Asking for a sell on percentage for someone who isn't even under contract is ripping the pish, surely?

John Hood

Torn regarding Dessers. Agree his goal v Betis was best of the season. Hope Danilo (not convinced in games so far) and whoever else is brought in can do the job. Support will not tolerate another championshipless season. Big pressure on PC!

Ross MacFarlane

Is it not more a case of premature evacuation for Tav?

Angus Mackay

Perfect synopsis of the Dessers situation, Davie. I like the big guy and I think he’s been far from the flop sone make out. But you’re right, he misses too many vital chances to be the difference maker we need. One other thing I would add is that he’s a player that needs to play regularly to show his best, so it’s unlikely that we’d even get the best out of him in a back up role. Best for all that he moves on with our thanks and best wishes.

Rona Bluebell

Well done young Harry, donated 💙

Graham Roy

when do tickets go on sale or did I miss that?

Ian Stewart

Like the way in their statement they mentioned how they had to go to tribunal for Ferguson. They offered 100k and only had to pay 250k so have a brass neck now the shoes on other foot.

Andy McG

Donation for Harry.

Martin Whitelaw

Gutted I can't make the live show got tickets for the Teskey Brothers same night at the Kelvingrove Bandstand

Charlie Nicolson

If "a number of clubs" are interested in Dessers then let bidding commence, surely?

Rod

A sell on fee for Barron, they can dream on.

Colin Campbell

How much did the sheep pay 💰 for Ferguson from Hamilton?

David Innes

Would the SPFL tribunal be genuinely independent or there is a risk we get shafted and have to pay even more than Aberdeen are asking for?

Graeme Guthrie

Burrows sounds like he's expecting a transfer fee from the Tribunal, not a development fee.

John Johnston

I would throw in Scott Wright for free to sweeten the deal.

William Given

Hi David , glad to hear your sounding better , will the cheif execs get an email link ?

Rose Mcloughlin

Good luck harry and dad.....hope the weather is good for you.

Martin Davies

Wonder why Aberdeen are entitled to anything. Barron is out of contract and essentially out of work. If Aberdeen are due a fee, surely this restricts his ability to work wherever he pleases? This seems like an outdated rule that somehow survived after the Bosman ruling.

Graeme McLeod

Doubt it, as they'd set a precedent that would come back to bite teams like Aberdeen.

Heart and Hand

Development fee, yeah. He is free to work where he wants but UEFA mandate development fees so any affiliate leagues need to enforce it.

Martin Davies

Just really surprised this is still a thing. What if Barron's choice of future employer couldn't pay? I'm not sure this would survive a legal challenge to UEFAs policy. It does protect the club who brought the guy through their youth system. But seems wrong through an employment lens.

David Kiltie

Agree, the development fee rule makes sense but I don’t see how any club could demand a sell-on for a player who leaves on FOC.

David Kiltie

Typical posturing by the Sheep. Everyone knows that if the clubs can’t agree a fee it goes to a tribunal. I would have thought £500k would be considered a realistic offer. They tried to shaft Hamilton over Lewis Ferguson. Also when Burrow says that they will seek maximum amount- they would be failing in their duty not to do so. That said, I remember 12 years ago other clubs in Scotland were willing to do themselves out of revenue just to stick the boot into us.

I take it the Ryan Sessegnon stories are pure clickbait too, i do wish so called rangers sites wouldn't run with the usual suspect rags stories for their own clickbaits. Sessegnon has an injury record like Roofe ffs.

Fair comment on Dessers David, slightly disagree around which goals matter but that’s just opinion, all goals matter and he has scored in every competition, if it’s the 2nd or 3rd goal to make it comfortable in a team that wasn’t prolific it matters to my mind. What I totally agree with is the desire to sell while he is hot, it is the time to maximise money and minimise any age related decline. My only concern remains the tremendous expectation we are putting on our number 9 recently. The league, the market and how we play isn’t creating the chances for one guy to score 30 odds. Even if it was relying on one guy that’s a single point of failure leaving the rest lacking match sharpness or susceptible to injury. I think the model needs to change, I also think relying on a striker for hold up nullifies their output in the box. Happy to go younger up front, more dynamic but in our price range I doubt we upgrade from recent strikers, Colak was a guy I would have built around, Dessers to me we could get more from playing partner or carving out more but whoever comes in we need to temper expectations and stop the wild ‘he should get 40’ claims as nobody in this league has in recent years. Ironically Tav has probably been the most consistent 20+ goal man in the league for years. The hope is a better team structure, more dynamic forward thinking players make more chances but against our week in week out low block I’m not sure we get much more joy regardless of personnel. My own preference is to change the game, be unconventional and go 442 with a partnership, bin the 10 experiment and get a relationship going up top so we can rotate in and out but keep some a bit of stability. I get it’s not popular but I would love to see us be something a bit different and be entertaining again. Anything but dirge ball as it’s almost are soul destroying as watching Scotland and the negative nonsense they play.

David - if we have offered 500k for Barron, and it goes to tribunal - can they actually decide on a fee lesser than the 500k we offered ? Or would the 500k be a starting point?

James Barrie

Thank you, I’d just love for that to happen - agree unlikely but would make for good laughs
