Question re the share issue - is it as simple as doing a share issue? Reason I ask is we hear how the likes of Newcastle struggle re FFP - why wouldn’t they be able to do something similar?

Every club structure is different as are league rules - as well as FFP remember that Newcastle are under Premiership Sustainability Rules (PSR) which are much stricter.* In Rangers case though, yeah it’s pretty straightforward to do (an occasional) share issue. Loans being converted to equity - which we’ve done fairly regularly - is just a form of that.

* it does look as though Man City’s recent court win on the legality of the PSR rules will blow that open though. If so, expect Newcastle to suddenly get a record-breaking £500m shirt sponsorship from Saudi Arabia.

Surely two separate things? Issuing shares is about getting money in FFP/PSR is about how much of it you can spend- because a share issue will not be considered revenue for those purposes

Scott - you can spend it on structural things - staffing, stadium, academy etc. That frees up a bit more to spend on players but as we’ve said there’s no way to fund a £100m splurge. But we will likely spend more than we would have this summer and still be on a better financial footing. If they decide to do it of course, I’m sure they will look at all options.

Since when has Kris Boyd been an expert on European football. I still remember that sitter he missed against Villareal. He never was trusted after that. I don’t want to get into the manager situation because I think we might have miscalculated in the timing of the sacking. The choice of interim manager was done to appease the generation who were schoolboys when Barry was a player. They make the most noise these days around the club. I come from a bit further back, so I was completely uninspired by the choice. We all idolised Ally, but we quickly knew he wasn’t a manager. When these new owners come in they will be ignored in the future, and so will we. Corporate America doesn’t do touchy feely with football supporters all that well. I’m not cynical about regime change, because we have needed it for three years, but we need to be asking more questions before it happens, and there is a lack of questions which concerns me. People are getting carried away by the 49 Ed’s logo at the moment. But they haven’t won a SuperBowl since 1995.

Must admit it wasn’t my cup of tea, was a couple of songs a remember being good but not for me. Was very surprised to see they make a lot of educational music for kids these days. I suppose karma caught up with me as my son was obsessed with the Mickey Mouse Club House for years and they did the music for it. So I suppose I’ve been listening to them for years.
