I’d be surprised if ten Haag is still in charge by Christmas. They are in exactly the same position as Rangers and lacking leadership from the top to the bottom. Fernandes is not a captain but the problem they have is overpaying for average players. They have no stars in that side Gernacho may be one in the future but outwith that they are probably on par with Brighton.

Brilliant show again lads. £225k per week on a footballer that you don't even have in your own squad is absolutely wild.

Garry Birtles ( not peter withe ) add Alan Brasil to that list of that era that Man Utd spanked money possibly Frank Stapleton also former Arsenal striker

Russ

Just on Sterling's wages and a wider point on premier league wages - most of these players wages aren't gross, it'll be net. There's a chance Sterling is on closer to 500k a week with bonuses too. Never believe the Scousers when they say Diaz is on 60k a week either. It'll be 100k+ really. Pretty grim tbh. Is it the same with our lads? Great show, cheers.

Ross Stirling

It's amazing how every week you could replace the words 'Manchester United' with 'Rangers' and every point made could be applicable

Heart and Hand

Yes Garry Birtles. I confused my beardy English early 80s target men. Remi Moses, Johnny Siveabaek, Jesper Olsen, Gordon Strachan. They spent a fortune.

Great show again and Davies “which Crystal Palace finish 9th” made me chuckle. Q for next week. I’ve said several times that Klopp will go to United, but where does Southgate go? Who would be daft enough? Given Engerlands results does Carsley get the job full time?

Steve Clark

Do you think when it comes to us playing spurs and Man Utd they will play a full strength team or will it be dependant on where they are in the EPL.

In keeping with Jack's 'if he can stay fit' line, who's the best 'if he could've stayed fit' player in epl history? I'm thinking Abou Diaby from Arsenal, I thought he was the heir to Vieira when he came through but alas could not stay fit

Russ

From the past I'd stick with Arsenal and say Wilshere. That boy could've been the best in the world for me. Currently I'll go Reece James. It's just a crying shame how his career has ended up tbh, he's got it all as a full back.

Russ

Biggest 'what if?' will be Owen though, he'd have smashed Shearers record if he'd had a clean bill.

Martin Mcinnes

Let's assume Man City get found guilty of the 115 charges and the FA decide, we'll let the seagulls boys decide what happens to them, how are you punishing them?

Eric Stewart

Curious how nobody ever seems to mention the massive boost City will get when they win the case against the PL 🤔

Eric Stewart

Are they really though? They’ve had two managers in their history and done nothing outwith them - Rangers have a far greater lineage of success throughout than United.

Eric Stewart

Indeed. But it’s always the assumption of guilt that is the narrative - I can’t wait for the meltdown & fall out when City win 🤣

David, Was that one of the REM songs you previously covered “Happy but Shitey People” ?

In the Rice red card situation. If you look at the angle from behind the play. The Brighton player puts his hand on the ball and kicks it into the back of Rice's leg and my interpretation is the feekick has already been taken before the alleged offence. It would be interesting if if it went to VAR and they were to take that into consideration what the outcome would have been. More evidence that VAR should be used for second yellows.

What do you think happens at Liverpool with the 3 out of contract players, VVD, Salah and Trent

Andrew Meldrum

I'm going to argue that Everton stay up. Dyche will, I think, be gone by October, and a cloud will lift. The players need a change.
