Greg

Please start time stamping these so I know when to skip the dessers section.

Craig

We have a scored 1 away goal all season. This should be getting put to Clement the next presser. No where near good enough.

Jason McMillan

Don't think there's any chance of a managerial change until the new executive leadership team is in place. John Gilligan and co could sack him but there's no structure in place to replace him. Not convinced an interim arrangement would help. Absolute shambles.

Simon

The moment he was given an extension at the start of the season told me the board expected the season to be shit and they weren’t sacking him. We’re going to lurch from winning about 4 or 5 games in a row then dropping points. I’m mentally detaching from here on out.

chris smith

The board (such as it is) may not yet be ready to admit it, but Clement is done. He has been dealt a very difficult hand with the club at a low ebb, but in the end, he has played that hand poorly - cant beat Celtic, refusal to change the 4231 system for which he doesnt have the players, boring, boring football, increasing levels of wibble in press conferences etc

Tolmie

You would think our only problem is dessers, could put halland in that team and he would struggle.

Simon H&H

Sadly a key part of this managers game plan is to hoof the ball long to that haddy in the hope he holds it up. Just awful to watch all round. I guess it’s not Dessers fault, that despite being rotten, he keeps being picked. That’s on the manager.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I see next to zero from clement To calm , to quiet and carful with everything we are about The way he continually makes excuses The evidence is your football side they are all the evidence we need A team of squad players One of Rangers biggest issues and not a sole wants to swallow it and believe it is that midfield Not one of them would get a game for Celtic and maybe a couple of them wouldn’t even make the bench Our levels of what we have are a fucking mile off The engine room for Rangers is 2 projects that are squad players and a 29yr old that plugging away it’s garbage

Russell McGhee

Pride, we have none. Passion, we have none. Pace, we have none. Plan, we have none. That's where we are. When you pull that jersey on the pride in doing so should be automatic, it's clearly not, but then you should have the pride in your own performance, again there's no evidence these players take any pride in their own performances. Pace is something we've been sorely lacking in recent times, can't win anything without it. Passion? Gimme a break, this mob are completely devoid of anything approaching passion. Plan? We have a formation, no doubting that and we're gonna stick to it come he'll or high water, but that's not a plan. A plan involves contingencies, what if this happens, what if that happens. Hapless, or maybe hopeless Phil as no clue on that front.

Stace1ofthePeople

My main takeaway from yesterday (there were many) but what really stood out was how weak we were. Absolutely zero physicality. Everyone got bullied. Dio and barron have great engines but are so lightweight, dessers is a pretty big guy but is so easily brushed aside, you could probably blow cerny off the ball, Lawrence was the same. And the rest , nobody stood up. I would have kasa and sterling and igamane starting every game from here on in as it's worth a shot and not gonna be any worse than what we are turning in currently. Some solidarity in the midfield and maybe 2 up top . If we go in same formation and team on Thursday we are doomed 🤯 let's see what Thursday brings

William Alston

I like dessers as a man but as a striker, not for me. It's also a nightmare listening to those interviews he does every now and then saying we are a good team. Totally delusional

Craig Armstrong

I doubt that we will get rid of Clement until there's at least a CEO on place I fear for the next 4 games, all must win games but also can see the St Mirren being a struggle to a 1 goal win at best. I don't think Clement has the ability to accept he has got things wrong. We all know what Thursdays team will be, we all know what the "style" of football will be. Cammy is being overly positive to think Aberdeen will fall away Saturday proved that is some hope. I just have no faith in this team to put any sort of run together. Mentioning Butland yesterday was,for me, a wee bit of revenge for Butland saying that we needed to make changes after the Lyon game. I think sone of players have realised Clement hasn't got it, we just have to see how long it takes for the big decision to be made, because I doubt he'll walk by his own accord.

Greg

Biggest worry for me is the complete lack of leaders in this team, easily bullied and second to every ball. Depressing and no quick fix.

