Alan Shaw

I take it your wheeling poor martyn out tonight

Stewart Robertson

Took the words out of my mouth David. I watched it back this morning, and it was EVEN WORSE than I remembered. Gutless. Toothless. Was like watching a Warburton side go to the Piggery.

Alan Weir

Things were bad yesterday, but Clement's assessment of the stats is illogical, worrying nonsense and ignores the fact we were played off the park. They are stronger, faster and more skilful; they can also handle the demands of an Old Firm game in a way that our players cannot.

Stewart Thomson

Positives? We don't have to play them for another 4 months. That's the stage i'm at. Soul destroying. There's no longer any buzz going into these fixtures, just dread.

Alexander Brown

I'm still in shock we were so so poor don't know where we go from here so disillusioned

Tom McDavid

Listening poolside in Zante with Mythos has taken the edge off it 🙄☀️🍺

Alan Weir

I know we're "not that sort of club", but would it not be sensible, and possibly productive, to write-off this season and have some kind of strategy so that the team and squad is prepared for 2025, 2026 and beyond. There needs to be a plan beyond "we need a left winger", "we need a new centre half" i.e. filling gaps season by season, usually with mediocre players who, ultimately, will not take us forward. I don't think for a minute fans would accept this - " cos we're Rangers" - but I honestly can't see any other way we can get from a distant second to regaining the league.

Ritchie Lamond

Well done having to read that utter drivel out. One step away from claiming we were the better team because we had more throw ins. We’re not idiots: stop treating us like we are.

James Cameron

A combination of mismanagement by the board for numerous years. Tactically awful again by the manager starting to lose patience with him 9 wins in his last 22 games not good enough any other manager he would of been gone. I still dont know wht he is doing tactically. The players attiutude and application is not good enough. In my all life supporting Rangers I have never seen a Rangers team devoid of attitude, application and leadership.

keith wright

David you said when they know there not playing well they need to double there efforts. Do they know there not playing well?

KennyY

Thanks David. Genuinely don’t know how you did that today. A true pro. Onwards and upwards

David Campbell

First of all I want to thank the podders for yesterday's shows. How you guys are able to form sensible opinions straight after watching that nonsense. I was on the brink of setting fire to everything. The manager is toast it's just a matter of when and not if. However he isn't the only problem the club is a mess. Everyone needs to take a look at themselves.

Fraser86

Going to be a long season, the summer feeling is now turning to reality, I cam see this continuing as we fight for second place, Europe is going to be a disaster, hope I'm wrong but I haven't been wide of the mark since Gerrard left

Graham Roy

You need to get Big Scott to come on for Gigi coming to town!

Alan Weir

Absolutely - anyone not putting a shift in every minute of every game should be shown the door. Harsh, perhaps, but those two are non-negotiables for any professional in any job.

Derek Robertson

Too many fans think they can say what they want to players , hopefully the guy that was shouting abuse gets what he deserved.

Vanb bryceter

Thankyou David articulated my thoughts and feelings exactly. Personal abuse is unacceptable folk need to reign themselves in here. We are back at square 1 and no quick fix is readily available. I agree clement needs to get this team on a long winning run. My concern is i dont see any leaders in the team we look lightweight in every department. Its going to be a rollercoaster this year

CRAIG CASSELLS

Very worryingly our manager seems to think it wasn't so bad, at one point he actually mentions the game could have ended 3-3. When a manager is so distant from reality, when the excuses just annoy the fanbase even more, you have the feeling things can only end one way no matter what the Board say, if the support want Clement gone he will be gone. Not suggesting we are near that just now but Clement has to give the fans hope that better times are around the corner and unfortunately yesterday just left me scratching my head, thinking Clement hasn't a clue on jow to combat our rivals. I'm 62 and Rangers are so much in the shadow of Celtic with no credible plan on how to emerge into the sunlight that I genuinely wonder if I will see Rangers win another league title in my lifetime.

