Figured the intro music would be "Feel A Whole Lot Better" today. Certainly will be when the "you're gone" applies to about 15 people in our squad.

Graham Roy

I’m slightly more positive today. Manager took a squad built by Michael Beale to the brink of greatness. If he is backed properly he can win the league next season!

John Smith

Don’t mind what the away kit is as long as it’s got white socks, preferably white boots as well and non white top and shorts. Always think that’s a good visual

Greg McEwen

Good to hear progress on first signing and agree it’s the first time Clement has publicly talked about an extensive rebuild FF is meanwhile debating about whether Butland is off to fund further moves - i think it’s inevitable we look to reshape the profile of the squad and that implicitly means changing our “leadership group” of age 30+ duds (To be clear Butland is great but I reckon he does go)

Allan Fowler

I think Danny Armstrong is a good player worth a punt.

Colin McL.

There was going to be a squad turnover regardless given the number of OoC. Will we be able to move on the likes of Lawrence, Dowell, Davies, Wright, Matondo etc or are we going into another season with them as squad options or injured?

Allan Osborne

I said at the end of the game at the weekend "I wonder how many will be "injured" for the next one". It's totally predictable with this lot. Go into the cup final with that many missing and we've not a hope in hell.

Tamus

The manager is making a James Hunt of himself re Lundstrum

Glen Kane

The only manager the board have backed was the PE teacher. They need to step up this year.

Bill Jones

Quite like Armstrong from Killie. Miovski I'd like but will most likely be heading to the Championship like Leeds

Billy Forrester

Connor Barron on a free is a no brainer, we don’t have untold millions to spend so to get this lad in for nothing or a development fee is a must

Jim Milne

We need to sign a couple Scottish players in the summer.

Stuart McNiven

The 6 out of contract will go. Funnily enough, the only one with an outside chance of staying is Balogun but I don't think he'll be offered a new deal. The 3 loans - Hagi, Lammers and Cifuentes are surplus to requirements (Hagi would have been brought back if that wasn't the case). Others such as McCrorie, Wright, Davies and possibly with his totally-not-cryptic social media post Todd Cantwell, will have to move in order to be regular starters. Then you're into the realms of the players who we might get offers for, Butland and talk of interest from Italy in Dessers. There is a huge opportunity to do this right. Diomande and Cortes have pace and energy and the ability to take the ball on the move and on the half-turn and that should give us hope that Koppen and Galinski have the identikit of what Clement is trying to do.

James McSween

I’ve always like Josh Campbell at Hibs.

Leslie White

The fact the lack of Scots Rangers Minded, both in players and management. To me Alex Rae is a no, no, we need an ex player with the heart of a Lion that can motivate our players, and let them know what is to play against Them! As for Scots players we may need to go for those with potential, that could be coached to first team standards. We must go back to a hard core goalie, midfield, forward preferably with U.K. /Scottish!

Craig

I think the manager talking abouts players giving their all until the moment they leave was just him putting it out there than Lundstram won't be staying.

Steffen McAndrew

"Made a colossal arse of things" is the biggest understatement of what Beale got up to last summer! I keep banging on about changing the spine of the team; hopefully this chap Cordoba is a good starting point.

Russ

I don't see how we shift Goldson and Tav though tbh. Both have 2(!) years to run on their deals, legs have completely gone and have a terrible recent CV (post Seville). Turns out handing 4 year deals to 30 year olds isn't actually bright football business.

Gareth Williams

Connor Barron Lennon Miller Miovski but I doubt we’d shell out what the sheep would Want.

Paul

I thought Clement was more savvy with the media " his not that big a gap comment" should have been batted away. Now the clip goes viral. These comments have been laughed at for years. Simply say the league doesn't lie, we must and will do better. XG talk and points in 6 months. Means nothing. Only winning does.

Paul

Wow just read he was also asked this and we got this reply "Would I have changed the team or done something differently? Maybe for other games but for this (even with hindsight) no" Alarm bells are ringing

Gregg

Couldn’t care less personally what a manager says in a press conference

Paul

Generally, I'm much the same mate. Full of clichés and generalisations. But when he starts going on about XG and the gap not being that big, then the fans start asking questions. I find some of the stuff he says quite bizarre.

Gregg

Fair enough - genuinely couldn’t give one fuck about it.

