John Smith

Happy New Year everyone

james whyte

14 points behind and a dead rubber of a 2nd OF game of the season. Should be sacked, in that way.

Allan Fowler

Absolutely sick of listening to him. Get rid.

Keith Murray

Can’t even listen to Clement now, I can no longer defend him - managers in the past have been sacked for far less and I feel we need a change - I just hope we don’t wait too long.

Stillsaw

Imo we sell Ridvan and keep Fraser as back up until the end of the season. Bank the money and save on his wages

Jim McCutcheon

It's a mess when do we address it, bite the bullet and make a start 🤔, thanks David 👍

William Noble

Dessers dowall proper are all donkeys

fraser waugh

The collapse of the team is similar to Murtys first time round, had a decent 2 months, lose to them then collapse, this is what we are seeing.

Robert Reid

It's sad, I like the big man, he obvious loves football and Rangers but he's got to go, nobody thinks he's going to turn it around. Scottish coefficient on twitter stating that there has only been three previous occasions when the gap between the Old Firm has been this big at new year Feb 2021 - Lennon resigned Feb 2017 Warburton resigned Jan 2007 - Paul Le Guen sacked

Andrew Lees

A good appointment on the communications side. Happy new year to you david and all the team

William Noble

I seen a report that Everton are interested in signing Igamane ??

Andrew Hind

How many more times do we need to see poor results and bizarre team selection before board get rid, his pressers show he is out of his depth

mark wyper

Absolutely sick of the whole thing I'm only going on Thursday for a day out with friends I can't be arsed with shite anymore so many of the players and manager needs to go New year new start hopefully.

Craig Brown

I can't bring myself to listen to the managers interviews anymore. I did catch a bit of him on the radio on the way home from the game last night and I've just listened to what he had to say there. Frightening. There are so many red flags in that 3 or 4 minutes it is untrue. First of all he has thrown the players under the bus twice there. Once at the start when he says his tactics and set up are totally fine. Which is nonsense because there was nothing in how we set up to combat Motherwells physicality for the umpteenth time this season. He then says at the end about would another manager make a difference in individual errors as if he is washing his hands of any the problems. I got serious Caxinha press conference vibes off of the whole thing. The bit about him and the board having discussions at the start of the season. The board have made a total mess of things somewhere between the appointment of Clement and the Summer. Somewhere along the line someone has fed him the line about a rebuild and a project and he has jumped on it. Regardless of whether or not we are in a rebuild/project being 14 points behind them before Hogmanay is a sackable offence. Our away form in itself is a sackable offence. Discussions or not things have changed drastically and this isn't in any way sustainable.

Andrew Mathieson

Utterly scunnered by Clement. It’s reached the point where I’m starting to actively dislike the man. Every time he opens his mouth it’s intolerable waffle. His decision making with regards starting lineups is unfathomable and utterly inexcusable. Needs to go and go now. Every second he remains in charge is negligence by the board.

John James Peebles

Thank you David and all of Heart and Hand. Special mentions to my favourite shows; Daily Update, Flagship, Post-Match, Car Pod and Preview. The podcast means a great deal to me. Each of these shows has its own place in my weekly routine in amongst a busy work/life schedule and each make that a little bit easier - especially trying to draw some solace from what we’ve had to endure this season. Thanks again, and all the best for 2025!

Andrew Meldrum

I've said for two years that Goldson's injury v Liverpool and the failure to deal with it was what did for Gio. I think we may say the same about Souttar v Spurs for Clement. I don't see us dropping points the last two games with him there. But I stress, it's the failure to deal with it. Players get injured . We signed Pröpper and Nsiala in the summer and gave big Leon a contract knowing his age.

colin mcvicar

Cheers David. All the best for 2025

Graham Roy

I get the reason for resting players However the replacements aren’t good enough! Dowell is not good enough, Dessers can’t play in our system. I want to give manager time but the last 2 games have shown us we have regressed. A win on Thursday is a must if he wants his job!