James McSween

Don’t have a problem with fans shouting at players and manager after OF defeat. They should be expecting it and if the get upset over hurty words then they are losers. Clubs security needs their arse kicked for letting players and manager getting in that position especially with angry fans outside.

Alan Cowan

Clement said that any player over 30 years are not going to improve and need to be moved on. Tavernier is over that age, isn't going to improve and as you said David, he should be moved on. He's obviously hanging around for a testimonial. But he's now the focus of attention for his lack of confidence, lack of skill required to be a captain of our club. My goodness, when you think of the previous custodians of that particular honour and compare, dear oh dear, just ain't got it and never had it anyway.

Scott Binnie

Cheers as ever, David. Bold of you to watch that crap again haha. So sick of conceding the same goals from the same mistakes and deficiencies. We can all see it, why don't the management.

James McSween

The guy shouting at Tav calling him a loser and to F Off is probably what most fans think nowadays. Don’t think the guy said anything out of turn.

Scott Corral

Having heard the words from the manager and the keeper by f’k there’s some major turd polishing getting spouted. Fans aren’t buying that nonsense

Alan Weir

Fans paying for a ticket for a match (or a season) allows them to go along and pretty much do what the hell they like for 90 minutes. It doesn't allow them carte blanche to abuse players or staff whenever and wherever they feel like it.

Derek Robertson

The guy knows fine well Tav can't react , shouting abuse at him while walking back the way. You think that acceptable to scream abuse at someone in the street. Tell you something he wouldn't have done that if it was just him and Tav.

Martin Sutherland

Jack Butland is another player with no track record of success with too much sway in our dressing room.

Phil Morrison

Clement is putting a lot of store in the team being very different in Oct/Nov - he must be confident of his coaching abilities

Andy

Not sure if Clement is just attempting to keep a professional front in post match interview or he genuinely believes anything about yesterday was acceptable. No fight, no desire, no quality. Celtic walk through us time and time again and he makes no changes to counter any of it. This is a celtic side yet to bleed in their 11m, 9m and 6m signings. Big fears for the rest of the season now. Butland - concerning he might not be able to handle the pressure. That's 3 questionable mistakes in the last two old firm games.

Stewart Robertson

Clement needs to start by not pishing down our leg and telling us it's raining. Remember the Dundee game ? He watches the games through beer googles.

Heart and Hand

Also what’s the point? Is it suddenly going to make them better? Of course not. It’s just ‘I’m angry and I’m going to take it out on you’. I get it on social media after a loss. It’s the equivalent of a wank, done entirely by the person for their own benefit.

Martin Mcinnes

Summer I wanted everybody gone, scorched earth style, realised not possible, was mostly happy with departures although Tav should have gone. Had mentally prepared to more or less write off the league, as think Clement can do a rebuild, but he's sounding more and more like Beale and if that continues he won't last the season. Oh if only you knew you were living in the good old days, when you were actually living in them

James McSween

You got to blame our club security for putting players in that position. Tav reacting makes it worse. Keep his head down and get to his car. OF players undoubtedly get abuse every day when they’re out and about. Not saying it’s right but they’ve got to have expected that yesterday.

Jordan McKay

I’m not buying Butland’s comments re. the second goal. There were 5 seconds between Celtic winning the ball back and Kyogo’s shot. Not to mention Butland had a standing start.

William George Bell

Manager has form for putting a gloss on very poor performances. He did the same when we effectively threw the league away last season at home against Motherwell and the much postponed Dundee game. He believes what he is saying.

Jimmy Price

How can our manager think that wasn’t fkn awful!? Just how!? That’s very very concerning.

James McSween

It’s not right but it’s always going to happen. It’s probably not even the 1st time it’s happened at Ibrox after a defeat at the piggery. Security should have had players cars inside Ibrox or part of ED blocked off

Doogz

Worried listening to Clement comments, he cannot believe anyone who watched that game will swallow his nonsense around stats. He might have picked the team most supporters wanted beforehand, but they never performed as if they had worked or been drilled in shape etc in week leading up to it. 2nd best all over the park were beaten before the walked onto the pitch.