Rona Bluebell

The strongest fork lift truck in the world couldn’t lift my spirits this morning. Depressing.

John Smith

Maybe it’s time Derek McInnes got his chance ?

ali t

We will have several dodgy results with this team. Goals are the Killer we just dont score them. Blame Dessers all you like but who else has delivered. Czerny scoring 2 will be him till 2025. I do not see anyone bar Dessers bagging double figures again unless Danilo rises like Lazarus and Igamane suddenly goes on a run. #Unlikely

JimGLW

Clement talking rubbish is now a constant. 1 year in and 20 million spent and we've get to see any sustained improvement.

Billy Forrester

Could not agree more but the manager is so stubborn and won’t change, his stubbornness and stupidity in constantly playing Tav etc will get him sacked. We said if the next manager hangs his hat on Tav we are screwed, that’s exactly what has come to pass and he will pay for it like all before him

David Gilhooly

Not one of our players look as if they have been Coached. Not even able to do the basics of the game, like defend. Under the manager i can't see any improvement in any player at all. We were told he was a winner, yes, in Belgium. Some clown in the Boardroom handed him a contract extension in the summer, why? No Evidence of improvement, no ability to change a game at any point and as yet can't beat tague FC.

Stace1ofthePeople

Agree, need to see some big changes and brave decisions over next few games to keep me optimistic and with the manager. I try to stay level headed as much as possible and not get caught up in the negativity but we are up shits creek (again!) And burrying our heads won't do anything. I've never wanted any rangers manager to fail and really want clement to pull something out the bag and give us something. It was always going to be a rocky season I get that. But the constant frail , tepid performances and the same starting 11 and tactics is glaring for even the average eye to see. I can take losing in a close game but I can't accept the weak mentality and nobody being up for a fight. That's scottish football. We lack it massively in our squad. The next few fixfixtures can't come quick enough let's see what this team and manager are made of. Do you think clement can turn it around?

Billy Forrester

I hope so Stace but I have my doubts now. He is welded to the 4231 formation and even the simplest person can see it doesn’t work for this squad with the lack of pacey wingers, a hold up number 9 , lack of creativity in the 10 role, Lawrence is not the answer along with weak midfielders yet he persists with it and it’s infuriating the fans, I feel he will lose the vast majority soon and you know what happens then. I like you never want managers to fail and give more time than others however I’m sick of clement and his cautious approach to everything, taking too long to unleash players etc, I’m done with him tbh

Alan Greer

No leadership from the top, no leadership from the manager, no leadership on the pitch. The club is a shit show just now. Celebrating winning a cup tie against St Johnstone like we have just won a trophy shows how far our standards have fallen. Good performances are an outlier now, this team is regressing and has been for months. Clement has lost the fans and it’s difficult to see a way back for him.

Brian Rae

It's increasingly looking like we're going to have to start again from top to bottom. I thought the manager had something about him when he came in but his post match interview yesterday, where he used the pitch as an excuse was very telling. This was a guy who stated only 6 months or so ago that we would play in a car park if required and get on with it. I think being duped by Bennet over the summer has knocked the stuffing out of him, then throw in the continual boardroom shit show and it certainly wasn't what he initially signed up for. What he had at Brugge and his 1st season at Monaco is a better level of player than what he's been lumbered with here and unfortunately, he can't seem to replicate that same style with us. Despite all of that, he's not performing to the required standard and we've got rid of the previous two managers for similar. The problem is, who finds and choses his replacement? I think the top of the club needs more attention before the playing department gets looked at. It's going to be a tough season. The 1 goal away from home stat is disgraceful TBH.

Bixby Snyder

Agree. That lot over there are also full of lightweights but they have pace, one touch football, and have multiple players who can smack a ball. You can get over physical weakness by having those three attributes but we don’t have any.

