misti-step

spocks brain or nelixs lungs? hmm

misti-step

shout out to the lighting crew for that cool "red alert" change!

CommodoreDecker

A micron is a real unit equal to 0.000001 meter.

Sykonee

This was the first VOY episode where the Delta Q' really felt like a scary, hazardous place. Never mind the body-horror of the Viidians (and a far better antagonist than the biker-gang Kazon of the pilot), but the unique dilemmas this crew would have to face. No access to proper medical facilities, so have to get creative for miracle cures. No access to authority facilities, so sometimes you just gotta' let the bad guys go.

Summer

I saw some of season two before I went back to one so I already loved the crew when I watched this, it has just the right amount of creepy, grief and humor. PS if you ever detect signs of something but its not there, leave

V G (Zay)

Ruhroh! Paramount trying to get your ass on YouTube.

jan

Vidians look amazing

Yggdrasil

Yep, short for micrometer or one millionth of a meter.

Yggdrasil

Dammit Paramount!

Crewman #6

"The more he's turned on, the more he starts developing" I am a mature adult. "Let's go back to the station, maybe they'll make me cry." Heh heh.

MJBull

A micron is a millionth of a meter. The EMH is a curmudgeon like McCoy. Crusher was not, and Bashir was supposed bright eyed and bushy tailed newly minted medical officer.

Stephen C

because of paramount i am now giving alex & josh 85 cents a month for 1 year

MJBull

The Vidians are one species that make me angry. They are essentially hunting and consuming other sapient species and seem so damn entitled about it.

MJBull

Neelix's lungs are better. It seems a more plausible application of established in universe technology, and it is analogous to the real life usage of iron lungs for polio victims.

Joshua Hartman

Ya know, as annoying as Neelix is (he gets worse, imo)... he's almost worth tolerating for Kes and The Doctor, who are a good and great character, respectively.

Target Audience

Technically 75 cents after Patreon’s cut, but thank you 🙏

JStrong

Also here to say F Paramount. Thanks for another great reaction!

Drake

Fuck Paramount, the patron viewer is so bad that u can't watch it with bad Internet u can't prebuffer it buffers for me every 2 seconds :( oh man

Drake

The crazy thing about Voyager is that yes it starts strong, but it gets even better.

Smaugustus Gloop

I'm too ADHD to manage the sync-up on the full ep versions--I have to hit pause all the time. I'm pissed Paramount is screwing with ya. I'm glad I found the YOUTUBE VIDEOS section; I'll probably live here.

Me, Myself and I

Thanks for opening up this Patreon tier. I unfortunately can't do watch-alongs because I live in the middle of nowhere in Colorado with terribly slow satellite internet as my only option, and there's no way my connection can keep up with playing the episode on my computer. But, I really like your reactions -- Just stumbled across them a couple of weeks ago -- so I want to be able to watch them regardless of Paramount's shenanigans. And, I'm happy to give you a bit of "tip," too. :) Now to watch the vid...

Drake

We could call him "doctor who"

Theodore Workman

Thanks for doing this. I was starting to go into withdrawal. :)

saar

The holodeck is bigger in the inside!

Jeff Seely

I appreciate you guys opening this tier. I don't have enough time to do full-length watch-alongs, but I always enjoy catching your YouTube edits.

Wichtel Meister

Isn't it funny that just last week on DS9 it was no problem at all to replace virtually ANY organ in Bareil's body and now for Neelix it's impossible to make him real lungs? And they do have all the data because they can make holographic ones... I never noticed before but when you watch it in release order, it's quite jarring... The fun of two concurrent tv-shows in the same universe... ;-)

Admiral Kirk

Thank you for opening this member tier. I really enjoy your YouTube videos. Fun fact. (oops, spoiler)

David

Sorry to hear you got blocked, not the first or last time Paramount made a stupid move against fans of Star Trek they should be more supportive of. Voyager is probably my favourite of the Star Trek shows, there is a comforting TOS feeling that I didn't really get from TNG.

Thamakil

My main problem with patreon is that there is no easy way to watch patreon hosted videos on my 85 inch TV Screen while comfortably lying on my sofa which I strongly prefer over watching them on my PC monitor sitting at my desk. ;) I whish patreon had an app for my amazon fire cube. But this new patreon tier gives me the opportunity of supporting you guys a little bit more while still primarily watching the videos on YT as long as they do not get blocked there :D

Karen Chuplis

Jennifer Lien was only 19 years old. Often considered just OK by fans think she always brings her a-game and is really a good actress.

Karen Chuplis

It took a good while to find the Neelix footing but they do eventually.

Karen Chuplis

But the were a very good villain species.

Robbee Barclay

32:10 Spirk is indeed their couple name 😂

Robbee Barclay

If your tv is a “dumb tv”, I would suggest doing what I do and using a Roku device if you are able to get one. They’re pretty affordable as devices go, and you can cast/screenshare to them from a PC or phone. There’s no Patreon app but you don’t need one, the casting plays nicely with the phone especially, even letting you use the Roku remote to pause the video playing from your phone. (Assuming you can’t cast to a fire stick, that is, I’ve never used one of those.)