Stephen Grant

I’m not sure the scenes at Ibrox help anything but the realisation of some players positions at least in no doubt with them

james whyte

Watching that back cannot have been in any way enjoyable. Hats off to you Davie! My Mrs said to me yesterday at full time "You don't seem as upset as you usually are". And she was correct. I knew what was going to happen, it happened and that was that. We are in a sorry state.

Stephen

Totally disagree. Disgraceful way to treat anyone. Where is the line? If we lose 10-0 is it ok to assault players? Good knows how these people behave when something actually serious happens in their lives. No way a football player takes on board ‘constructive criticism’ from some jakey in the street shouting at them.

Graeme McLeod

I don't think it's as straightforward as fans not accepting it might take a few years to win the league. It's that you can't just tell us we need to accept that while there's no discernible playing style and nothing to suggest the manager is improving the players available to him. I think most fans accepted we wouldn't challenge this year and that we can't keep sacking managers, but the board still need to appoint the right people - CEO, chairman, director of football, recruitment chief, manager etc - and doubling down on a bad appointment is just as bad as continously sacking managers. This management team and players can't be given a mulligan this season. They have to show they're capable of beating Celtic - at the very least - or they have to go. As the next guy after Clement is going to want three years to challenge too.

Kona

Well said David - no one should be speaking to the players in that manner outside Ibrox

Rona Bluebell

Clement hasn’t just become a bad manager. It’s a new squad with much change. They need time. This knee jerk panic isn’t helpful. Transition times are painful, we’re in transition. We can’t say we want long term change but also must beat a well oiled Celtic team at the same time at our first meeting. Be careful what you wish for. Need more steel and less panic.

Andrew Hind

My aunt once told me rangers might be down at the moment but they always come back, I always remember this after bad defeat

James McSween

1 guy shouts Tav your a loser and F off that’s not Players are lucky we have a vast majority of sensible fans. For Tavs sake I hope he dissent go to Turkey if he’s upset at yesterday.

Doogz

As for the so called supporter abusing Tav what an embarrassment, hope when he sobered up today he was proud of his actions. Rangers really need to look into security issues, maybe employ professional company instead of expecting a guy with a hi viz jacket on minimal wage to deal with issues.

Graeme McLeod

Butland is levelling out to what he was when we signed him - a keeper who couldn't get near a so-so Crystal Palace team. He was a decent keeper years ago before injuries, and was in the form of his life through the first half of last season. We aren't going to see that on a regular basis again.

william wilson

It’s a difficult one for me. I don’t like the idea of abusing the players. But ultimately it worked for Celtic after the 9 in a row season. It’s not nice but the team are a direct link to the board. Especially the captain and the manager. Like it or not they will be discussing this internally and it’s all thanks to the folks who went along to show their anger. If you’ve not got the stomach for it I’m not sure it makes it wrong. It’s not nice but it’s not wrong.

Iain Graham

We'll probably play them at Hampden in the League Cup before the end of the year. Sigh.

Damien Stubbs

The “we had x many shots and x amount of possession” pis*ed me of more yesterday. The only reason it was close is because they were 2/3 up and started coasting. Not because we were good.

Mark Harvey

Clement has reached the turd polishing stage during post match press conferences. That's a real concern. Beale was doing the same this time last year.

Jim Milne

"Tav reacting makes it worse" He's on a hiding to nothing. If he says nothing the response will be he has no passion or fight. If I left my workplace with 15 others who put in a terrible shift like me and I was singled out I'd react too. The guy was a disgrace. We can debate whether Tav should play or not, but it's the manager picks him. No Rangers captain whoever it is should be treated like that. The fan could easily have said stuff like more passion etc, not singled Tab out and been respectful. I bet he knew the camera was going, probably 10 beer deep and thinks he's a hero when IMO he's a tit.

KMS

Clement is fast becoming the ifs and buts excuse merchant, ifs and buts don't win leagues, ifs and buts don't produce winners, all ifs and buts produce are what could have beens, also rans, losers and clubs that accept failure and mediocrity, is this what Rangers have become? Are we accepting failure now, but the manager is happy we are competing in 'stats'....but failing fucking miserably in the stats that actually matter .. goals, wins and trophies!

