil? Manga readers spinning around vibin' : I'm bulletproofed~ nothin' to lose~ fire away fire away~

DiabloAnos

Like some other fans have said buckle up, and have the tissues ready, new arc new chapter of pain piece.

Nicholas Johnson

24:45 FIRE! I don't remember that from the manga, but it's been a while. Either way, fire response!

My interpretation of this Loki is that he is much, much more controlled and intelligent than he appears, and his reaction to Wolf getting strangled is perfect evidence. He had a moment of getting upset and angry, but he locked it down instantly once he realised that there was nothing he could do, and leaned on his values as an Elbaf warrior to emotionally regulate. Then, he came to a new conclusion in a heartbeat - since he can't use his anger effectively now, he'll hold on to that anger and use it later instead. Very economical of him, and chaotic enough to lean into his namesake.

GreedOfGram

*ominously smiling and twiddling fingers for what's to come*

Dyno

I read Loki's reaction to Wolf's torturous death here as him refusing to dishonor Wolf's sacrifice here, by debasing himself into accepting the Knight's demands. He is their enemy, and that will never change. In the end, he's sending his friend off to their end, and telling them that they won't be going alone if he can help it.

WillGlacier

well duh. I'm talking about the fact that we always KNEW Joy boy was Nika, but we never knew that there were different types of "Nikas". Like Luffy and Joy boy have similar values which kind of makes sense if "zoan fruits have a will of their own", they would want a "compatible host". But if Nika was ALSO known as a god of destruction, dominion, war, etc, that means there have ALWAYS been a different Nika in each era which then explains why Loki's views on who Nika is differs so much from what Luffy is as a person. So in other words, if Zoans have a "will of their own", you could assume that they are capable of "choosing" who they want as their holder. So if Nika is known for ALL those things, then there must be one underlining fact that every Nika embodies (which I believe, pretty obviously, is freedom) It's not so much a "big undiscovered thing!" as it just a "ahh yeah that is pretty cool actually" kind of lore drop that makes you think.

GrimPitbull

Bro I can't wait for Alicia to really see what this arc is gonna be😤 Also Loki 2026 Make Elbaf Great Again! Lol

Lucas Prestes

I love all the gymnastics Alicia’s mind do to explain Lokis actions, like “he set fire to the town? Maybe y’all should be paying a closer look”. Jokes aside I too believe he is innocent

Dannyaceee

All I can say to not spoil you that is not Shanks you’ll learn next episode this sunday

Dannyaceee

It’s a different voice actor so it’s not shanks and you’re right there is more to Loki but it will take a long time for you to learn that in the anime

Hugh Mungus

Loki allegedly killed his father for the fabled devil fruit of Elbaf because he wanted power so badly. And here are the Knights of God offering him even more power and he spits in their faces. Makes you think...

SakakiMaya

Ah the Alicia cope, justifying fratricide because the guy is hot.

NickAsNickName

i mean, i'm not entirely sure if they were there before she attacked him, but it looks like he has white stripes that look similar to the arrows she used on the wolf around his arms - i guess we'll see if it's something else