Colin Wieland

If Clement stays until the end of the season we end up being 25-30 points behind at the end of it. If he goes, what then? This talk of McInnes scares the shit out of me.

James McSween

You’d think the club, players and fans would get a massive lift if we sacked him and brought in an interim coaching team.

Jeb

Happy new year and all the best when it lands Davie (and the extended H&H family)!! You guys take us through some tough times, and we normally have a (sometimes cathartic) smile by the end of the shows.

Leslie White

I’ll sum up my views on our stable of players for the Scottish Games. We Do Not Have Enough Scottish Players!

Jeb

Me too. McInnes' Aberdeen side should tell us everything we need to know.

David Baillie

Many thanks David for your efforts over the last 12 months. Excellent output from you and all the podders. I’m still getting withdrawal symptoms missing Alan Bradley’s Bonzo drum intro on a Monday morning. Are there any plans for more history shows? I really enjoyed those.

David Campbell

Am sick of hearing these excuses do the correct thing Rangers please even just put Rae in charge until the summer. All the best for 2025 people from my family to yours.

Gary B

All the best for 2025 to everyone.

Craig

I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume that Cerny agreed he was feeling fatigue after it was flagged by the sport science guys rather than him going to the manager and complaining about tiredness.

David adams

Lovely positive words at the closing David , thank you to yourself and all the guys that work so hard throughout the year . Let’s hope 2025 can be a better one for the club we all love so much .

Andrew Whiteside

David, H&H is how I connect with Rangers as I live down south. Thanks for everything you and the team do and all the best for 2025. The manager is not the root cause of the problem and is why I don’t believe changing manager improves the situation. At Rangers the manager should be able to rotate players and beat St Mirren and Motherwell. But he can’t because of the poor quality of the squad past the first 11. I give him another window and what’s left of the season. The bench mark is a decent euro run the Scottish cup and at least close the gap.

James Mcgill

It appears he knows his job is safe. Sadly. Why else would a manager listen to sports science when you need to play your strongest team to win and in that way SAVE YOUR JOB.

Douglas Innes

We have reduced our wage bill by what ? 30% ? We are now seeing a 30% reduction in quality all over our playing squad

Pondo Sinatra

Health & happines for 2025, David! Top man!👏🇬🇧

Scott Tolmie

Whoever the next manager is, for the love of god no more 4 year contracts

Alex Oliver

If we’re signing players that, by this stage, have already exceeded their minutes of an entire season from last year, what does that say about recruitment? Surely robustness is criteria #1 for any signing!

Allan

The cynic in me wonders if the board is okay with this domestic mediocrity. After all, we appear better suited to European football. And if fans keep buying season tickets in the hope of domestic success, and the European form continues, then the board makes more money. As a fan, I'd swap our European form for domestic titles in a heartbeat. Would every board member would say the same? I only see that changing once fans start voting with their feet, unfortunately. Anyway, here's hoping for a better next year. Thanks, David and the whole H&H crew for keeping us informed and entertained for another year. Happy New Year to all of you. Let's hope we scud the smelly mob on Thursday.

Allan

He's not making a lot of sense is he David? He's acting like he knows he's safe. I hope that's not the case.

Graeme McLeod

He isn't listening to sports scientists. He's just trying to pass the blame onto them for his team selections and tactical fuck ups. He's had an excuse for every bad result since the turn of the year. They just get sillier as time goes on because he knows his job isn't in danger.

James Anderson

Clement like those who came before him, put faith in Tav, and Tav has stabbed each in the back. He had a chance to back the manager at yesterdays presser, and never. When Clement Clement is sacked, Tav should be sent packing with him. Rangers worst captain in my time, a serial loser

Mike Black

Happy New Year to you and yours

Robert White

Everyone i know agrees. It should be a no brainer but for whatever reason (politics?) we buy expensive mercenaries barely if any better suited to our league.

James Mcgill

And there in lies the problem. He appears to know he is safe. Surley a loss on Thursday end him

Ryan Macdonald

I’m sick of hearing the phrase “in that way”.

