5 players left out of contract at end of last season 2 loans ended Injuries already to Cortes and Raskin Danilo not back yet The manager does not have a magic wand

John leitch

Our wage bill has been far too high for ages We couldnt continue in unsustainable waters

John leitch

Our transfer business is predicated on our outgoings

Bradley johnson

Itten would look a million dollars in this team which says it all

David MacT

I struggle with this pod. I can't stand sites like FF and that Kev guy is like a talking FF thread

Angus Mackay

I can understand people calling out Jefte being left on if he was flying into tackles, but the boy did literally nothing wrong in terms of foul play. Given how few options we have, the manager had little choice. Also, as Stevie rightly points out, Sterling isn’t technically good enough to play in the middle in European games. He’s not even close. The glazing of that boy by our support is becoming increasingly bizarre. Great assessment of the game, Stevie, agreed with pretty much every word of that.

Simon H&H

Bit unfair labelling him a talking FF thread if you hate sites like that yet visit them 😂

Granters

I have the same fear about Tav at Parkhead. A disaster waiting to happen. They were targeting him as a weakness last season and he’s lost another yard since then. The Danilo thing makes absolutely no sense. Is this another Michael Ball scenario where another payment is due to be triggered?

David MacT

That's true but it's just a rehash of absolutey everyhting we see online all day at the moment. I'm sick of the constant greetin 24/7. I did leave with 58 minutes left on it so maybe got a bit better.

chris smith

Finally, somebody on the network says it like it is … as close to corrupt as you can get. Indeed it was.

Kev Armstrong

Warning on the pod description, on the intro and timestamps are your friend. Love that Kev guy 😁

Iain Campbell

There is no point in hiding from the reality of the current situation we find ourselves in. Better to face up to it

David MacT

True, but our fans have lost their minds this summer. H&H is usually an escape from the utter insanity that is the echo chamber of idiots that is the Rangers online fanbase. When the pods start sounding similar to reading that nonsense I can't listen to it.

Simon H&H

Then it wouldn’t be a true relflection of the podders views. The squads a shambles.

David MacT

Haha I have the word 'Shambles' muted on twitter. It seems the only word the online weirdos know. Ridiculously overused.

JimGLW

Great listen fellas. I'd be shocked if it was a positive one considering the situation! Bad decisions for years now staring us in the face. No string of excuses would change that. How anyone could not see that we need major surgery is a mystery. We're a shambles off the pitch and the squad we have is generally overpaid rubbish sadly.

JimGLW

I tend not to listen to pods that I "struggle" with. You could try that perhaps.

David MacT

Ahhhh I meant that particular pod. Maybe I just miss Alex, he's a calm head in the current typhoon of OTT drama that is the Rangers support 😁

Hendi

You're ranting about how inept the squad is, so why would you expect The manager to achieve results with it? He's unable to strengthen the squad because we've spunked all our cash for years on players with no resale value. But you're now moaning that we are attempting to remedy that buying Igmane?

Neil Shepherd

Feel the exact same way as the boys do. Totally fed up and going to be a long road back if we can’t get rid of players and improve squad…..but I will be there on sat!

Rhys Aird

“That’s something for the marketing team to work on” 😂😂

William Noble

The way things are going we might get gubbbed the morra

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks guys I agree with your assessment on our present ongoing issues can't see it improving in the near future imo , enjoying your content wish we had more positive things to discuss but 🤷‍♂️

Graeme Guthrie

Our midfield is a huge problem. We've got a gap between def and mid meaning Barron is constantly dropping off to get the ball, then we've got a 10 who is immobile, can't trigger the press and doesn't support the other 2 midfielders. Swap the useless 10 for a 6, and we'll address multiple issues at once

David Innes

The reason we can’t shift players is because everyone knows how desperate we are - fully expect us to accept last minute low ball offers for Hagi and Cantwell then replace them with bang average EPL youngsters on loan

drgriffen

As always an enjoyable (cathartic) listen. Steven asked what other country doesn't allow away fans? They haven't been allowed (apart from a few exceptions) in Argentina since 2013.

Jason Allan

Clement needs to see that his 4231 does not suit the players he has. Barron and Diomande have to do so much work, when going to a flat 3 in midfield would give us more control and shape. Threat means Lawrence is dropped or ideally sold. On to the sell before we buy, surely last summer the board realised that Beale was spending large sums and wages on top for four attackers, why control what he was allowed to spend? Feel for Clement as he’s been left with a mess to sort and get the fans back onside.

David Ferguson

The chairman has told us not to expect anything this season so why are we surprised?

