Tell me a manager that would have done better than PC with that squad .. loads at end of contracts , injuries & attitudes . IMO hes overachieved with that dross .. Give him time .. This will make him stronger ✊🏻✊🏻

Craig Wilson

I want to think this but in still frustrated. To give him credit I think it would have been a very different outcome without the injuries to Sima, Cortes and Danilo.

Gordon Millar

Good pod, totally agree with Iain, said after 10 mins that Lundstram was a liability and needed changed, even that early, it was that obvious that his immobility was leaving us badly exposed. I back Clement but agree he has a massive blind spot on Lundstram.

He over achieved in first period of his term Unfortunately the effort to get back into the league wasn’t sustainable. After closing the gap we couldn’t then go again to take a lead If come end of season we can say he got us both cups and got us to last 16 of EL then I don’t think you can argue that is a great initial spell

It is undeniably frustrating, but let's be honest, what were our expectations when he took over? In my opinion, he hasn't missed any targets so far. Realistically, which manager could have come in after Beale and immediately won the league with that squad? When I consider it objectively, it was always going to be an impossible task without a complete collapse from Celtic.

Richard Stewart

I don’t want Lundstram anywhere near Hampden for the final - not in the squad or in the stands. If we win the cup, he doesn’t deserve to be in the presentation as he’s let us down massively.

Tom McDavid

Re selling Goldson, his injury surely complicates things. If he is not back in training till pre-season who would risk buying him.

Craig

There are 3 reasons we got ourselves back into a title fight this season. 1 the manager, 2 their form dipped and we clawed points back and 3 Jack Butland. He kept us in games when it was tight. Rugby Park, Easter Rd etc… I’m hoping Europe and potential CL keeps him here. He would be mental to join Forrest!

David Baillie

The manager has been hamstrung due to the incompetence of Beale and Wilson. I hope he can read the room and exclude Lundstrum from the final squad. If he plays him and we lose it will be difficult to get the support back onside. Someone should be counselling him.

Good show lads with some difficult material. I haven’t listened to the Roundtable since before the Ross County defeat. But this line up wooed me back

My only problem with the post OF analysis is the degree of blame being apportioned to the manager. Yes he has made mistakes, but realistically they are not the critical ones. Our form started going backwards when Cortes got injured, who had been brought in as a sticking plaster for our comically imbalanced squad. Add to that the Yilmaz injury and the left side went BM from being our strongest weapon to being almost nothing most of the time. Yes he appears to have stuck with Goldson and Lundstram too long (and I agree that their time is up), but in the end that has not been pivotal. I just find talk of a manager who inherited a shambles going into next season under pressure is the kind of self harm that is creating a feedback loop of failure. A good listen though. Thanks guys.