James McSween

The fans aren’t to blame for their reactions Team and manager are to blame for inept performance and also security for not handling the situation correctly.

James Anderson

In fairness to Butland, the defense infront of him is currently terrible, which makes his job harder.

Craig

I'm not calling for him to be sacked, because what would be the point, but the manager is starting to give me the fear. Not addressing failings in the way the current squad handle the tactical setup, and repeatedly doing these turd-polishing post match interviews when he must know the reaction to them doesn't make him seem very agile or adaptable.

Andrew Stewart

Tavernier's body language, in the second half especially, was shocking. Few times he looked up to the sky in frustration and jogged back into a nothing position. One time he bumped into Barron and sat in the ground. Defeated. Very poor showing from a senior player. Hes finished.

James Anderson

It is totally unacceptable to abuse the management and players off the field. We are not like the other side of the city and hopefully will never be. No barriers round the stadium for us please

james whyte

Tough going right now. I don't feel anger. It's a realisation that we are way off that lot and it is what it is. Depressing really.

Graeme

David is there any chance of a pod covering ffp , maybe get an expert (not an east end one) to explain the ins and outs and we'd all be a bit more understanding of our current situation

Jim Milne

This might not be a popular opinion but fan behaviour towards players at this point needs to be respectful and nowhere near what it was yesterday. Remember during 55, sharkgate, etc. their team fell apart and you could see the fan hysteria was affecting performances. Everytime we hammer the players like some did yesterday we are just eroding confidence. Some might call me a happy clapper but as fans we can show our discontent in other ways, respectfully. I looked on those videos with astonishment yesterday. What kind of parents take their kids in a pram to harass players? I'm of the opinion Tav needs taken out of the firing line, but abuse like yesterday is wrong. If you're angry don't buy Europa tickets, merchandise, plan a protest to leave early or arrive late, etc but I've never bought into the mantra that's it's okay to verbally abuse your own players because you buy a season ticket. It's classless.

David cation

Think rangers are keeping a low profile today. It’s almost 4 pm and I’ve not received an email from them or castore trying to sell me some tat. Maybe they are learning…..

KMS

Incidents of abuse towards players and the manager like we witnessed yesterday will only lead to distance being put between themselves and the support, they will limit or withdraw access, and that benefits nobody, it also punishes our young fans who love meeting the players etc.

Rose Mcloughlin

First of all sorry Guys I did listen to the match report and the car pod but didnt click the like button or commented..but it took a lot of guts to do both as you would probably felt like us to just cancel the day..so thanks...agree with you regarding abusing the Manager and the players outside Ibrox we are all down but the rest of the season is ahead of us..not much hope ig we have a disheartened team ....so we carry on...thanks for the pod David.

Declan MacDonald

Don’t agree with your comments on the guy calling out Tav yesterday. We’ve put up with mediocre performances from that “captain” in big games for too long now. We’ve tried the old “we’re better than them” line for years now. They rioted for 2 months during the 55 season and look at them now. We’ve adopted the “can’t step over the line” position for too long now. We need change. Tav to blame for first goal AGAIN yesterday. 53rd minute, Hatate has the ball 5-10 yards away from him, he bends down to pick up his socks whilst Maeda runs off him and gets in behind. The time of “we don’t behave like them” is over. We need change and this is the only way. Sitting on our hands, bumping gums on social media or asking “how is this going to get better” for Tav to reply “work harder in training” is over. We’ve had enough

Ronnie Gallacher

As a support, like it or not, we are a team in transition, we will be better however until then, strap yourselves in, batten down the hatches and slip those big boy pants on, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!! Let’s support the manager and the team, and stop all the negativity. Finally, what do we expect the manager to say in his press conference, the team is shit, the leadership is shit, they are much better than us (which they are)? Let’s not take too much heed or read too much in to what is said in these, he needs to protect the players. As for the fan who abused our Captain, wholly unacceptable irrespective of any frustrations as to how the team is playing!