The last few days have been as bad as I have ever felt as a bear as the reality of the deepening damage and neglect was there to see warts and all The result is one thing but the reality of knowing this could all have been avoided as close as January Our recruitment policy has and is a shambles Patch repairs and contracts handed out like mars bars Be as well on Mars as some of the decision made on this side recently have been that stupid they are alien to a sensible bear John lundstrums never been a player and worrying more our Belgian boss thinks he is a corner stone to build a team round . Very worrying Try Something New I know we are trying to move on from Saturday troops but my blood is up and am so angry and yet another title hand me out The most successful team in the world tag hangs by a thread Everything struth and smith built in sep eras will wash away if Bennet , kopen and clement don’t get the fucking finger out and build their own legacy era Club culture for me is as big as the playing squad The club culture is a mile off what I recognise as Rangers

Ross Stewart

Barron would be a no brainer for me. Also like the look of elie youan if he was trained a bit at finishing

G Calder

On refection -PC has rinsed as much as he could out of this squad , i doubt any other manager would have done much better TBH. We need to suck it up & give PC a chance - one full pre season & one full season , then see where we are . It might take longer- but we cant just keep changing the manager .

Jordan McKay

I think Clement was deliberately trying to protect the fragile egos of this squad to try and keep them motivated for the title run in, but the gloves are off now because the league is gone. I feel a lot better knowing that he’s actually publicly acknowledged our concerns instead of trying to pretend they don’t exist.

Robbie McCarroll

Can’t believe lundstrum has been starting before Raskin it feels like a stubbornness we have seen in recent years team selections some managers doggedly sticking to the known selection and hoping it’s comes good.

Neil Wilson

When Clement first arrived, he was asked about how would he describe his style of play. He said: It's always been a dominant style of play. Also, Waasland-Beveren, the first team I started with was a relegation team, but we played dominant football and we got results with that style. It's something I really want, to take charge of the game. I want to create but out of good organisation. But at the end, it is all about winning. However, my style is towards creating chances, creating spaces for ourselves and with a lot of changing of the positions of the players. For that you need a lot of movement with different players together. It's about timing and it's about working together well. So, it needs time to implement all these things. Based on that along with comments throughout his tenure, I think its safe to say we are going to get young, more athletic team with energy. Still think it'll be a dozen out and similar amount in.

Alastair McGeoch

I thought Wayne Rooney comments after Man U lost to Arsenal yesterday were interesting as I feel Man U are in a similar state to us in terms of being stuck in a repeating cycle of failure. Rooney talked about being sure there are a number of Man U players “injured” as they don’t fancy the pressure and criticism that comes with it but they will be fit for the cup final and the euros. I think the number of injuries we have had the past few seasons is indicative of the mentality riddled through the squad. We have a squad of players who like playing for a big club but do not have the mentality for it. I will bet money that we will ship the likes of Roofe and Matondo out to some middle table teams down south and they’ll put a run of 20-30 games consecutively together.

Roddy Wylie

You can’t play dominant football against a better team unfortunately that’s where we’re at, at the moment.. re Raskin he needs to look in the mirror as to why he’s not played more

Craig Armstrong

Have to agree with David. I'd have Miovski in a minute. I just think he will bevoutwith our budget. Miller and Watson too would be worth more than passing consideration. Although younger fitter hungrier players is what we want I really think we'll need a bitvof experience in there. A new stronger harder leader Paddy McNair maybe? But we have no option but get 90% of the signings absolutely right this summer. One issue I have is actually selling the players we need tonsell. Will Tav go before a Testimonial, will we get a sale for Goldson with his injury. Will we get interest in others,Wright, Matondo, Lawrence Dowell Cantwell?

David Innes

Is Wright not out of contract? Personally I think we’ll probably be forced to sell Butland (who I’d replace with Angus Gunn) to fund the scale of re-build that’s required.

Craig Armstrong

Of Wright is ooc then that's fine. Butland is certainly going as far as I'm concerned. The money we get for him is crucial to what we can do

Gregg

Roofe definitely won’t - his body has failed him, it’s not a mental thing. Always seems desperate to get back - from what i can see. Just the way it is. We need to try and avoid taking those gambles going forward

Scott Tolmie

C Barron over the 2 boys you said for me, boy has real potential.

Greig Neilson

Been a long time since I heard that song, cheered me up a little, Davie.