Craig Fryatt

Well done chaps, not an easy review / preview to do but a good no holds barred listen

Spoon

Have to say Stevie if we persist in playing Dessers in a role or in a way that doesn’t suit him then it’s no longer on him. I disagree that nothing sticks, he does indeed hold up and lay off fairly regularly the wider issue is why is he constantly isolated and left adrift? Why are we setting up for aimless punts up the park, the symptom gets all the focus generates the friction and the root cause is ignored. Add in that the guy seems to have to play 90 minutes three times a week while others are wrapped in cotton wool. If he breaks we are in a far far worse place. I’m sorry bud but even if I did accept that Dessers should do better and I accept that in your eyes he isn’t holding or linking, sub him and change it. If as you and others are adamant Dessers is gash, why is Clement still playing him, is he also gash following that logic ? He has other players who can go up front, he even decided Propper could have a shot at it. I agree with most of what you and Kev say around the team, the mood, the squad and the off field issues but the obsession with Dessers is like hoping if we make a scapegoat and kill it off all the rest of the teams sins are forgiven and we will be back in good grace. It’s like the Danillo assertion from quarters thst we just need him back and Dessers will be history. He might well work out but there’s more indicators he won’t be any better than we have (IF he can get fit and back firing) there’s not nearly the certainty for me that others have. As always enjoy the raw honest comment even where I don’t wholly agree. I would always choose realism than ignoring the issues so more power to you guys.

JimM

FFKS! So many substitute experts but you can’t see them warming up 🤷‍♂️

WILLIAM JACK

Hate to criticise but a worrying listen, mainly because of Kev's litany of half finished thoughts and criticisms particularly regarding the manager. Eg the manager should have been asking for a big striker to hold things up and link play. Maybe he has. Idah set that lot back £8.5mn, so just because the manager wants something doesn't mean we can get it for him. The fact that Igamane isn't in the first team is because, as explained by the manager, he hasn't played at our level of training etc. The fact that he isn't in the team after two months doesn't mean it will be 2-3 years before he is ready. The leap to catastrophise is understandable given the current situation but just not helpful. Moaning about Danillo's lack of minutes when he is coming back from a long term injury and as Kev said himself he looked off it in pre-season just seems pointless. And as for saying Beaton's performance in that Hibs game is the only time he has come close to thinking a refereeing performance verged on cheating. Seriously? Two words. Kevin Clancy. I know we are all hurting but the manager is a proven winner, needs time and is as good a level as we are going to get. Anyone fancy another pursuit of McInnes? Sorry to say but this was an annoying listen. I say that as a long term preview listener. The balancing Staff influence was sorely missing.

JimM

How can you say Danilo shout be on the first plane back to Holland? What a load of drivel.

JimM

Clearer and more accurate comments from Kev.

Christopher pollock

Kevin’s rant was spot on in how I feel, great show as always boys

Billy Brotherston

I don’t get this “we need to punt Butland as he’s our most sellable asset” We got him on a free, surely any premier league club who might pay us big money for him was aware of him last summer? Why would they pay a fee for him now?

Kev Armstrong

Was Igamane the only striker in world football we could have signed? If we signed a back up keeper for development I’d have no issues as we are strong in the dept. Therefore no rush to have an instant impact. You might back the manager and that’s cool but I’m seeing red flags that’s all.

Danny

Hold on a minute here. That rant about how “we started it” with away fans reductions is half the story and you know it. Their tickets got reduced because they couldn’t help themselves but to act like animals, or did you conveniently forget the Rangers fans being injured on numerous occasions in our stands. Their club wouldn’t do anything about it, the police wouldn’t do anything about it, so we resolved the matter in the only way that was left. But aye, big bad Rangers eh? As for the rest, I’m in agreement, we’re an absolute basket case. A shambles off the park. A board that his taken us back to when we just got promoted. Better get used to 2nd place and the odd cup win, because as far as I’m concerned, this board has shown absolutely nothing that gives me hope that they could turn it around. The only thing they’ve shown is that they’re able to go from one fuck up to the next in quick succession.

Derek Hamilton

First time I have said this on heart and hand but quite disappointed with this preview. It's all rant but not really looking at full facts and maybe the why. Just throw the players and manager under the bus

Billy Paterson

His rant was exactly that. A rant. Both were spouting obtuse nonsense to me. Stopped listening after 30 mins.

Billy Paterson

One of them said unhappy with starting line-up bit then said we only had 2 players on the bench that could be brought on to change things. Sterling and Cerny. Then went on a rant about Danilo? Absolute nonsense. Switched off after 30 mins.

Alan Riddell

Despite some comments to the contrary on here your first 45 minutes were spot on guys.

Derek MacMillan

The Jefte 2nd yellow. That's the type of jump that a 20 year old keen to impress makes. A street smart player isn't putting themselves in that position when he knows the opposition are at it. Let's see where we are in 2 weeks. Board haven't said how much this stadium delay has cost us.

David Tod

Realistic, not grumpy.

Steven Harrigan

Yes, Danilo was named on the bench for nothing more than show or he would have been put on with 5-10 to even, over placing a CB up front.

Steven Harrigan

No. It just should never be allowed to get to this stage, we've been petty in the past, Celtic are now, all the while it's the fans who suffer. The current situation is a joke and does not help the team when we go there. Leadership and a solution is long overdue but lacking in this issue for me.

Steven Harrigan

Why are Newcastle looking at paying 75 million for a guy who a few years ago was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea?

Steven Harrigan

It's definitely not on him, it's not his strengths, but when you go a man down its the basic of what you need for me. Our past squad building is the issue, until players move on were stuck. Appreciate the feedback. Have a great day.