Billy McCormack

Motondo felt something in his hamstring, OF COURSE HE DOES!, Fed up with the same excuses all the time from managers and players, same shit different day, seen this script so many times.

Billy McCormack

Plus obviously I don't agree how Tav got treated but you're right David, Tav should've left.

William Mcdonald

I don't think anyone would cover his wages if he was able to muster a move at short notice

Stuart McWilliams

I'm trying to give Clement the benefit of the doubt, but it's getting harder. In his defence, there's a limit to what he can do with this squad - if he drops Tav we lose Sterling in midfield and have to play Dowell or Lawrence since Raskin isn't fully fit. We just have too many holes in the squad and we don't even have enough talent to set up for a Walter style smash and grab. I think he (and Koppen) were promised a bigger budget for this window and only found out the truth after we'd already brought in the younger players.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

He doesn’t even speak like a winner or a Rangers manager He lives in a world of red zones , overloads and stats Team reflects any manager and we are just like him a big nice guy Rabbi Motondo the perfect example a fucking coward

Ian

Feel so low today and more worrying is that I am getting better at managing it as it happens so often. Thought as I got older these games may mean less to me. Its the complete opposite, they mean so much more.

Ian

I only wish some of the team felt the same way, which I don't think they do?? However abusing the players at our stadium is disgraceful and I cannot support it at all. How many times do you think that will be circulated by "that lot". Don't hand them oxygen? As Marvin says, we need to keep the faith, otherwise, what's the alternative???

David Innes

Many of us have been saying all summer it’s going to be a transition season but that doesn’t make the reality any less painful to confront when results like yesterday happen. I’m still behind the manager but my confidence in him is waning and his post match comments were extremely concerning

Andrew Ross

Scotland is a toilet. Players with any quality come here for the money. If you’ve no money, no quality. Simple as that.

Ronnie Gallacher

Rubbish, that fan is entirely to blame for his behaviour. Irrespective of how the team performed, or how frustrated that might make you, you don’t go around verbally abusing another person!!

Russ

I sound like an apologist here but I promise you Clement didn't want the team to stop committing to the press after the first 10 mins. The plan was fine, the team just flat out panicked after the first goal went in and didn't come out of their shell for another 40 minutes. The biggest issues with this team still are psychological. Yesterday was reminiscent of a Leeds Utd hammering under Bielsa.

David Innes

The idea that Celtic fans verbally abusing their players and board had any impact on the turnaround in their fortunes just isn’t rooted in reality. They are where they are now because they have more money than us, a better recruitment set up and a well established player trading model built up over many years- they signed Matt O’ Reilly for less than half of what we paid for Matondo - FFS. Closing the gap and overtaking them again isn’t impossible but there are no quick fixes available sadly.

Colin McL.

Clement used to be measured in his comments - I guess it’s easier to do when winning. Since March, he’s become erratic, prone to talking nonsense and some of the post-match analysis is simply insulting.

Ross Thomson

Some of the players chucked it yesterday and I just find that totally unacceptable. New season, same old nonsense.

Derek Robertson

The fans aren't to blame for their own reaction? Seriously , you actually believe that an adult is not responsible for how they react to a situation?

Steve Stewart

Is the new CEO definitely going to be Gillespie?

Seumais Simpson

Not to blame for actively travelling to the stadium hours after the game to hurl abuse, that is a pretty wild take. Like any normal person, the guy should have just sulked about and not talk to the wife and kids for a few hours/days depending on head space.

David Scott

We are stuck in a cycle of mediocrity, cant keep sacking managers but also cant keep losing big games, have committed future funds to players who have proved nothing yet brought in players who are other clubs assets so we have no major resale potential at the club so money will remain tight, the only way out of this is at boardroom level when the fans have had enough of being 2nd place and vote with their feet and their wallets and purses.

John Breen

Any manager that plays Tav at RB is not good enough. He’s not any closer to Celtic that the buffoon that is Beale

Bill Jones

I took some abuse for suggesting that Tav should be dropped on FF.

