Just wondering because we’ve been talking about it as a family. Does anyone think a midfield of diomande and sterling would work going forward? The only worry I have about it is the passing ability maybe but that would be a very industrious midfield that could get the ball to the creative players imo.

If Lundstram is in our squad next season then we’re in trouble! He was awful yesterday. His passing was terrible & he slows the game down far too much as he always does when it matters. He hasn’t had a full season with us where he’s hit the ground running he’s always a very slow starter & is a big part of our problems. We need to move on from him & Goldson who should’ve never have been given a new contract with us in the 1st place.

It’s just really stood out the lack of legs we had in midfield when diomande wasn’t playing in the county and Dundee games. I’d agree that a lot of home games it wouldn’t be needed and certain away games.

Please don’t compare Barry Ferguson to Scott Brown - the only thing they have in common is their MENSA rejections. Ferguson was a wonderful player with poise, dig, a goal threat and a great passing range. Brown was to be hunted before he turned into a flat track bully beating up on Aberdeen and the like.

We've made 30m from cheap young English players, Dujon could make that up to 40m if he gets a position to hold down, he's done well and deserves an opportunity. Madness if we renew Lundstram.

Biggest mistake Rangers made for nor persuing Lewis Ferguson. Taylor made captain with everything. Missed opportunity.

I think he looks best suited to that defensive midfield position but his flexibility means that while we’ve had so many injuries he gets plugged in where we’ve got a gap. It’ll be very interesting to see what position the manager sees as his best going into the start of next season. I could see him being an 8-10m player if he continues to develop so I completely agree with that.

Lundstram still has a couple of good years in him. He loves the club and we need British players in our team. He needn't be the first pick for 2 years, we can cycle lunny with Jacks replacement. It's Raskin who needs to go too.

Don’t think there is a comparison as a player. Ferguson was better. We can say what we like about Brown. He was a bully but he was a bully that won 20+ medals and did get inside our heads whether we like it or not. We have needed players with type of mentality for years. Our guys are too nice.

I’m sure we can get better value than lundstram. The boy Lennon Miller from Motherwell would be an option and would also consider loaning him back to Motherwell for the season give him time to develop into an even better player!

I detest Scott Brown, which is the biggest compliment I can give him. If we had a winner like him it would make a difference. Another Barry would probably be sold within two seasons for big bucks.

So we're waiting to see I'd Lundstram gets any better offers like we did with Goldson? Scunnered with this news. We can't be a fall back option for inconsistent players purely bc they're good guys in the dressing room.

I found it impossible be joyous after yesterday's game. It was a semi and I'd have been fuming had we fcked it up, but that result didn't come close to making up for the league form. The league is the one we want - cups are icing on the cake, nothing more. I really hope the manager and players also know that 2nd place in the league, even with 2 cups and a decent run in Europe, is a failure. I agree on Lundstram - I've seen enough and it's time to part ways. He doesn't strike me as a Steven Davis type that just gets better and better, even into his mid 30s. His standard will drop with each passing year (and I'm not sure he's good enough just now) and we'll be hamstrung with him on big money. Bonkers. You only need to look at Goldson for a reason not to tie yourself to a significant and long term deal on a 30+ year old.

From what the manager has seen of Lundstram this year alone it’s understandable why he speaks highly of him. But us fans who’ve seen his ups and downs over the past 4 years, it’s definently time for him to move on.
