Morientes takes me back to the old champ manager games I had on my game boy. I keep my powder dry when people hark back to the good old days of football but it's undeniable that the attacking talent across Europe has certainly lessened at the top compared to back then.

Also you just don't get a team of names and individuals anymore. You mention Chelsea with the bosmans, you had Madrid and the galacticos and every Serie A team was a galactico side really - the Milan side coming up in '05 is probably the best 1-11 I've seen in a UCL final. Whereas in modern football it's less about the individual and more about the system and teamwork. You just don't get those star XI's anymore. The last hurrah for me was Messi, Neymar and Suarez and the team who won in '15 (I think). Great show lads, cheers.

Porto gave me hope that could be us one day… Wrong I was (shakes head, Yoda style)

Spot on mate, and that Milan team coming up in 05 is so underrated I think. Arguably one of the greatest midfields ever assembled for me, as a unit it had everything. And then the sheer power & skill of Kaka. Can’t wait for it!!