Allan

The league is done by the end of August. The only way it is not is if that scum mob take their eye off the ball like last season. We are miles off them.

Graeme McLeod

Exactly. Our biggest issue is that we're poorly run. With the money we've spent in recent years, we should be more competitive. But the money hasn't been spent well as the infrastructure at the club just isn't there. Rangers need a David Holmes figure to actually put the infrastructure in place. Until you have that, nothing will change.

C. J

I don’t intend on watching much of us until Tavernier is gone. I’m sick to death of the sight of him & he ruins my experiences of every game. Absolute passenger. Losing the ball 22 times as a captain in a derby is astonishing.

Heart and Hand

It’s not so much behaving like them as behaving like a decent person. You don’t abuse strangers in the street, end of. Guys doing that will then talk about ‘standards’ when they’re failing to hold any themselves. Go protest the board, but getting in someone’s face and screaming insults at him - nope. I have personal standards of behaviour to me, that matter to me as a person, and that is way below it. So no.

Heart and Hand

It didn’t. This is a myth. What happened was their players morale utterly collapsed, they shat the bed and then they spent money in the summer. Money they had and would have spent regardless. We don’t.

Declan MacDonald

But what change will we get then? We’ve had fan media like you and 4 lads ask Tav directly about how we’ll change and improve and he always says the same thing “we’ll work harder in training.” That team must be the hardest working team in training ever, then. Cause he’s had to say it plenty of times. As you said in the pod - he should’ve took the time to go. You’ll know if the rumours were true, but the rumours of Saudi interest in the summer seemed to have a lot of weight behind them. He should’ve took that and left. Fans are sick of his dire performances when the going gets tough.

JimGLW

Ive got to the point that I'm sick of hearing from Clement

Ryan Stewart

Other than under the spivs I’m not sure I’ve ever felt as disillusioned with where we are going as a club. We are so far behind them in every aspect it’s frightening. 3 years, 3 managers and 3 rebuilds later and we are arguably in a worse position on the pitch and financially, and theres now a growing part of the fan base who want to chase another manager away Clement has his faults and there’s is legitimate criticisms that can be made but we’ve sent him to a gun fight with a water pistol. Personally I’ve very little to no interest in any talk of another manager. Until we become a serious football club with a proper football structure in place we are just throwing shit against the wall and hoping for a miracle, we will not have any sustained success until that’s put in place regardless of how many times we change manager

Graham Jones

The stuff at Ibrox was unacceptable, and I hope for their sake they aren’t on the CCTV cameras doing it because it was out of order. We have to remember who will be enjoying how we react most, that that’s Celtic. Clement probably didn’t;let put across his point about the game elegantly, but he has to manage the situation, so when people talk about him not seeing the same game as us, the truth is he did, but he is the Rangers manager and has to manage the situation. He needs to manage confidence, so he looks for the positives and acknowledges the result and performance. This is what he’s paid to do, and that includes when we put on a shit show like yesterday. So, when we start throwing tantrums remember who are the winners from doing that, because it ain’t us. Another thing, we can’t afford to fire another manager.

Iain Dunleavy

Interesting comments from Callun Mcgregor yesterday on the signing of Luke McGowan and the importance of have Scottish players at the club that understand the club. When is our fans and board going to realise that a core of good Scottish players is a necessity to any successful team in Scotland. Too many Rangers fans rubbish this as not being important and it looks like the recruitment department are the same. Look at the last successful Rangers team and how many Scottish players are in there. Instead we sign players for millions from abroad or championship of England and time and time again it doesn't work out. Lewis Ferguson would have walked to Rangers and is one of the best players in Serie A Instead we sign Diomande for 4.5 million 🤯

william wilson

You think if the Celtic fans had acted the same we have in the last 3/4 years after losing the league consecutively that their board would just spent money? No they spent as they did because of the pressure their fans put them under regularly.