Stewart Robertson

Has anyone here experienced LESS battle fever in the run up to an Old Firm ?

Bryan Watson

Thoughts go out to Ben Williamson and his family first and foremost. Delighted with the comms appointment (on paper). I've had an axe to grind with this for at least the last 2 years because it links to my day job and getting to see real experienced and shrewd strategic comms and PR people operate at a mid-career and senior level just illustrated how far off it we were in terms of our activity in this area. We need to be the ones setting and controlling narratives. We need to have our manager and our players drilled in the top lines. Look at the absolute nonsense we have in the media in past years. Rangers statements hold no weight because of Jim Traynor's antics when he ran comms and then you look at some of the nonsense players like Sakala, Dessers, Cantwell, Kent to name a few, have came out with in recent years. Not to mention Michael Beale's entire tenure and Clement since April. The manager is flapping, he knows nobody is buying what he is panic selling. He won't see Jan 31st but as much as his time is up we need a real root and branch job because this rot is systemic.

JimGLW

His interviews are absolutely frightening now.

Graeme Strachan

I suspect the board view our euro successes as the only real income stream. Hence the strange comment from PC yesterday about selling players. While PC does ok in Europe, I don't think he goes anywhere m???

Hendi

It was assessed that those left out were at an increased risk of injury if they played. They were rested because it was decided that the weakened team would be enough. It wasn't. So he gambled on their fitness by bringing them on and risked injury. There are plenty of reasons to stick the boot in to him, without manufacturing them. As for Cerny complaining that he was tired. They probably undertake 'Wellness Questionnaires' on an ongoing basis, as do many athletes. They will form one part of the assessment process, alongside other data metrics, to assess their readiness to play.

Gary Gillan

Happy new year when it comes from everyone at NARSA! 💙

Gary Newlove

Aw the best for the new year to ye Davie and everybody here in this magnificent group 👍

Michael

Happy new year 🎊🕛 I will send you a wee story soon WATP

Mark Boyd

Only justification for playing dessers, dowell and ridvan is he’s trying to punt them and needs to get them shown

Colin Kennedy

Thanks David for keeping the heid over the last week and producing so much of the content that keeps us going. Best to family and health for 2025.

Graham Leatherbarrow

Happy New Year to all, 2025 can only get better, time to bin the underused as when needed they fail, we all know who needs to go but offloads will be expensive. The bigger issues are doubling Proppers Dutch wages then we are not learning from lessons that should have been learned.

Alex Downie

Happy New Year David and all the Podders, Also to all the H&H subscribers , Hope 2025 is a better year for us all,

stephen

I actually don't know where we turn from here. I don't think I've been this disillusioned since Green & Co (not to trivialise that awful time) it's a different disillusion but it's equally as worrying. We seem to have no money and absolute basket case of a squad. Even if we managed to find the very best manager in the world, what does he do with this collection of misfits??? I'll keep going because it's what we all do but I'm getting sick of this endless Groundhog Day cycle we seem to be stuck in. Now that I've cheered you all up have a great New Year when it comes 💙

Jimmy Price

Jesus Christ! We gave this guy a contract extension!? I just can’t listen to him anymore. Or Tav and the rest of the players for that matter! Enough is enough.

Damien Stubbs

Love a prolific DU David for president rousing speech. All the best mate. Another year of the best value for money I spend on H&H 👏💙

Graham Leatherbarrow

What is a project? A project is a unique, transient endeavour undertaken to achieve planned objectives, outputs, outcomes or benefits. A project is deemed to be a success if the success achieves the objectives according to acceptance criteria within agreed timescale and budget. Time, cost and quality are the building blocks. My/our question is what were milestones set for the project in June 2024, all project are constantly monitored v critical path, could our executive team please provide full end of year progress review for all fans/ customers. I have led and delivered projects with values up to 8 billion dollars I’d be interested to review the Rangers Monthly Reports, clearly focus was lost with previous management team and our club now relies upon the success of our newly growing management team. WATP

Ally Mair

See tav in the news speaking ahead of old firm with the “we need to see ourselves as men “ pish , aye this will be the same tav that at half 5 on Thursday will be saying it’s no good enough and we will learn etc etc total bollocks now

Hendi

Agree. He picked the wrong side. But the rationale for why he picked the side he did is justifiable.

