Really enjoyable listen on the Lyon game/where we are.

David A

Super show guys, more of James Donaldson please Heart and Hand

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks Steven and James very interesting pod really enjoyed listening to the points made

Colin Cahoon

Good points from both podders there. Interesting and a little refreshing to get some realistic positivity sprinkled over our current plight. There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Continual doom and gloom, no matter how fact-based will destroy us. Support those 1% improvements and things can only get better.

Andrew Walker

"Shouldn't be expecting to do any better than 4-1 against Lyon at home" Complete nonsense

Thomas Blair

The obsession over Scottish players is mental. If you think us having signed Lennon miller in the summer for £4m would have changed how the fans feel right now you’re kidding yourself on.

Alex Russell

James Donaldsons viewpoint is a breath of fresh air. Negativity never helps.

Bob MacCallum

In the Lyon programme, the manager said: " as ever, we have done our homework on our opponents....". What??? Did he not notice this flying machine called Fofana on the left wing? He was Maeda with skill and brains. Did he really think Tav would cope with him? If so, we really are in trouble. Any fan could have prevented what happened on Thursday.

Alexander Hamilton

Excellent show. You worked well together. Mind you it helps when the presenters views are similar to my own

Kyle Fitzpatrick

Felt good listening to a sane assessment of the Lyon game after all the madness and vitriol online.

David Innes

I don’t think it would have taken £4m for Miller- anyway the ship has likely sailed given the type of clubs rumoured to be interested now

John McDonald

Great show as usual, very informative having James on, it gives me a different and modified view on things as opposed to my usual hysterics!!

Ross

Some good points lads but Bajrami has been the bright spark in recent games and i do get £4m coulda been spent elsewhere but a number 10 who can fill in at other areas and has been playing well and looks our most creative player is money well spent because another issue of ours has been chance creation, i get we had lawrence hagi dowelletc still in the building but we 100% needed to address that area especially after cantwell left, hagi isn’t mobile and lawrence over the course of the season isn’t the answer to our 10 issues, once cortes and matondo is fit again Bajrami will make the 10 his own

Stace1ofthePeople

Agree. Everyone was also wanting rid of Lawrence and Hagi was publicy stating he was looking elsewhere. So we literally had dowell. At the end of the day everyone speculates and has opinions but nobody knows the truth and the conversations that happen amongst deals etc . Obviously there has been bad business with players out of contact but you have to assume clement and koppen are doing their best 🤷‍♀️

Ross

Yeah exactly, i do think the loan fee for cerny and the £4m commitment for cortes coulda been spent better but i said all summer despite having cantwell lawrence dowell and hagi, if we wanted to play that system we needed a 10 because none of them in my opinion was the answer, we paid £4m for someone who can also play LW but is clearly a 10 and every game is creating sitters i don’t think he’s a bad signing infact i think he’s gona be our best signing of the window and once he gets to play in the 10 role he will take us up a level because he will have the freedom and not be tied down to the left hand side and you can see his ball control, vision and technique is excellent and decision making is spot on he can see the pass nobody else can see he’s that perfect 10 goals 15 assists type of 10

Steven Harvey

Very rarely disagree with Steven on The Preview and he’s absolutely spot on about the manager just treading water at the moment. Anything dropped between now and Aberdeen away and I think the fans will go for him big time. His pressers and post match interviews are becoming Beale-like 🙈

David Innes

Killie away after the international break is already looking massive for him but I think it’s going to take a catastrophic run of bad results for the board to pull the trigger

Steven Harvey

Think he’s likely to be here for the season regardless of what happens. Just not seeing enough from him to suggests he’s THE guy. The Tav/Cerny right handside is baffling. If you continue to play a diminishing Tav, surely you need to get protection round him? Also think Barron/Dio could have bright futures but crying out for an experienced head in the 6 to support them through the bigger games. The lack of physicality in his additions is puzzling in our daft wee league too 👎🏻

Stace1ofthePeople

100% ..hopefully Hagi can contribute too and return of cortes(if he can stay fit) will be a massive boost. I also liked the look of jefte on LW and kasa or sterling potentially LB (I think they are both "RB" but both have appeared solid at LB in the short spells weve seen. May not work but I think we have options and things to try. I would like to see something different today though. Hopefully tav out and bajrami at 10 👌🏼

David MacT

I'm an optimistic like James, and do agree the manager has to be more pragmatic in the bigger games. However, we win tonight, with a clean sheet, that's 4 domestic wins on the bounce and no goals conceded since Parkhead. If someone offered you 4 wins on the out of 4 domestically after the International break with no goals conceded, a win in Sweden but defeat to Lyon after the Celtic game you'd have been all over it. I think some of our fanbase are going a tad OTT at the moment with how the season has started. A terrible refereeing decision against Kiev aside it's probably went as expected, maybe even better than expected winning in Sweden for the first time.

David MacT

In fairness he's not a player that would have united the support. Not at all I'd say. A good player, but not a player that would have had universal approval, especially at the price Motherwell were demanding.

JimGLW

Great summary Steven. Good, honest pod fellas. I'd say it isn't a case of us watching young players make mistakes. It's Tav, Dessers, Cerny, Propper making the same mistakes. Totally agree on willingness to see young players come in and learn. This isn't a youthful, vibrant side. It's an error strewn mess that has the manager playing Dowell over any youth when given the choice.

JimGLW

James is a great addition. Positive but not head in the sand and willing to be critical 👍

John Hood

Positive v negative attitude. Much prefer the former. Thanks James for some sanity. Great pod btw!

Jamiedfa

Great pod Steven( best podder ever!)

Simon

Talking far too much sense James. Let’s hope it catches on.

Jayson Moore

Great pod guys. Refreshing to hear James’ thoughts & views - speaks a lot of sense.

Allan Osborne

James is a refreshing breath of fresh air. I hope he's on more often in the future!

Scott Watson

"Am I f*** going to Blackburn" 😁 Great discussion gentlemen James - you mentioned you are convinced Clement is Big into the slight edge mindset Can you share what he says/does to signal that to you? Even better, do you see evidence of the results of that?

Chris Wight

There needs to be words had about Ianis Hagi after that performance. Yeah, yeah, he assisted the second goal but what a totally needless thing to do at 2-0 up against the worst team in the league. Now has to serve a three match ban and is no use to us until November. Also are the people who cheered him when he came out to warm up and when he got sent off so absent-minded to the fact he was trying to force a way out of our club because he didn’t want to be here anymore then all of a sudden had a ‘change of heart’. He hasn’t earned the right to be praised by the fans, that should come through hard work and high quality output. Not by just deciding to turn up because it’s in his best interests to do so.
