Christ, it is bad. Alan has been wheeled oot!

Ross Monro

Glanced at this and read dismissal instead of dismal.. gutted! 🤣

Steffen McAndrew

Is it difficult for you guys to do pods when there is so much negativity surrounding the Gers?

Alan Bradley

Definitely easier Steffen when everything is going well, but it’s like following our team, whether good or bad, that’s what I’ve always done and will continue to do in the future. I just try to give my honest opinion, and from my experience it’s same with the rest of the Podders. Others frequently (most likely) will have a different view at times from myself and will state this within comments. For me the beauty of the Heart & Hand family is that even with differing views we can always be respectful to one another. Ultimately we are all Bears and to me that’s all that matters Let’s hope we can get through these really disappointing times and things will improve when a level of positive consistency becomes the norm. Then I’ll be able to join pods and stop moaning and ranting.

This board have let down a really good man, and a good manager who’s managerial reputation is left in tatters due to the hole he was thrown into. Yes, he took it on willingly, but he did so with perhaps a naivety about the patience the fans would show. Now we stare a situation in the face of another good person being thrown to the wolves, while the board treat him as their firewall. They were never in on the long term project at the club, because they only seem to value the trappings of power at the club, not the practicalities required to make it successful. How is it that Dave King was never even given the respect by them when he told everyone that investment had to continue after he stepped back having rebuilt the club and set us on the way to winning the title we all craved. He was again ignored when he warned that we were not seeing their right use of funds at the club, but was ignored again, and he yet again offered words of wisdom that the board had to find new investors, because it had become clear to him that the ones left there had no stomach for it anymore. All this happened while one manager left and two were sacked, and now we are seeing supporters groups looking for them to put the current poor bastard out of his misery. PHILLIPE Clement is a goo man, a good coach and a good manager, but he works for imbeciles at a club where the support act like the world owes them something. It owes us nothing, and we have to win things on our own merit without any help from anyone. But the one place we should see help coming all the time for the manager is from the board, and we’ve destroyed another good managers reputation because the long term project that is required due to the boards financial failings is never straightforward with he hordes in the stands at Ibrox. Some supporters really need to look at themselves int he mirror, because they were told in the summer this could be rough and would take time. While other managers have been given longer and vast sums of money at other clubs, in a similar situation, and one of those is across the city from us, we’ve treated our manager with contempt despite him performing some miracles with the hand he’s been dealt, both in Europe where we’ve exceeded expectations for such a young side, and also in reaching the League Cup Final and being cheated out if another trophy to add to his haul. One issue is we don’t look for excuses at Rangers and point to others because we don’t feel comfortable in doing so. It’s not in our nature, so we blame a good man who has been doing the best with the4 least of resources for such a huge club. I’m sick of this board and I’m of two minds whether to go back until we get a fresh faces in the boardroom who take action and support the manager of the day. I never thought I’d say that again after the years under the spivs running the club, but this lot are doing so for different reasons. They want he success, but they have no idea the cost it takes. It will be a huge test for the new CEO and Chairmen, who have increasingly looked like yes men since they came in. The comments have not inspired confidence they will speak truth to power, so they need to be watched. I’ll judge what they do, not what they say, because words are thrown around like cheap confetti at Rangers.

KennyY

Thank goodness at last a fan that speaks sense. Top post Graham. Absolutely spot on.

Clement has had more backing than Gio ever did and has not improved this team 1 inch. He talked about playing youth and giving them a chance, I’ve yet to see it, he bought propper, nsiala, Jefte etc, his signings. His away record is truly awful and he has got to be judged on it the same as Gio payed the price, even after getting us to a European final. Are u saying that this run of away form can continue and we are to just turn a blind eye to it? Pretend all is ok and take all blame away from Clement, he may well be a good man, Gio was a great man but it didn’t matter as he was sacked for less. This away form is worse than any manager I can remember so if the fans are not happy at seeing any progress then I’m sorry but what else do u want us to do, accept it and smile and say it’s ok Clements a good bloke?

Andrew Finlayson

In a shit season, Cerny has been a positive, that’s 11 goals now and many have been winners or point gaining goals in this instance.

Andrew Finlayson

Off the top of my head I can think of 10 points his goals have earned us, the other night, Dundee 1-0 at home, winner against Motherwell earlier at Hampden and he scored a brace against St Johnstone in a 2-0 win and there’s probably more. Unfortunately we don’t have enough players who contribute goals for us.