Bixby Snyder

Guys, we can’t sack the manager without changing the board first. We cannot let them have a fourth go at it. Fool me once etc…

Heart and Hand

You can stop going, protest at games, withhold money etc. What you cannot do is abuse people in the street. It's not acceptable. I'm sorry mate, but we're never going to agree here. I would not accept that happening to me, my family or friends and I won't change my own beliefs just because a football player is not very good.

Heart and Hand

Yes William, I think the team who had won 9 titles in a row would have spent money to win it back after losing it regardless, much as we did in 98. Ask any Celtic fan how much their board listen to them.

Stephen

Thats ridiculous. If the guy doesn’t do it there is no incident to talk about. Entirely his fault. If the club was to handle it correctly he would be getting a stadium ban as no employer should be allowing their staff to get verbally abused while they are at work. Also, you must realise the other lot will be laughing at this on social media. Makes us all look like idiots.

Scott Christian

We just keep seeing the same things happen over and over again. Now, compare and contrast with the women’s side where it seems they’ve learned from that bitter experience of last year and are smashing every side and going and going and going right until the end of every match. Absolutely zero sign of any of the men’s team squad taking the pain of the last few years and turning it into motivation to not feel it again

JimGLW

Spot on David, really pathetic to see the abuse Tav got.

Roderick Boyle

David , the lack of leadership on the park is far too apparent . I noticed Barry Ferguson as the TV cameras panned on him yesterday , he was rightly fuming , oh how we could do with a player of Barry’s ability in his prime and his drive and fight as a Rangers captain

David Rorrison

Anybody who thinks Clement is going to come out and slaughter the players is delusional. The players deserve criticism for that “performance” yesterday. We can set up and have tactics and all of that, but it’s all pointless if the players chuck it. Which they clearly did yesterday

Robbie McCarroll

I’m concerned Clement has lost the dressing room. I can’t think of any other reason why players are not tracking back, literally walking out of possession surly that’s not a tactical decision. That attitude is far worse for me than Hagi or Cantwell, they would have burst their guts chasing back both where hard runners and Hagi shows dig! Clement needs to hammer some of those on players for there attitude!

Billy Forrester

Fans are entirely to blame for their reactions, they know right from wrong and if they haven’t the personal discipline to not abuse our players and staff outside the ground they shouldn’t be near Ibrox. It’s disgraceful and u defending it and arguing with people who condone it is also disgraceful

Alan Weir

If the solution to our recruitment failings, tactical failings and simple lack of player quality is to shout "f*ck off" to the club captain in the street, then we might as well pack up now. Some people need to grow up, act like adults and realise solutions are going to be difficult, time consuming and requiring some brain power.

David Rome

Well done Davie for saying it is unacceptable! There are some “fans” that thrive off our failures because it allows them to act like utter arseholes. Dragging kids down to ibrox to shout all sorts of abuse at players is embarrassing. Probably pre planned before a ball is kicked.

Calum Robertson

Going to the piggery now makes me think we are exactly what we think and expect off Aberdeen whenever they play against celtic, we know what the result and performance will be like before it starts. Depressing stuff fair play to you David for watching that sh*tshow again

Declan MacDonald

Without getting in to an argument about this, you can be angry at the board over recruitment, spending on vanity projects like NEH and overall running of the club whilst also being angry at the captain of the club who has consistently “lost” his man at the back post, bottling it in big games, bottling it when silverware is there to be won (more often than not) and doesn’t ever seem to learn from his mistakes. We’ve heard “obviously disappointed” and “work harder in training” too many times now. And that’s been when we’ve showed restraint and not acted like that fan did yesterday. It’s never improved. It’s time to let these consistent failures know that we don’t accept this. As David said above, we’ll have to disagree on how we react to this. I am on the side of - enough is enough. Fans shouldn’t have to listen to the same old cliche remarks from that soulless captain, any longer.

I think a more concise response from Clement was possible. His decision to do a breakdown of the match stats was embarrassing and, more importantly, completely unnecessary. "Pleased with our opening 10 minutes; less pleased with our response to pressure and the Celtic goals; some positives from a couple of the younger players in the second half." That would do, rather than 'shots on target' figures in a game we were totally outplayed. And I don't want Clement going anywhere.

