When was the last Rangers player to score 30 goals (excluding penalties ). If Dessers was on penalties he would have been on at least 30 by now.

Jordan McKay

20 goals for a Rangers striker should be the league target, not the season target. 30 for the season should definitely be the target.

Colin Gardner

We need to know why we put in such tepid and lack luster performances against Ross County and Dundee. Players should have been chewing down the dressing room door to get the points. Compare to yesterday and it wasn't brilliant but was a professional performance with aggression. Is it a mentality thing as this serial loser pish gets on my nerves.

Alex Russell

We cant afford a 30 goal plus striker.

james whyte

Dessers does what he does, he is what he is. And if we go with him as our number 9 next season then we will be limited im attack again. And if we resign Lundstrum then our midfiled wont improve past where it is now. We need an upgrade on both, if possible. Mr Koppen, over to you.

Graham McCallum

I think that if we were talking about bringing someone in during the summer with Dessers numbers, from a similar sized league we would be delighted. He’s posted very good numbers for a debut season already given his start to the season. I think with Dessers Danilo and a n other predatory striker that’s a potent set of 9s

Alex Russell

But would they sell them at a price affordable to us. If so Miovski over Shankland all day.

David Ashmead

I agree David, Dessers simply can’t be our number 9 in August, I only hope the manager is not blindsided by Lundstram - upgrades required for both positions

Bill’s truth

Miovski is the more mobile and suited to a fast moving front line. Shankland looked really slow yesterday.

Heart and Hand

He ragdolls defenders and is a great finisher. My type of forward! I do like Shankland too but I think Miovski is better.

David Kiltie

I wouldn’t mind Miovski at Ibrox but I reckon the Sheep will set a price we can’t pay.

David Kiltie

People have compared Dessers unfavorably to Morelos, but even before his time at Rangers went downhill Alfredo’s league goal tallies were never that high, am I right?

Billy McCormack

I've said to my mates if dessers scores like that for the remainder of our games and we win a treble I'll get CD9 tattooed on my arm.

David Kiltie

Such a huge lift from yesterday. Obviously in practical terms the weekend results don’t impact the league but psychologically I reckon it is hugely important. We got a good result and performance after a dire week. Had we lost I reckon we would have gone into a tailspin. A year ago a Celtic v Aberdeen semi would have been 5 or 6 nil. They have again shown vulnerability so there is a bit of hope that they can slip up in the remaining games.

Billy McCormack

It was a penalty on Silva, that white line got in his way.

David Innes

Glass half full - yesterday was the spark we needed to kick on and end the season with at least one more trophy in the bag Glass half empty - have we leaned nothing from the last week? Yes, we got a good result yesterday but when it really comes to the crunch they’ll bottle it again like they always do

Blair Patterson

Agree with the thoughts re Lundstram. From the managers point of view though, if he’s looking at huge changes in the squad, like Goldson, Barisic, Jack and more, does he want to hang on to some senior players with knowledge of the club. Phil clearly thinks highly of him, I think as much as many will disagree he’s probably going to end up staying.

Rona Bluebell

Let’s face it, worse case scenario is we are on the verge of finishing second in the league and cup. Sign Lundstrum, and it consolidates that. Something has to change.

Alastair McGeoch

On Lundstrum, I think Clement is giving him the benefit of the doubt due to Beales poor fitness preparation for the season. It’s a big gamble for Clement and one I don’t think will work out. On strikers, we need a number 9 that relishes big games and relishes sticking them in against Celtic. We have not had one of them since Miller.

Callum

Dessers. If he was 19, you’d say clumsy, inconsistent but raw talent that can be developed. But he’s late 20s. He has to go. Souter. Lots of periods with no defending to do and inability to switch on when he needs to are a big issue for a Rangers defender domestically. Given shake up coming he probably has to stay another year. Lundstram. I’d like him to stay another season, for the tighter salary. But we cannot rely on him to play 3 games a week - not sure we can rely on anyone to play 50-60 games in that position.

Graham Roy

Would you have trusted Dessers to score that penalty against Celtic the other week? I personally want the best penalty taker to take them which is Tav. Dessers isn’t good enough as a main striker he ironically would be a decent back up striker but not for the money we pay him!

Vanb bryceter

Lundstram if he stays is a squad player. He will be kept to guide the new and younger guys. Dessers is like a rubic cube unfuckingfathomable. His highlight reel of goals minus a couple of sclaffs must look sensational for this season. Equally the same highlight reel showing his missed opportunitys would make you think he is an absolute haddy. When you listen to all the punditry it is full of contradictions i think that sums him up really. Back up to whoever comes in if anyone or Danilo is my prediction. Will Danilo be the player he was before is the 6 million pounds question

Craig

If we'd bought Dessers for £2m and had been able to rotate him in and out then you'd have to call him a success. As our biggest purchase and presumably one of the top earners, he hasn't been good enough as the main striker. Centre backs - I think we need to move on Davies and (sadly) Goldson and bring in a new undisputed number one starter, along with a guy Souttar can scrap it out with to partner the main man. Souttar can never be playing every week if we want success.

Gordon Smith

I agree, renewing Lundstram’s contract will send a signal to the fans that nothing has changed, and we will continue to accept mediocrity.

Russ

Great lads. The trebles on.
