Having watched the interview now with the gaffer, i think some of the quotes looked worse in print than it actually came across. Just my opinion.

Jamie Gilchrist

David, last week Cammy mentioned talks were initiated the previous Sat regards Lennon Miller - any movement/noise? Thanks!

I don’t even drink Bob, but I have a back condition so sitting all day like that absolutely kills me the next day! The young H&H team are just all hungover to hell 😂

SDF

I don't think it was just the level of the squad that shocked the manager when he arrived, I think he was also astounded at some of the decision making and aspects of the running of the club that was going on when he got here. I don't think there's a single department of the club he hasn't criticised since October.

John Myles

That’s the most down you’ve sounded in a daily update since Seville David, should we be worried?

No, I’m not down I’m just absolutely cooked mate after yesterday. My back has seized up and I can barely move!

stephen

I'm honestly usually fool of misguided optimism in the close season. It's like I'm confused as to which disaster I should focus in on....... Brutal.....

Leslie White

Roumours ! Another bloody Midfielder, and he’s going to score goals? Sorry it’s attackers, wingers, I.E. forwards to score goals, are we not already heavy laden with average midfielders!

Mr J K Murray

trust your health conditions improve sir, manager not going to walk away from such a support based club la,we go out of der trenches for these players, club. Not to focus on the negative but can only say I am inpressed with his use of the English' language. Say the temperature is radical in America, we are still incognitio after years of this, bad management la

Graham Jones

It sounds like a misunderstanding, and has probably been picked up late in t he day due to the delayed release. They will need to keep an eye on the press regrading this, because it’s been weaponised in the past to cause the most damage. I don’t think that was the case this time, but it did cause confusion. At the end of the day he didn’t;t say anything that was untrue, it just wasn’t put in context and left to cause a stir. At the end of the day we need to bring in players and move ones on that the manager is prepared to let go.

Hope your better soon mate I should have listened to the start of the update.

I thought the reaction to the comments was way over the top. People leapt to assumptions, but we were still being attributed with making offers through sources like Fabrizio thingy on Twitter. Clement had also told us a few days prior we would be looking at more experienced players now. We have a bloated squad and will need to trim it, so it goes that we'll need to offload players to buy some. This can be done simultaneously or across a window. This Summer has been one of the worst I can remember with respect to hysteria from the fan base. I really can't face a slow start to the season because if we drop points in a couple of our first few games the noise will be unbearable. We've replaced a load of players who were, frankly, a waste of a place in the squad. That in itself should be exciting. If we can upgrade a few other positions from here then it'll be a bloody good window. It'll all come out in the wash of course but I really just want a week of nervous excitement.

William Alston

So the rangers review and others are playing us like a fiddle, club need to get a grip and realise the traditional media are not our friends

BlueJay

Anyone else feeling the delay in getting players going to negativity affect the team down the line? Phil says the team struggled after Xmas cos of poor pre season conditioning last year. Hope I'm just being paranoid

Angus Mackay

I thought Empire’s post on X and FF at the weekend nailed it. There has to be a recognition in the support as to just how bad a situation the manager has been landed in. He’s shown before that given time and space he can build a winning team; given our resource shortcomings we have no choice but to get behind and stay behind, his you lng team as he and Koppen actually build the trading club we need and demand. No one is talking about throwing seasons, we just need to recognise that it’s going to take a while and it’s going to involve set backs. There is literally no other way unless we get a one in a million moonshot, and personally I o don’t fancy those odds.

David, that daily update basically came straight from the ibrox press room. The comical Ali approach. Stop polishing turds and call Bennett out for being inept and nowhere near what we need as a chairman. Out his depth is being kind.

David_Davy_Dave

Not one of our players was in the face of Ajax or the referee over that tackle Sick of that sort of weak behaviour

Gregg

Maybe the chairman could get you in as head of PR Brian.

Colin Mathie

Changes in the medical dept, i hope one of them is Wallers departure.

Iain Campbell

David, many thanks for reading the shout out and for posting the link for the charity walk. It's very much appreciated

Bennett has been way out of his depth Brian which I’ve said on shows previously. But on a daily news show I do the daily news rather than rant and rave. This idea though that if people aren’t screaming blue murder constantly it must be for some nefarious reason is just wrong. Read the comments above, plenty feeling same way as me. I can’t possibly repeat everyone’s own views back to them, we’re a broad church!

Lee Branki

Hello David just recently joined again but long term listener, I think the cutting up of the interview the 3 press guys who covered the trip to Holland made them sound a lot worse than when you actually watch the YouTube footage of the interview. I do actually like Andy Newport and Chris Jack but the way it was put out didn’t half whip the fans into a even bigger frenzy than we needed to be.

Hi Lee, I agree. I just dislike this practice of chopping stuff up and parceling it out days later. It’s also the kind of thing that makes managers and players say nothing interesting for fear of it being taken the wrong way.

Elaine Campbell

My favourite! Billy Joel. Magic 💙💙

Bobby

If Raskin is out we need that midfielder but we need another central defender , Goldson is finished and David was right , he looks like he knows he off too. This area needs to be replaced with quality. I’ve not seen a defender linked for a while though

Lee Branki
>>143721202

Exactly that, I do think we will be able to shift the likes of Tavernier, Goldson, Lammers, Cantwell and Dessers but it could be closer to the deadline for it to happen. The problem being any spilled points before the derby or a bad night in Europe and fans will rightfully hit the roof.

Brian Rae

I totally agree about the press being allowed to dictate when the fanbase hear news on our club. When it comes to the important stuff, the club should be communicating directly with the fanbase because we owe that shower of shite (Scottish media) nothing.

Adam

It's likely his third, possibly even his 4th language, dependent on the part of Belgium he comes from. Anyone who has ever met a person from the Benelux region, knows they're pretty direct and at times blunt. I think that's what stunned so many of us on Saturday night and Sunday morning, no bullshit, no trying to paint a prettier picture. Just straight up brutal honesty.
