Will be a huge cost of hiring another ground. Will that be claimed back from the contractor I wonder

David_Davy_Dave

MASSIVE NO from me for hiring Hampden. I’d rather our money went to the SRU for hiring Murrayfield It’s a disaster though. Even a couple of games in we will find the novelty will soon disappear

George Higgins

Hampden not available. Likely to be Murrayfield.

Jim McCutcheon

Massive blow the nock on effect from this 😐, get well soon David 👍

Miguel Sanchez

The level of incompetence within rangers is truly staggering. Year after year there is nonsense galore between consistently claiming to be free of SD but their shadow still looming till this day, edminston house being late and grossly over budget, appointing managers, staff and players that routinely need to be changed every year or two. Clubs a total laughing stock and I take no pride in saying that.

John Smith

There would’ve been something quite funny about simply the best belting out at Parkhead

Glen Kane

The club will need to compensate people who can't, or won't, travel to Edinburgh. What a shit show.

Graham McCallum

The logistics of using Murrayfield will be difficult to say the least. It will impact the police with 2 games a weekend being played in Edinburgh

David Campbell

If we kick off our European campaign away from Ibrox. Is that us out for the season?

james whyte

Season not even started and already a shambles.

John Trousdale

Trying to look for some sort of positives.... if we did use murrayfield for the euro qualifiers, would the extra 16k tickets (roughly) we sell be able to cover the extra costs associated with using that stadium?

Piggott

Bisgrove's Saudi job was perfect timing for him

Paul

Anyone confident that it will only be a month's delay? I'm certainly not

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

If there’s gonna be a delay I wished they started works on both stands and not just one of them 😡

Genuine question, for folk who can’t afford the travel to Edinburgh (if it’s Edinburgh) surely the club need to subsidise travel or refund season ticket money for those games.

Adam Faulkner

Trying to look for any positives - Murrayfield capacity is 67k or so, would allow for higher ticket revenue to offset loss of hospitality revenue for the games played away from Ibrox

Graeme McLeod

Positives for who though? Club might offset the cost of renting Murrayfield, but the majority of fans are out of pocket with added travel costs - and some won't be able to attend - and the Rangers pubs near the stadium lose out in their expected revenue. There aren't positives here. It's more nonsense under this board.

Graeme McLeod

Absolutely no chance of the club doing that. That'd require the board giving a toss about the fans.

Roderick Boyle

No surprise re the delay as companies have outsourced manufacturing for many years now for cheap labour and to increase the profits for shareholders with steel being a prime example as that probably now comes from China instead of the UK and I’m sure that is the reason for this .

Brian Rae

Taking the stadium apart without having the new materials to hand was a reckless gamble that's badly backfired. Looks like Bisgrove jumped at the right time as they would have known about this week's ago. This board are running out of rope.

David_Davy_Dave

This won’t be a popular solution but hear me out… Can we not move to Murrayfield for the season? Any supporter who can’t or won’t travel keeps their season ticket for Ibrox 25/26 but gets a refund and can sit out the season at Murrayfield Presumably we will do front of Broomloan and Govan? If that’s the intention get it all done otherwise are we not having the risk this disruption is repeated the next two summers as well? There is potential upside on selling more tickets in a bigger stadium too. The risk is empty seats and a bad atmosphere if things go badly on the field

Jordon Dykes

I know this isn’t ideal but could they not play it at auchenhowie behind closed doors and RTV could show it to season ticket holders for free ? Look at how we done the season of covid behind closed doors.

Gregg

Murrayfield is typically a flat fee - if we can sell out games then the uplift (17k fans) will more than cover the cost

greg sutherland

The only realistic option is seeking to limit the number of games at Ibrox and shutting the Copland. You will piss of 15000,but you will piss off 60,000 if games moved to Murrayfield. That is INSANE

Graeme McLeod

The club absolutely cannot afford to play games at Auchenhowie and lose out on match day revenue. Don't think season ticket holders will accept an RTV stream in place of going to the game - we only did during covid as there was no other option other than cancelling our season ticket.

Adam Faulkner

Aye, trying to set my pessimistic nature aside to find any positives of Murrayfield whatsoever and that’s all I could come up with! Complete shambles and as mentioned on the pod, we need everything going in our favour to start the season with a raft of new signings and this is a setback before a balls kicked.

John F

How the hell did the worlds greatest hermit catch covid? 😂😳 😷 Only kidding David, get well soon mate!!

John Hood

Not surprised a major stadium works project is not running to timescale. Board should have been up front at the outset, then they/we could have planned accordingly. Very disappointing 😞

Max Todd

Got a funny feeling that Murrayfield stadium is actually used during the winter for some weird game involving egg-shaped balls.

Gregg

Are we doing the other stands? I thought this was re the disabled space - could be wrong

Robbie McCarroll

Yeah this seems sensible not the end of the world short term but the club should certainly give season ticket holders a gratuity of some sorts

Fergie

I take it Bisgrove knew this was coming and got out before the shit hit the fan.

David Campbell

I don't see Edinburgh happening either potentially 3 team's in the same city at the same time. If hearts v that mob are a 12.30 ko and we are due to be at"home" at3pm how would that work. Not a chance that's happening. That's why I think all our games will be away until it up and running.

stefan strzelecki

Tata steel made the decision to close their steel making operations, at port talbot , to diversify their business for net zero . The UK is now wholly reliant to steel imports from China . This has been well published from the beginning of the year. This should not be revealing information to the senior executive board of Rangers. It reiterates the lack of business acumen to manage our club successfully . There may be individual entrepreneurs, who can excel in their own dominion with competence . It’s obvious that many don’t have the foresight to manage a majestic club such as ours. Got to say , I said at the time , when Bisgrove left us in the lurch , that his contribution to our club , was nowhere as positive , as was being polarised by our community , and wider Rangers fan media . The board who hired Bisgrove , have observed , as custodians of our club , the building fabric of the club , literally being deconstructed, without oversight , planning , to ensure adequate replacement materials were wholly accessible within the Uk , to ensure the fundamental elements of the business , is sacrosanct. Are these board individuals competent enough , to prevent the recruitment another snake oil salesman CEO? We must attempt to get the national stadium . It’s inconceivable to expect the majority of our supporters , who live and work in the city of Glasgow , to travel across the country , with their duties to employment and family. The board hired an incompetent CEO , who has been in it , over his head . They need to make the right choices going forward.

Jordon Dykes

How much will it cost them to hire out Murrayfeild but ? And what about fans who might not be able to get there as easily? And then could they not make it non season ticket holders could by the match ? That will bring in a few quid and a get season ticket holders wouldn’t be happy but it’s only for a few games. It’s no like this happens every season.

Ian Irvine

“Forgive the term……I don’t know how concrete that is” Ffs 😂

Peter Hosie

I don’t joke but hopefully Murray can pull some strings as we need these CL qualifiers at Ibrox especially for the players
