Short term target must be getting the right side on the park for the League Cup Final and tonight is surely hugely significant in establishing Igamane and Sterling as starters.

Miguel Sanchez

This team are an enigma wrapped in a mystery!

JimGLW

Thursday night are oasis nights. Incredible

KAD87

So many positives…but fuck me Dessers is having a laugh eh?😂

John Smith

Would anyone be willing to sign a petition that says we only play on Thursday nights ?

Linda Mackay

A really positive result and performance. Wasn’t going to mention it but that miss from Dessers was beyond embarrassing. Imagine it had been 0-0 at the time! Utterly horrendous miss

Jim Milne

Was refreshing to see a forward that holds the ball up, shots and doesn't lay on the floor screaming for fouls that aren't fouls. Igamane has to start Sunday with Danilo the substitute striker. After some of the performances this last month we all deserved this tonight. Please Rangers bring this into Sunday and pickup form for the LCF.

Fraser Black

Big Andy called it the other day, everything in this team stems from the front. Why are we continuing to persist with a 30 year old when we should be going with Igamane or Danilo from here on in. There can only be an upside to playing either of them, roll Dessers out if utterly desperate. That second goal . . . Like prime R9!!! Such a bizarre team though 🤷🏻‍♂️

Doogz

From the ridiculous to the sublime, following the Gers, enjoy tonight and head to Perth on Sunday and get them pumped.

David Angus

Davy Edgar how the fuck did u miss getting it right up Bernard Tapiè at the start? 🤣

stefan strzelecki

The team were immense tonight , happy for them , and the entire management team. Most importantly our supporters , deserved a fun night like tonight. Iggy displayed his A-game. He will be eager to play this Sunday. This team love to play in space, when teams attack them overtly , they are developing transition attacks , which suits them. St Johnstone have blistering pace in attack, I would invite it on , then play through them , just we did tonight . Well done Rangers ! 🇬🇧

Jim McCutcheon

Great pod guys enjoyed the positives and a laugh at the same time , now the league if Phil can work it out then we might get somewhere 🤷‍♂️

JimGLW

Superb result! Absolutely great. Though Ridvan and Dessers were rotten.

Douglas Innes

Love Oasis on a Thursday night .... especially when you're in Nice

Jim Milne

Ridvan looked like he lacked match sharpness, Dessers was unfortunately Dessers. I thought Tav looked lost when he came on. I wish he had left in the summer. After all these years it's sad to see him finish like this.

Jim Milne

I'm willing to sign a petition that we leave the SPFL, and play full-time in a breakaway Super Europa League. 😂

Graeme Preiss

Think Davie is wrong about pronouncing igamane. Definitely an a in there after the g

James

I can’t believe that nobody mentioned the togetherness in the team when they celebrated each goal.

Mark Harvey

What a night that was. First time I've seen us win away in europe and the bears in the stadium were brilliant!

8luenose1872

That ref was determined to give them a penalty at the start, it looked so corrupt, it was probably just a man getting told he gave a pen that wasnt one so he got all flustered and tried to find one to make himself look less of a diddy but if a ref was on the payroll from a team thats what it would look like too. Tbf on him he was ok after that.

Graham Jones

It was a great performance by any standards, and the manager has earned the some credit tonight. Sure, the players need to convert this into league performances, but there is something there in this side, and the manager deserves all the credit, after he’s been handed all the criticism for Saturday. The good news is no more international breaks until March, and they might have to look at how they approach things with these players returning from these games. There is definitely an issue there. Let’s just enjoy this result and performance, and leave all the crap out of it, because the side have an opportunity to build on. There is no- need to say nothings changed, when it has changed after this result. They’ve shown that there is something there and they’ve earned the right to keep developing, which starts on Sunday at McDairmid Park. I thought they looked like a proper football team. The situation reminds me of what happened with Gerrard in the early days, where we were good in Europe and inconsistent in the league. That’s how these cycles go and we need to persist with this. If we don’t then we will restart the death spiral we’ve been in for two years now. Sack a manager, don’t support him properly with money, pressurise the board who push the manager in front of them, we shout “ get him out” and they oblige, and we rinse and repeat.

stevan castrissios

It’s just nice to experience this feeling again. Enjoying the warm glow. Well done Rangers.

littleboyblu

Brilliant performance. Should have been 6 or 7 if the final pass had been correct. Baron & Raskin superb, but the kid Igamane with his movement, hold up, & link up play along with his energy was the difference. And he wears black boots. Bring on a Thursday night European Super League and pack this SPFL thing in 😂

Spoon

It would be churlish not to acknowledge the effort from the players and the graft they put in, along with some excellent goals from both the striker and other attackers which was great to see. That’s an excellent result in Europe and had the feeling of games from the 90’s where seemingly ordinary teams were able to school us in Europe taking advantage of all our flaws. Individually there are zero complaints about the players tonight, my own current favourite remains Jefte who I think has everything to push on an be a top talent but as you mention Barron, Raskin and Dio were also excellent tonight as was Sterling quietly going about his business. I still think the striker is left too isolated and just before we scored there was a shot where he was up against 5 bodies strung out in a line around him, I know it seems harsh on the manager who did little wrong tonight but I think on another night in Europe we perhaps dont get quite as much joy as we did, no question it worked tonight however. Nice had a game tonight we have seen Rangers have at times, a few nonsenses from players, never really cut open but also never really in it. Take nothing away from the finishes, Igmanes second in particular was excellent but there was a weird feeling I had seen games for us where we just weren’t in it and every mistake we made was punished. On its own an excellent result the players can be proud of as can the manager. The challenge now is can we adapt to the SPL or do we crash back down to earth, lets hope not but I would be lying if I didn’t say I was worried this might make Clement double down on some of his recent assertions all is well, not sure I am quite there yet!

