Have to totally disagree. We need to stop making allowances and demand better across the board, the only table we would top is the feel sorry for ourselves excuses table. If this was a blip that’s fine, it’s not. If we could put half the creativity into carving out arracks as we do scapegoating the same old players or trotting out problems every team have like we are uniquely impacted we would be smashing it. Thats miles off good enough, in a season we haven’t been good enough against a back drop of years of …. Not being good enough.

Enjoyed the pod Grant and good to see James getting some R&R. Your comment was spot on until you went onto the Danilo bit! The boy has played about 10 games and cost us a foetune, people project a lot of things on him we just haven’t seen, or at least I haven’t. He did very little when he came on today. What I would again defend him and any 9 on is the horrible set up that leaves them isolated and having to do a helluva lot to carve a chance. All about opinions as it should be, I guess I continue to blame the system and tactics where others focus on certain players as the root of the issues. Enjoyed the contributions from the CEOs.

I think what I see/ have seen from Danilo is someone who opens space and works harder in pressing. Overall I think there's more to his game that suits our style than Dessers. Now a valid argument to that is does the system work and you rightly point that out mate

You must have been quick because he has hardly played ! I’m being glib but the accepted wisdom seems to be pushed that Danilo is the anti Dessers who can do alll the things Dessers can’t, I’m not sure it’s quite the case. He is different I will grant you but I suspect he will be patchy in this team as we as a team are patchy, we don’t make near enough chances and I absolutely agree on your point on the wider issues with a lack of goals etc that where this system and these tactics to me are miles off. Unfortunately for £6m my expectations are higher than what I have seen from Danilo, even if only in terms of availability. I don’t care why we have yet another expensive asset out for half their contract, the reality is we have been denied his best output for more time than we have seen him. My sentiment for players is practically nil, I want the club to be ruthless and where someone isn’t giving value they get chopped regardless of their previous contributions or ‘if we can just get them fit’ status. We have a sick note side and I’m …sick of it. Danilo might well come good, hope so and I am wrong But his size gives me the fear, he know has struggled to return from injury and his goal scoring record has never been much better than Dessers. What I would very much like to see is two up in Scotland, the fact we are obsessed with throwing one guy against a back four and wondering why we lack any joy is soul destroying. Take your point, see it differently and it’s only my own view. Enjoyed the show 👍🏻

Completely agree with your assessment in that as a club we are guilty of providing players too much cover from criticism or keeping them past their usefulness to the side. I don't think Danilo is one and whilst I might be proven wrong on this, with an extended run in team which he would have had without serious impact injuries then he will come good for us. As I mentioned in show, differences in viewpoints is what keeps debate healthy and always keen to hear viewpoints different from my own, what makes us on here a good bunch