Colin Gardner

I actually cringe at some of our fans. We laugh at that other lot and we are no better.

Alastair McGeoch

Call my cynical, but I wonder if he started feeling the pull after he had not tracked Johnstone and stopped/gave up letting Johnstone put the cross in for the first goal. He’ll be out for 6-8 weeks, come back shit out of form, play his way into form in time for the next big game when he’ll get injured again. He needs punted.

James McSween

Also calling me one of them is worse than Tav getting called a loser. I hope your proud of yourself 🤣

Jim Milne

How can security be to blame? It's 2 hours after the game that was played on the other side of the city. We shouldn't require security if people were decent human beings. I seen mums that brought babies in prams to abuse the players. Some people need to get a grip on reality. If I went to their house and stood outside hurling abuse they'd come out to fight or call the cops. The guy is a tit and deserves a stadium ban.

Alastair McGeoch

Clement tests my faith when he says the mood/mentality in the squad before the game was good and that he isn’t concerned about the mentality because they kept going in the game but ignores the complete collapse in mentality of the squad after 12 minutes. He needed to come out after the game and say it was unacceptable for a Rangers team to play like that against our major rival for trophies and he will make sure players understand the standards needed to be successful at this club.

Alastair McGeoch

The manager doesn’t need to come out and say the team were shit but he can come out and say that performance did not meet the standards of a Rangers performance in these games nor the standards he expect to see from his players.

Andrew McManus

Fair play to you David for narrating Clements post-match guff. Seriously, I appreciate that he can’t ’pull the pin’ and I also accept my tolerance for him and the other patter merchant is low but it’s just drivel and puff sound bites. Just needing ‘We’ll learn and go again’ and we’ll complete the return to Warburton! Thanks for the update, not easy under the circumstances.

Colin Mathie

Banging on about the fact we won 6-0 last week as if it somehow matters, the guy has lost the plot.

Gordon Millar

Totally agree Rona, we as a support wanted a radical change in the squad, it's not perfect but the Manager and the Head of Recruitment have begun this process, the start to the season was always going to be tricky in terms of the team gelling in time for key games. I'm as frustrated as anyone but if we can learn anything from that lot it is that stability and a developed playing style (accept this is not evident yet) will bring rewards in time. We must show patience or we welcome chaos in the door again!

Gordon Millar

I accept that the manager is not helping himself in post match interviews, but this growing narrative that he needs to go is not going to help anyone apart from our rivals/opponents the board have backed him, he simply must be given time to develop this team! I also accept that we need to see a style of play, and improvement of players and a less fundamentalist approach to formation but can we please at least give the man time to get this sorted and judge him over a longer time period given that he has had to manage a root and branch overhaul of the team.

still not over are worse defeat against liverpool, still some players still kicking a ball for us & thats back room management, same capitulation,do not see this behaviour even in low tier leagues, clingy withdrawl behaviour, not able to actually play, to even defend. Manager had our goalie, who normally just kicks the ball up field to people who find it diffcult to find or heid a ball against good defenders,in passing about like a valet service at a 5star hotel at playing out of defence, thought ok seems intelligent in await the field to open up, but that went out the window, delusions increased in frequency as this fellow has had 5 games to put something that we can have & not have these auditory hallucination, my food is being poison, feeding us absolute nonsense, this proffesional complex of relating stats after he has had 5 games & lost, lol, team will be studying over this break hyletics, hic,my take is some players over the years have been woeful but it is management that has been worse, all these players cannot be bad proffesionals, it just seems they are not being used or they are to dumb to be used to be actual winners in a league our club has walked for many years, why are we making things difficult, yors adhered to follow general medicine

Andrew Rennie

Can I ask do you think we keep making they mistakes when we find a good player like butland, kent etc we always clutch them and never sell them when they are attracting big interest. I hated when the manager said he wasn't up for sale during the summer as anyone should be, as we see how quickly top players lose value.
