Mo is clearly talented but cannot flourish in a 4-2-3-1. We need to bin wingers and reduce the space between defensive midfield and attacking midfield. I know nothing, but think a Christmas tree 4-3-2-1 with 2 10s, with diomande linking would get us going again. Great pod guys again 👍

Good pod lads. Couple points to pick up on. I agree with the point re Dowell and would much rather see Hagi or a youngster in there, but I think it’s exaggerated to say he is a manager favourite, he’s only started 1 game this season. I agree regarding the one number 6 and 2 8’s being the best midfield for us currently, however I definitely think we have seen this more recently, especially when Diomande plays. With the physical profile of our forwards this suits us much better, especially with the 2 “wide number 10’s” supporting. I think we could see Barjami used in that wide 10 role to compete with Cortes/Matondo and also the left of the 3 in midfield role with Diomande & potentially Hagi. A good run of fixtures coming up for this team to start producing results and performances. With the returning injured players, time for the manager to stop making excuses.

I think one (just one) of the problems is that there is nobody really left to blame, apart from potentially people who remain non-ex directors on account of the money they´ve put in previously to basically help the club. Team and formation stuff is too complicated for a post on here in short format, for me anyway. It´s not great to say the least. WATP.