Alexander Bruce Crombie

Yeah fully agree lads, enjoy it and save the moaning till we deserve it which will be Sunday. Great positive pod. Mind David’s got a cheek picking them up with “thers no A in igamane” but ther is a ship in English Premier League apparently

Richie

We can’t get the Cup Final moved to a Thursday so why don’t we just get them to play in the all blue strip and kid on to the player’s that it’s an European game.

Gordon

With that choice of opening music I thought I had been dreaming last night and we got hammered about 4-1.

Stace1ofthePeople

Great night overall. Pleased for the team and the manager , the miss at the start 3 v 2 when igamane didn't get a shot off i thought ffs, what chance has the manager got when we miss opportunities like that. think that was close to our strongest 11. Bajrami was moved into 10 but had ridvan mccausland and dessers supporting which was definitely a downgrade in quality. Hopefully players coming back from injury and new signings in January will galvanise our season. Desperately want this team and PC to succeed.

Doug Young

Understand all the praise for Igamane, but I thought Raskin contributed hugely to Nice players' heads dropping- he seemed to everywhere, pissing on their bonfires every time they tried something. He's come on to a hell of a game last few weeks and if those around him follow, then life looks rosier. *Caveat: NO breath being held*

Jeffff96

I don’t really think the referee did anything wrong if there’s several potential fouls in the box and he’s let the play continue he should be able to check them all, just my opinion

Ryan Stewart

Delighted for Igamane, delighted for me that I won’t need to read or listen about how Dessers has to play because “theres no one else” anymore This is meant more as praise for Igamane rather than a criticism of Dessers, but goals 1, 3 and 4 simply don’t happen if Dessers is on the pitch

Glyn Davies

If that VAR incident happened in Scotland one of them would of been given against us for sure.......its refreshing dealing with competent refs in Europe (Kiev game aside) who don't bottle it when they are under pressure from the moon howling fans of certain clubs

Jim Milne

I agree mate. Maybe just because of what the commentary were saying it was being checked for made it confusing to people watching.

Tom Leitch

David, too much detail with your “Lucy” line for there not to be at least a bit of truth it. Rolled off the tongue too easily.

Jim Milne

Raskin & Barron have been the biggest shining lights of the season so far. Hoping Igamane is the next.

Heart and Hand

‘Whatever you say, whatever you do, whatever you say I know it’s all right’ is a lovely sentiment and fits the blind love we have for the team no matter what!

Heart and Hand

That’s not a mispronunciation, that’s good old Scottish ‘they named it this and I’m not changing’. I still go to Love Street, there’s no ‘The’ before Verve and the Spar in Kilwinning will always be the Spar despite not actually being one since 1989.

Spoon

Think it’s fine when the decisions are correct, if we had a stramash with multiple claim points you would want them all checked. Thought ref was ok myself although the young boy Rice was giving me the fear steaming in at end.

Jim Milne

How nice was it to see us winning a game and be able to give Bailey Rice game time.

Gary Shaw

Yeah …I think he was a bit over excited/emotional in the way he played when he came on…Another ref may possibly have sent him off

Pedro

Tbf to ref at the triple var check at least he gave us the free kick for the foul on Barron

John Hood

To all those so called 'supporters' who wanted us to lose to see the sacking of PC "Get it right up yez" That's all. Thanks

Andrew Meldrum

The only thing I think the manager got wrong was his subs. He had 5, only used 4. I'd have sent on Findlay Curtis instead of Dessers, and given Leon King or Robbie Fraser a run out at the same time. If Curtis has got himself a goal, Dessers would be down to 4th choice!

stuart Campbell

PLG got decent results in Europe but domestically Mike's off it

David Millar

You are correct Graeme. There’s an ‘a’ in the version of his name on the Rangers website list of players as well as on the back of his shirt.

Scott Cameron

Pronunciation school by David Edgar😁

Heart and Hand

Gentlemen, I have no problems admitting when I’m wrong. I had gone with the UEFA pronunciation but it is apparently ‘Ig-a-man’. There’s an A but no -ay at the end.

Dingus

Ridvan was walking back leaving Jefte 2 on 1. If he can’t sprint around for the 20-odd minutes he was on, he’s not fit to be on our bench. Like Bajrami, willing to run forward but happy to leave the defending graft to teammates just because we’re 4 up. Needs a rocket !

James Kennedy

While we're in the mood for fixing names, it's Yilmaz. No Ridvan.