Scott Cameron

Love listening to you on the daily update David, echo a lot of my own thoughts on a regular basis. Have a good one and keep up the good work team H & H in 2025

Scott Cameron

Ridvan was one of the better players yesterday across the 90 and his selection wasn't an issue, bringing in Cortes from nowhere and playing Dessers & Dowell were the red flags pre match and as it played out

Mark Boyd

Wasn’t saying ridvan was an issue. Just jefte is number 1 so he would obviously want to punt the other

Shevy Kapoor

Thanks to all the team for superb content. Daily update and dog walk is my favourite time of the day! Let’s hope 2025 is a better one on the pitch.

Fraser T8

Looking forward to the “manager has left” episode later this year. 🙏

Gordon Millar

Agreed Graham - I too have ran major projects and if a pattern of underperformance fails to be addressed, the management do not last....... hopefully their is a project/plan that the board have and that they are prepared to act if the success criteria is not being met👍

Iain Reid

Excellent work as always David, best wishes to all the heart and hand team and listeners. Thanks for all your work throughout the year, it’s not easy trying to be positive about where we’re at currently. Happy new year to all bears🔴⚪️🔵

Jim Lamb

All the best David to you and the rest of the H&H podders. Hope you all have a happy new year. Here’s hoping 2025 is a more successful one for the club we all love.

Calum Robertson

Thanks to the H&H team for the content over the last 12 months, best wishes to the H&H community and hopefully a lot more happier moments for us all to talk about in the next year

Stigger

For us to even think about selling wee RF for a shity £200K when we are needing a rebuild and ALSO getting rid of the manager is quite frankly ridiculous. I’m not saying he is the answer by any means but ffs keep him until the new manager comes in and sees how he is. ALSO 🤦🏼‍♂️

KMS

My wee girl wanted to buy me a Rangers calendar to put under the Christmas tree, I told her mum to dissuade her from wasting her money, I don't want to be looking at every month passing and getting angry at useless c*nt after useless c*nt looking at me 🤬 Being a Rangers fan has never been so hard to endure, grit your teeth and hope the tide turns before we're all pushing up daisies

KMS

We're at the end of December and calamity Clement is still fielding experimental line ups, and he has learned f*CK all along the way

QB_72

Id like to wish all at H&H ( podders and patreons ) a healthy, happy, prosperous year ahead in 2025. All the best folks WATP ❤️🤍💙

Sandy Mackie

David Best Wishes from Ottawa Supporter’s Club for 2025 Great pod keeping us updated

Kenneth Mackay

Last part was very well said. Thanks for everything you all do.

Jim Milne

If the club are smart they'll just put Igamane for every month in different poses. Fuck, imagine opening April and it's Keiran Dowell. 😭

Jim Milne

Happy New Year David. Best of health to you, your family, the podders and the larger H&H community. Appreciate everything you all do. 👍

Jim Milne

I'm not a fitness expert or sports scientist, but surely preseason is part of building stamina, endurance, robustness, etc irregardless of how many games you played the previous season.

Jim Milne

I agree with Graeme. I think he knows he is here for the remainder of the season irregardless of Thursday. Even a tonking would likely only get the board to give public support and say he's been working with his hands tied behind his back, etc.

John Walker

Cheers David for all your efforts through this year. All the best for the new year from Adelaide.

Stephen

I remember for about 3 seasons Morelos was January as there was always a chance we would sell him by the end of the transfer window!

David Mckenzie

Thanks David, all the best to you, the other podders and wider H&H community for the New Year from Sydney.

Graham Hendry

All the best lads and thanks for keeping us alls semi sane. On another note, what about that email from Rangers to ST holders and then being delighted to welcome Celtic? Excruciatingly bad