Leslie Summey

Vidiian is pronounced Vuh dee un.

Joshua Reeve

The reason Robert Picardo says the Bones line “I’m a doctor, not a…” is because he improvised it during his audition for The Doctor. He added it to the end of his audition, they loved it, and it was added into the show (His improv line that he used in the audition is coming up in the show, so I won’t tell you that he wasn’t a…). Also - he originally auditioned for Neelix, and lost to his good friend Ethan Phillips.

Tulsa Spelled Backwards

You know "Speed" was a pretty cool name, but they should have called it "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down." #simpsonsreference

Reuven Meir Caplan

Not sure you mentioned it yet or not. But the actress for Captain Janeway also played "Mrs. Columbo" in the Columbo spin off show

Dag the Ger of the Mind

I thought the Doctor made it clear that he had limited information on delta quadrant species

Dag the Ger of the Mind

I almost joined the bridge crew way back when you guys started, but i was afraid i would end up spending too much time watching full length videos and chatting. Now that I've seen you grow and improve, I know i would have .

Imogen S

It's taken me like a week to notice all the wrestling terminology/references being thrown around, I'm so new to TA and also have been a wrestling fan since I was 7 or 8 (who the hell even let me watch the Attitude era, seriously Mum and Dad, not appropriate 😂. I think they were remembering classic British wrestling like Adrian Street, Mick McManus, Kendo Nagasaki (the real one, not the WCW one), my guy Rollerball Rocco etc etc and didn't actually check what WWF were up to 😅 Anyway I've started talking British wrestling so this could go on forever, I digress), so these phrases are kinda just natural language to me and I haven't twigged at all until Alex said "Monday Night Wars", I am a boob 😂 Anyway, glad to be here, let's watch Phage and I'll shut up 👍

Imogen S

So when you were kids watching Smackdown (I assume you watched at the time? But I'm four years older than you so maybe not?) you don't remember Voyager ever being mentioned? Interesting.

Target Audience

I (Josh) started watching wrestling in 2002, so Voyager would have already ended. Alex didn’t watch wrestling until high school (2009-2010)

Imogen S

Ah makes sense, you and I started at about the same age then. By the time Alex started though I'd already had a few classes, stop making me feel old and withered 😅

Gary Lewis

I’m so happy guys that you finally realized that Michael Westmore senior is doing the make up. Let me give you a little history here and Michael Westmore senior had nothing to do with the original series, but you see the Westmore family has been in the hair and makeup industry for generations Michael Westmore senior‘s grandfather was Winston Spencer Churchill’s barber in England and he was quite a famous wig maker for people in England, but he packed up the family one day and moved to Canada and then came down through California and settled the family in California the family had I believe like 12 children a couple of them died, but Pat Westmore was the makeup person involved in the original Star Trek during the run from 66 to 69 but every member of the Westmore family for years was the head of makeup for almost each studio Movie division in California and Hollywood and the Westmore’s even had their own make up building on one of the most famous streets in Hollywood, but Michael Westmore senior was trained not by Westmore he was actually trained by John Chambers, who is considered to be one of the great makeup artists in the history of makeup, who also was the first makeup artist to ever win an Oscar for the makeup job he did in planet of the apes where they originally were going to not give it to John Chambers and they wanted to give it to Bud Westmore, who was Another uncle of Michael’s and John Chambers got very upset and said no you’re not gonna give it to him. I’m gonna do it and I’m gonna be the first person to ever win an Oscar but it was Michael Westmore senior who actually trained under John Chambers and went on to do not only make up for Star Trek next generation DS nine and Voyager and enterprise and the movies, but also he is famously known to work for the Koft the guys who created land of the lost and Michael Westmore senior created the Slee stack and the Pikoni from that show so he had plenty of experience making like alien looking creatures now Michael Westmore Junior worked under his father and is responsible for the LED lights you see in both Gord La Forge and data’s LEDs for his body parts of his head his neck when they ever opened him up his arms that was all Michael Westmore Junior‘s work under his father‘s watchful eye, and then when Star Trek came to an end and Michael Westmore senior retired he took the bucket of glue that he used for all of Star Trek to make the mask stick to the actors faces and gave it to his son who repurpose the glue and sold it internationally and made a minimum money and his son owns an international haircoloring company that makes him a ton of money and junior could carry on the family special effect make up career, but doesn’t really have to after working under his father for an 18 year. Making 25 seasons of television.

Tom Roger Edvardsen

Well, trying this patreon thing, for the first time. I am into youtube edits, but that blocking stuff you face now, sent me here. Do you post youtube edits in here regularly? As for this episode, the phage freaks me out, and I dont like Janeway leaving them to keep doing this to others. But I guess she could not execute them... as for Nelix and Kes, not my favorite caracters, but one cant like everyone😄

Saphthings

Yep, Voyager was usually on UPN38, Wednesdays at 8pm for me!

cosmic wave

In Germany Voyager was always one year behind schedule of US release. It was Fridays 8:15 PM on SAT1!