Andrew Meldrum

David, has Clement even been asked if any players know they are leaving? I suspect there are a few names he might put in the public domain now (McLaughlin, Jack, Borna...) and it would be interesting to hear what he would say if asked. On Scottish players, I think we can il afford to use our overseas player quota on back up keepers and McLaughlin going would leave us needing a new one. There are precious few about - I don't rate Zander Clark for example. Laidlaw at Ross County had always impressed and at 31 maybe has the experience needed in a back up keeper. Or am I being daft?

Heart and Hand

He’s said there are no discussions on players futures till after season end. Undoubtedly unlikely but that’s the public position.

Mr J K Murray

not going to boil me heid with this continuous renascence of this team,it is down to mangement, recall young Ross getting unjured in the league & his formed has dipped since then,no card, they are like a low budget movie with buxom women in position, fools by adversity become wise, hic,

Luke

Evening, any thoughts on jack butland leaving at the end of the season? Hopefully not but I get the feeling it's a strong possibility. If so what would the club be after in your opinion. If he is in the England squad then surely that would boost his value. We have another huge rebuild and the money has to come from somewhere. I Would be gutted to see him go.

David_Davy_Dave

Low ball for Shankland (£1m) and Miovaki (£2.5m) Both clubs won’t be able to resist bitching about it to the press. We will need to come up but it helps deflate other offers they might receive Agree on Baron, Miller and Watson. I also think rough as he is Theo Bair might be coachable We need to get smarter in dealing with other SPFL club eg Killie have done well with Mayo and Well with Devine on loan King, Lowry, Devine and McCorie need moved on and can be make weights in any deal either as a permanent sale or loans

Bill McCairns

I’m with you on strips David but I’m older than you. I do think we should be looking at getting onboard the best of the young talent in the league.

Douglas Innes

Eck came in during the season and won a cup double ( think ) his next season wasn't to bad either

Paul

Raskin isn't very good. Lundstram isn't very good. There is the problem. Raskin has suddenly become a better player not playing. Always happens. He has shown very little in a Rangers shirt.

William Given

What do you actually think is going on with the injury situation at Ibrox , listening to the manager yesterday it seemed very cryptic about stuff and personal behind the scenes 🤔 I obviously don't know the workings behind the scenes at the training centre but there is clearly a massive issue. What's your thoughts ?

Douglas Innes

Sheep apparently turned down a deal worth £6million last summer and reckon they can get £8-10 million this summer , given that leeds paid a possible £12 million for Piroe if promoted I don't think £2.5 will tempt the sheep

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David. I like your menu for dinner but got to admit I am very fond of our funky 4th kit this season. You were right. We never did see the 3rd kit again after Killie on matchday 1 did we? Everyone is disappointed or angry (or both!) or just plain scunnered. But 'everyone' had chucked the league in Sept! Good runs, hopefully winning the cups by the new manager set as an objective back then. Got one, in the final for the other. Can't be turning our noses up at a Cup double - when was the last time we did it? We get it and it's progression. Last 16 in the UEL too, just pipped by a side of far superior quality and depth. The manager is, and has been, hindered by injury. As we're Gio, Beale and even Gerrard. Dial back in time and the Souness & Smith eras are full of it too - so something is badly wrong in that dept at our club. Clement has identified this and believes he has a solution, which no other manager has done. Beale said Gio's team weren't fit enough, personally believe it was the hangover from the run to Seville (a run which did ultimately cost us the league that season!). When he arrived Clement actually looked disgusted at the level of fitness Beale had them at. Clement made us believe by showing us results. He got the very best he could out of the situation he inherited. All I heard from fans at the time was "it's a bin fire". Well Big Phil put the fire out, rescued what he could from the blaze and used what he could to its maximum capability. He ran that mhob close with fire damaged goods! Now it's time to repair, rebuild or renew. This is currently as big a rebuild as Gerrard faced. We have to be patient, we have to let new players settle - and BTW, what a job by Dessers at the presser. That's the character, spirit, composure and attitude I want from my Rangers players. Out into the lion's den knowing there was a mhedia savaging coming, plenty of 'exclusively exclusive' traps set if he slipped up in the slightest. He looked them in the eye, took their provocation calmly represented the club honestly and with dignity. All the games were resolved by fine margins. And favourable, game altering, decisions in three of them. Just where was the club Captain after a title conceding defeat to our arch rivals anyway?