Steven Harrigan

If we could get between 4-6 mil for him back, it's absolutely a deal I would do to fund others.

Kev Armstrong

I didn’t pretend it was anything else. I’ve been in a bad mood since Tuesday night.

Billy Paterson

That's your opinion. Imo, he was probably on the bench in the mere chance we were comfortable (2 or 3 up) with 15 mins to go, and then he'd have got some minutes.

JimM

You’re not getting that back without playing him. He needs to be playing either way whether you keep him or want to sell. Most people are asking the question why PC isn’t playing him, something I suspect will change today. Instead of putting the guy on a plane to Holland why not call the manager out on it 🤷‍♂️ Sometimes you talk sense but sometimes it’s pure drivel Steven.

Spoon

On that I totally agree bud just bristle at the constant he can’t do, he can do most things but as we are all desperate for a shining light or way out to me people sometimes don’t see or acknowledge the bits of play he does contribute to in a rush to say he should be better. That’s not aimed at you, just a general point. With 10 men against a marshalled defence most strikers will be out muscled when up alone. In recent games Dessers has played a number of excellent through balls and won a power of fouls holding defenders off, we obviously haven’t capitalised on them but I don’t think it’s fair to say he can’t do it. We absolutely need better up front, my concern is why can’t them manager see it or do something about it structurally or creatively with personnel. Just putting Dessers up for 90 min alone and watch him struggle and be slated isn’t particularly inspiring. As I say bud, agree with the comment and sentiment, my focus is now more on the managers use of what he has, the players are here, they don’t seem to be changing anytime soon and we can’t just say fatalistically that we aren’t very good so the effort to improve or maximise what we have is pointless. Let’s hope we both have a good day and St Johnstone get a scudding. All the best 👍🏻

James McSween

Guys another great pod and your thoughts are probably the same as the majority of Rangers fans. Nothing at present on and off the park is giving us anything to be positive about unfortunately. If we are wanting the game to be comfortable for Danilo to get minutes then I think it’ll be a while before we see him.

DITA

As soon as we got the “negativity” heads-up, I switched off the pod. Not for one second am saying things are great, but I’m not paying a monthly subscription to listen to rants.

QB_72

To be honest lads anyone who can't see that we are in a pickle again with finances and it will lead to us having another pretty poor season with players we can't shift, high wag wasters and injuries a plenty already diluting the squad must be deluded. We don't have the cash injection we needed from the UCL and fans are not happy with the way the club are dealing the problems they themselves have created, it just feels like it's gonna be another long headache and heartbreak of a season ahead sadly and I hope to fk we don't embarrass ourselves in the games we have lying ahead to cause a complete meltdown 😞.

Bob MacCallum

Stevie, brilliant comment re Danilo and Loch Ness monster!

Scott Watson

Last summer he hadn't played for ages and nobody knew what level he was still capable of. This summer he was on the fringes of the England squad after an excellent season

Gary Smith

Be interesting to see where we stand currently against FFP. Fans giving the club dogs abuse regarding lack of signings. It could be that we are unable to do so without sanctions from UEFA for breaching limits. Hence the one in one out mantra. Agree regarding team set up. The obvious substitution on Tuesday was Sterling for Lawrence to give us more legs and physicality against extra man. Really worried about Parkhead in a couple weeks if manager persists with Number 10 role. Pretty sure Gerrard won 8/13 against them when playing a flat midfield three.

CJT

Preview is my favourite show on the Network. Always informative, usually balanced. I like that the previous match review does not normally have the immediacy of the car pod etc. so can be a bit more considered. We’re all grumpy at the moment so ignored the warning and listened expecting the usual balance and consideration. Didn’t get it. Didn’t even get a previous match review really. More a rant about the current state of affairs. I appreciate Kev’s views are not unique and maybe even widely prevalent but if pods become a vehicle for an, even pre-advertised, individual rant then not sure Preview will be the must listen it is now. My choice. I get that. All about opinions and all that but that was as much fun as reading the alleged transfer thread, or any other on FF in recent weeks, where the alleged subject matter is widely ignored for general commentary on how horrible everything is. Here’s hoping for a good performance today and the start of a general upswing in results and feeling about the team. Opinions like the ones presented here suggest minds are already made up though and nothing really will change that. Not really sure why we all moan about the cycle we’ve undoubtedly been in when we create a lot of the energy that keeps it spinning. Anyway.

Martin Sutherland

Anyone looking for the lads to be positive are absolutely deluded. There is nothing to be positive about. From the board to the manager and players we are a shit show. Even if the board get their finger out with transfers the manager’s bizarre selections and tactics will let is down.

WILLIAM JACK

Erm...no Igamane isn't the only striker in world football we could have signed. What was the point of that question? Your response also doesn't address my point about you taking the fact that he wasn't yet in the first team and extrapolating that to 2-3 years without mentioning any of the manager's comments on his training regime. This is the kind of lash-out-don't-listen content I can find anywhere online. The Preview is better than that. I'm not looking for an argument with a podder but your commentary on the current state of the club was imho lacking nuance, context and, in many instances, stated facts that are publicly available. I don't think the garden is rosy at present, far from it, but context, facts and nuance do matter.
