Progres… and to think I was looking forward to this morning!

Haining84

The feeling leaving the pub after the 2nd leg knowing I had to face tims the next day at work was horrific.

Conor Brown

I remember having just moved into my new flat and having absolutely zero furniture, but for the Progres second leg setting up a camping chair and TV to watch it on Premier Sports. Trauma

Alan Sheppard

Episode 5? Have I missed two shows?

Colin Mathie

I know im getting old, but i assume you meant to label this episode 3, right?

Maca82

Remember the away leg: on a Sun caravan holiday in Morecambe (I know) when my kids were wee tots thinking things can’t get much worse drinking Stella watching some camp lad do the Macarena badly… refreshes timeline oh ffs!

Stuart McWilliams

The point about the role Halliday ended up playing for Gerrard is an interesting one given the current debate about the merits of Kenny McLean. He could end up having a similar role.

George Higgins

Watched it in a pub in Edinburgh. Full time. Stunned silence. Pub full of Gers fans. Silence broken by sound of my pint glass slamming on the table as I stormed out.

James Curran

Progres my son’s first ever match. What an introduction to the world of Rangers.

Al Robert

Hard to decide whether I think this is our worst ever result or one of the losses in the third division. Probably this given that we should definitely have been a serious club again by then.

Greg

Nuh the game where the opposition manager got married instead of taking his team against us was worse.

Charlie Nicolson

Progress. After leg 1 my boss (an Ovie) say's "that's you through then". I wasn't so complacent. I said not to be so sure.

Don’t forget in the pantheon of legendary one-name players the likes of Ariaga, Ariaga II, Bariaga, Aruglia and Pizzoza!

Moody Marco

Really? Superb, they’re my favourite soccer stars! Will I get to see all of them?

Moody Marco

You and Dave really need to do a deep dive on that episode in Springfield Files!

Funniest thing ever was the FF match thread for the World Cup in 2006 when Portugal played Mexico; I started the thread and said “this match will determine who the best team in the world is, I wonder if Ariaga is playing?” The thread went on for hundreds of posts, with approx 50% being confused people going “what/who the fuck are you lot on about?” and the other 50% saying “who’s playing center?” and “this could be tasty after the crowd trouble the last time they played!”

Vivid memories of Progres away and missus out in the garden making outfits for kids in a drama club they did while I watched the game in the kitchen. I think it was the first time she really “got” how emotional football could see me 😳 I was in that state of “no speak seathing” for a while. Just a nightmare and my youngest who was starting to pick up Rangers was a bit like, “what the F is up with Daddy?”

Was on holiday at the time - watched the 2nd leg on my phone in the hotel room and had to stay quiet cause my 2 year old was asleep. It’s definitely up there with the angriest I’ve ever been after a football match in my life but it made the UFA result the following season all the sweeter.

Remember watching the Progres away game in a flat I’d just moved into. Had my old man, brother and a couple of mates round for it. And similar to what David said, when the full time whistle went we all just sat in stunned silence for about 5-10 mins. Then everyone just left, without really saying anything to each other. Went to Luxembourg the next time we played them, in the hope we’d put about 7 past them and banish the ghost. And we drew 0-0 in one of the most boring games I’ve ever been to. Least we went through though😂

Fraser Black

Totally forgot Jordan Rossiter played this game! Think he disappeared again not long after & reappeared for the infamous 5-5 Hibs game.

The 4th of July has always been special to me as I was born on that day back in 1975! Not having many games if any on the actual day I couldn’t wait! Celebrations on and off the park so I thought! Thanks Perdro, ruined that day forever 😊