Jim Milne

Gio and Clement have spent about the same money. Maybe Clement edges it. However Gio walked into a squad that had an unbeaten season, and that was good enough to reach a Europa final. Clement had a team significantly poorer than Gio to start with before it was stripped and barely replaced. Yes he's bought Pröpper and Jefte for £2m. Compare that to Gio's £8m for the same positions in Davies and Ridvan. Up until recently Jefté was considered positive signing. He's also struck gold in Igamane, a decent signing in Barron, Cérny is a good loan signing, Diomande will make money and Kasanwirjo looked good until unfortunately injured. He's had the team stripped bare while having to deal with a board who banished Hagi. Then wages on Matondo, Lawrence, Dowell and Tavernier. Yes he could have let Matondo go but I bet his option was let him go and no money for a replacement. He did the role of CEO, Chairman, Coach and manager for 1/2 a season. If not for VAR we'd have won the league cup and I'd argue the Scottish cup. Scored 6 goals in two games against the league leaders, should have beat Spurs whilst beating Nice, Malmo and Steau. If we fire him, and it'll likely happen now we will struggle to replace him with any quality. Who will take the job knowing they have no transfer budget? Away form is dreadful, but so are injuries. Yes we have 2nd biggest budget, but we also have a club constantly in crisis and players likely pissed off at being booed and brutally low on morale. Arteta was in relegation form with Arsenal before he turned them around. I get the anger, apathy and frustration. I feel the same. I just worry about what's next if we fire him. If we fire him and next appointment is no better they'll be on a free run towards 10IAR again. We need calm heads, as well as the board and Patrick Stewart to publicly address the fans on the short, medium and long-term plans.

Jim Milne

Cammy and Alan. Just wondering is there any podders who feel Clement should be given time or is everyone in unison on he needs to go?

Rob Whiteford

Exactly. No point banging on about patience and throwing toys out the pram whilst second in the league and 8th in our euro table. In the middle of rebuilding the squad. Great post. What should we do? Get frank lampard or Derek Mcinnes in then sack them in 12 months?

Stace1ofthePeople

It's getting harder and harder to engage with anything rangers related atm. The board simply need to back clement and make this transfer window a success which I highly doubt they will. Would rather get in 2 quality additions that are going go really strengthen the team and let us kick on a bit for the rest of the season than 4 projects. but to dwindle on with the same players we know what the end result will be. Soutar balogun lawrence etc come back for a bit , take a few games to get up to speed, we then potentially make some important games in Europe and Scottish Cup and they'll be back out injured, alongside another 2 or 3 players and yet again we are playing a weakened squad. Dessers dowell matondo mccasuland barron Lawrence as well as others not really good enough at the this point to make any sort of impact and really are of no higher caliber than other players in the spl. Aberdeen winger duke and killie winger (cant remember his name) are both more effective and fitter than matondo. Jefte and ridvan performances are so hot and cold don't think they are of the quality we need week in week out even though they are both talented. Sacking clement in the short term will probably make me feel better but it doesnt give me and confidence or optimism about the rest of season or next season as we are just one big massive cluster fuck of a club right now. Fix it please rangers

Billy Forrester

Jim have u seen some of ur posts in the last month, u are shouting for him gone one minute then a measure of calm the next, your like all fans at present, myself included, confused and it seems opinion changes from day to day never mind week to week . I think Clement is a decent guy who has inherited a broken club however the stats don’t lie and 15 points behind Celtic in January after beating them in 1 of the 2 games is appalling as is 13 points from 11 away games its abysmal reading and the worst away record of any Gers manager in about 20 years, he is judged rightly or wrongly on results and yes he has been unlucky with injuries but so were Dundee who have huge injuries yet we were woeful against them, he should be ripping the other teams in the league apart with our squad size and budget but he isn’t so in my opinion that’s on him and his tactics, I’m afraid he needs to go. In response to a squad being good enough to reach a European final, I wouldn’t say that whatsoever, that was Gio who with his tactics and coaching was able to squeeze everything out of them to enable them to reach that final, he was a very good coach who wasn’t backed after getting the team to a euro final, if he was we would have kicked on but he paid the price for away league form which clement is managing to surpass and do even worse. It’s all opinion based and who knows what this board will do but my opinion is he cannot get us to where we want and need to be mate. Can any other manager, maybe not but we cannot just do nothing and let this carry on as it’s more damaging in the long run.

