Union Berlin 4-4 Rangers Postmatch Reaction 27 Jul 2024

Well that was wild! Rangers finish preseason with a good attacking display marred by a bad defensive one.

Jefte & Tav as a full back pairing is the stuff of nightmares.

Craig Murray

No wonder I’ve no hair, this could be another crazy season. We were delicious going forward today but woeful at the back.

Tamus

Tav and Butland WTAF Man!!!!!!

John Smith

If it helps, Hearts were also rotten today. Pumped by Charlie Adam’s Fleetwood

chris smith

A 5 and a 6 please. Pronto.

Jim McCutcheon

Slightly more optimistic but the defencive side is really dire we need to sort it out very rapidly, thanks again David in it all together hopefully good signings imminent 🤞

Billy Forrester

Some amazing attacking play and we looked great at times going forward but defensively is a huge worry. We are awful. Here’s one to debate, I would take Scott McKenna on a free, big hard solid CH who knows the SPL and would give us some dig, no transfer fee and I would imagine wouldn’t take Goldson type wages to get him. What’s your thoughts ?

Latimer

I wouldn't be selling Scott Wright for £175k.

Ffs, he ain’t getting that at Copenhagen. He may need to lower his expectations. Even at that on a free would he be worth a punt on a 2 yr contract, still less than Goldson wages apparently

Allan

Lawrence took both goals really well and played well today. But, I would like to see young Baron partner with a really experienced midfielder and push Diomande forward into the Lawrence role. But Dio is a good tackler so that's probably why he's playing where he is. Defensively we are honking. Need a leader in that back four and big Leon can't play every week.

KennyY

Neither of our keepers have had the best pre season

Graeme McGregor

Better today but still worrying that our defence is so poor. Hopefully an experienced no nonsense defender is signed in the next week or so alongside Dessers replacement

Rona Bluebell

A week is a long time in football and I’m hoping this week is the longest yet

Baz

Both full backs were awful defensively today, it’s a major concern if they both start against Hearts. On a positive note our forward transition play at times was excellent. Wasn’t Butlands best display today but I’m not going to hit the panic button on that one,

Scott Corral

Very good analysis on the game David. For how good Dio and Connor were the fullbacks were so easy got at.

Scott Affleck

For as long as I hear Dessers name on the team sheet I won't settle