Jim Milne

I'm way past anger, and onto apathy. Can't believe in 45 years as a Rangers fan that I'd be in this headspace, but that's where I am. Part of me feels sorry for Clement, but then I remember how stubborn he is with tactics and playing certain players. We brought him here as one of his supposed strengths was playing youth, don't see that either. MacCausland was already in the first team when he arrived. We buy new players and he doesn't play them for weeks. He tells us his side will be fitter and faster than Beales, it's not. He tells us he can change it up against different opposition, he can't. We all know how this ends, and delaying it will only make it worse. I'll eat my hat if he comes back from this because the players look as checked out as I feel as a fan

Stace1ofthePeople

It's so frustrating and absolutely soul destroying watching our team and club limp over the finish Line every year . I have massive doubts now about clement. Thursday onwards he needs a different line up, formation, anything. But needs to show he has the character to admit he is wrong and has deficiencies and change it. Can I see it happening? Doubtful but I'll live in hope. He literally needs to go on a long and serious run of winning games including semi and LCF (if we make it there) and OF at NY. It's the only way he'll get the fans back on side. Better buckle in or we'll be taking vote in a new manager poll very soon 😅

Stace1ofthePeople

There's a lot of lightweight players that aren't easily pushed off the ball in the leauge. Sundays game was a really bewildering watch tbh it wasn't just their physical size it was their mentality that they didn't wanna get stuck in. Conor baron aside who actually does put himself about more than the others. but nobody else puts their body on the line? Can't remember the last time , if ever ??? , that tav has taking a booking for showing a player we aren't there for the taking. I don't mean hammer throwing stuff but big strong tackles that let's teams know we are up for it. Zero. It's pathetic.

Jim Milne

Have to disagree with Cammy's comment about Aberdeen falling away. They're not in Europe this season and sure they'll have a blip at some point, but we all thought George Burley's Hearts would fall away and they didn't.

Jim Milne

Do you think McInnis takes it? We are more of a bonfire now than when he turned us down the first time

John Smith

That I don’t know Jim. But would he do a better job than the current manager. 100% in my opinion

Bryan Watson

Stuck in this paradox. I don't think Clement can carry on but I don't think sacking him changes anything at all and only serves to perputate the doom loop. Start season really badly, sack manager, new manager bounce, fall short but with enough to cling onto until "they get their own players and a preseason", terrible start to season, rinse and repeat. Ultimately nothing changes until we have a clear direction and competent football people at the top running the club. I understand that Bennett's departure was unexpected and under terrible circumstances but look elsewhere. James Bisgrove left over 6 months ago and now our "best scenario" is to get a replacement by Christmas. Ross Wilson left in April 2023, it took us until November 2023 to split parts of his role between Nils Koppen and Tom Taylor. We are not a serious football club and we are run as a side project or a plaything by so-called "Rangers men". We have no direction. 15 months ago we were launching our big new structure in a sky sports interview with the amazing Bennett, Bisgrove, Beale trio. None of them remain at the club due to various circumstances. If that is how volatile your organisation is then what chance have you got to actually build a solid foundation for success? Clement won't last, writing is on the wall. I was at Rugby Park yesterday and I was also at both McDiarmid Park and Paisley in the week that saw Gio lose his job and it feels identical. If we do go on a run of results it will feel like it did when we beat St Johnstone, Betis, Motherwell and Livingston under Beale in between losing to Celtic and Aberdeen. Next bad result he's a goner but I don't think anyone coming in will sort us out. We are currently institutional shambles, stuck reminiscing about the past and all its glory without actually doing any serious work to bring that sustained success back.

