Shame about Balogun, just unfortunate that we have loads of CB’s atm. Would rather him than simpson, katic and helander

John Davidson

Surprised about Balogun but it may be a measure of the trust Gio has in Leon King and a need to ensure a realistic pathway to the first team. Balogun was a great signing and served us well for two years. Best of luck for the future to him and Andy Firth.

Elaine Campbell

Bit gutted to lose Balogun if I'm honest. But I guess his reliability allied to his age might well have been the issue? Good luck to the big man in whatever he does next 👍🏻

Brian Rae

Balogun was a very good signing and seems like a great person as well. He will be 34 very soon and injuries have followed him his entire career. The right choice has been made IMO.

Right call I feel

Big Leon gets it & loves it. Once a Ranger.... If you haven't already heard it this podcast The Beautiful Game is well worth a listen https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuc3ByZWFrZXIuY29tL3Nob3cvMzQ0MDI4MC9lcGlzb2Rlcy9mZWVk?ep=14 May be best for him. No one expected Goldson to stay, plus with Souttar coming in, young King coming up, Katic coming back, age & injuries aren't helping his cause. Wish him all the best, smashing big guy. Gutted to see him go. The Tinie Tempah song, him with the big cigar 😄👏👍 All the best to Andy Firth too.

Jamie Kirk

Gio knows what he’s doing. All parties will have talked it through and come to the best solution. One thing that’s odd. YouTube andy firth and there is zero footage of him making a save. Not 1. But lots of him gaming lol. Was he even a player or just a hype man?

Graham Jones

GvB clearly rates Leon King, and this will be in his thoughts about this decision. Balogun has been terrific for us since he’s been here. I just wish him the very best, and hope he finds a good club to sign for quickly. Whoever gets him, will have a consummate professional and fantastic human being to work with.

John Palmer

I really thought Balogun was gonna sign on for at least another year, gutted he's away. Firth on the other hand, well his luck finally ran out and think he'll be lucky to find a Junior Team to sign for.

LAURENCE MACRAE

Balogun was an excellent signing but with Goldson signing a new contract, the emergence of King + Soutter arriving the right decision has been made.

Scott Watson

Really quite sad to see Big Leon go. I've loved his attitude ever since he headbutted the post at Pittodrie on his debut and he seems like a genuinely top person I think a lot of people have got it right - this is primarily about making space in the squad for King and, maybe, to a lesser extent Sands to get enough playing time to continue their development

Colin Carstairs

Sad to see Leon go but it opens up maybe a path way for King to come in & develop further. Andy firth loved what we would all of loved to have done… Gio has a habit of going with lean slim squads so would expect more of the deadwood to be cut free & he will probably go with 18 of a squad.

All the best guys, hope the future bodes well for you both ❤️🤍💙