David Baillie

Bang on the money as ever Alan. 👍

Angela Frater

People saying we can't afford to get rid of Clement... we can't afford to keep him. At the current league trajectory we are gambling with 2nd place quite frankly and our staring position for Europe next season. The qualifying positions for all Scottish teams are taking a hit next season due to other teams not pulling in the coeffient points overall, so no automatic CL place for the other lot,and earlier qualifiers for everyone else, so if we don't get 2nd we are making things even harder to qualify for the European groups and therefore potentially a financial hit!

Spoon

No sympathy for Clement. He clearly doesn’t have the ability to impose the right tactics and strategy required. He complained about the previous fitness regime and has arguably been worse. He has been given players but doesn’t know what to do with them. In Scotland there is no difference to a home game or away game in terms of how teams play us, the only thing that changes is the dressing room and the pitch which is the same for both teams. The guy clearly has no ability to man manage and his decisions around selection and set up is frankly amateur. The guys record tells you this is how it ends at clubs. He will ride the wave of how the players form is sitting and still get some results no doubt but he is clueless in what’s required to win this league. The off field stuff is a red herring, having no scrutiny from above doesn’t impact how he coaches or puts the team out. In fact it just means he is less micro managed or accountable, to suggest that’s hurt him is laughable. It’s an excuse nothing more.

Jim Milne

I don't disagree Billy but what happens next? You're right I have called for him to go, mostly before the Nice game. We have a board that have caused all this, then left a club with no rudder for 6 months. No one will touch this job, I don't think even McInnis would take it. We are probably financially worse than we were when he turned us down the first time. The stats are terrible but what do we do here? We obviously have no money to even bring in loans, so any money paying him out is off of the next transfer budget that's close to -£6.5m when you count Cortes. Also, Gio wasn't backed. He was given a bunch of Ross Wilson signings including the guy who missed the penalty in Seville that he obviously didn't want judging by his he used him even when fit. You can't say a team that reached a final wasn't good enough to reach a final and it was the manager. Gerrard had consistently been progressing in that tournament each year until Gio. Gio had terrible injuries but his football was atrocious to watch. I have concerns about Clement's tactics, etc but maybe it's the apathy after anger I had that's making me think we have to keep him because the what comes next isn't just who is the manager. It's selling our assets and a new manager every 6 months. I'd leave it until the end of the season.

Tamus

I hear what you're saying about Clement being unable to control injuries However...... He certainly mocked Beale and his team for their injuries He can't have it both ways He is a fraud Get him to Fuck

John Breen

He’s been here long enough. If he could fix it he would’ve done it by now. And missing Tav and Butland is not a big miss. I remember Clement saying once he gets his preseason under his belt he’d get a hold of the injuries. And he’d never seen such injuries in all his career. And what happened to November being when his squad would kick on? He’s full of hot wind

Jim Milne

Billy I should have added. I completely respect your point did view mate. I'm sick of going back and forth on Clement. I just feel we are at a fork in the road moment and I don't trust this board or the new people just in the door to make the right decisions. The trust from the board is completely eroded. Cheers mate.

Richard Stewart

It’s not an excuse for the Dundee game, but there’s no mention that Raskin missed the Dundee match due to his booking at the Old Firm game, in a situation where Callum McGregor was not booked. In any other game, both or neither would have been booked. It’s just another example of the leniency shown to Celtic players. We are refereed to a different standard, and it does have a negative impact where Rangers are concerned.

Billy Forrester

Jim I respec your opinion mate and I am exactly the same as you, been back and forth over the manager but the football he is serving up is awful to the point I dread going to Ibrox now and worse still expect to drop points every away game. All academic now as chairman has said he is staying for now so hopefully he can get it right, I don’t want him to fail however watching rangers now is a real chore and I like a lot of others pay a premium for my ST, My Gers etc and it feels like we are being short changed. I’ve no doubts we will win tomorrow, and Wed night against the sheep etc but next away game at tannadice we will struggle to get a point, that’s this team for you. You mentioned Gios team were atrocious to watch, well Clements team are equally as atrocious. It’s a rare laugh eh 🤦‍♂️