Spoon

Top tbread gents, hard to disagree with any contribution here. We aren’t daft as fans a d know what we are seeing. I would love a reset, a refocus on domestic success and the formation/ players required to make that work. I know lots hate McInnes but I would rather have a guy like him in and end this search for a pep lite coach. I 100% bought into Clements early sternness, apparent no nonsense dealing with players etc but I am afraid I now see him more like a Belgian Beale with some of the nonsense he talks. This squad is absolutely a deeply flawed thing but we can and should expect to be getting far far more from it than we are seeing. That’s on the manager as you guys have discussed here, where is the coaching, the improvement the brave decisions to bring on youth. There’s a few decent signings in there but there are also a few which already don’t work for me like Cerny. Too many imports not enough harnessing local talent tried and tested in our league. Worrying times but Clement has a mountain to climb and I’m not sure many managers have the ability to detach their egos and adjust their ethos or admit it isn’t working, most double down and get sacked..

Spoon

What changed when it was Igmane? Chance creation is poor as are the quality of chances. Dessers is an issue no denying it but he’s not the main issue it’s how we play. Blaming the 9 is giving 10 others a pass and the manager gets off the hook.

ali t

If he at least rips up the script and says right, lets get the more physical players on and some pace in team....slim pickings. Sterling(when fit) and Casamejiro in for strength....pace its Matondo (when fit) Cortes (does he have real pace ??) and Lovelace chucked in ?

Bob MacCallum

If he keeps starting Tav at the back and Dessers up front, he deserves the sack. Every fan I know thinks the same. He DOES have alternatives now. Kazanwiryo should be right-back with Igamane up top. Also, he must change formation to get the best out of the guys he has. Try a 3-5-1-1 formation. Back 3 of Souttar, Balogun, Propper. Midfield ( including 2 wingbacks) of Kazanwirjo, Sterling, Barron, Diomande, Jefte. Up front, Bajrami, playing off Igamane. Couldn't be any worse than what we've been watching. What's he got to lose? The fans' trust? His job? Unless he changes, both are gone.

Doogz

A manager who is stuck in his ways and it’s his way or the highway. Sick of listening to his after match nonsense now where he rambles on about stats etc. John Gilligan would do well to listen to David Holmes and his approach when he walked into a bin fire back in the day. Get competent men in at all levels who can cope with the pressure of working for Rangers.

aldo adens

His new players comments is now a pain. And regarding the pitch 7 out of that starting 11 have experience of playing on that pitch only ones who never had experience was propper, cerny, jefte and bajrami. Yes he champions the recent clean sheet record we had but in all they games the opposition still had chances for getting a goal. Yesterday is the 1st time since the 1st year in the championship that i have seen all players who took to the field for us barely try it was minimum effort they put in yesterday and that is a worry.

aldo adens

Worrying thing about sterling since he has been at us he has spent a lot of time on the treatment table. When fit he would be in my 11.

Stace1ofthePeople

Igamane needs game time, 15 mins here and there won't give him any consistency. Kasa is so much more powerful than tav and needs a shot.

C. J

We need an attacking, aggressive and dominating individual in charge. Muscat was a better choice in hindsight.

Paul Williamson

Whatever plan or strategy Clement has it is not for this team, or club. His inability to deal with the issues in front of him are simply beyond comprehension. This is a very intelligent guy, so what is it he sees that nobody else can?

David Kiltie

Burley’s Hearts team early in the 2005/06 looked like title winners. By the end they only finished 1 point ahead of a pitiful Rangers team. They did fall away as the season wore on. Let’s see where the Sheep are at Christmas.

Jim Milne

The assumption that they fall away and we take that space is fanciful at best. The slowed down because of Burley and the owners bickering. Even if Aberdeen were to fall away that doesn't mean that we turn the corner.

David Kiltie

I think this season was taken as a write off in terms of the league from the start, with a major rebuild required. I can accept a fallow season of there are signs of building blocks for a brighter future but little sign of that at present. With the Chairman, CEO and DOF positions all vacant the people aren’t in place to hire and fire a manager.

Colin Mathie

its fine saying that if he loses the cup semi hes gone, unless we have a new CEO in by then then who's gonna sack him, cause he wont quit of his own back.
